It's like they made this mission just to meet the minimum quota of missions for each faction. Also, I stopped trying to optimise the run because it's more of luck and muscle memory (loads of retrials for 1-2 seconds short probably isn't worth it).

The nuke flash is pretty blinding and somewhat painful to the eye, unlike its classic counterpart. But I suppose real nuke flashes work that way.

I forget, does this level give you true Volkov (as in, can take on a cruiser without blinking) or discount Volkov (as in, falls apart before a couple of riflemen while trying to capture a stealth APC)?

Discount Volkov.
Rule of thumb: If it's an Aftermath mission with him in it, it's always discount Volkov.
