I watched your video and then tried to put the seat belt into the buckle and pushed the red button down just like what you showed and this worked. It would not go in until I pushed the red button and wiggle the male end until all of a sudden it went in. Still did not work right. Then I sprayed WD40 and worked it in and out and then it started to work like new. Thank you this video saved me a big headache. I really did not think this would work. So much for thinking.
Dude thank you so much. This literally saved me soooo much $$. I even took my car to the BMW dealership in Portland & they suggested “something might be stuck in there” They didn’t even suggest this simple super easy fix. Thank you sooo so much. I’ll actually feel safe driving my 🚗 now
I’ve just fixed my wife’s car seat belt problem with your suggestion of wd40. I left it soak in for a couple of minutes and then waggled the inside of the buckle to free the catch and tried the seat belt again and by magic it clicked open! One happy wife again- happy wife = happy life 😀
Thank you! I didn’t know why mines stopped working. Found a little small piece of food inside and after using a skinny metal piece I got it out and lubricated it with W-40 and it worked like new! Sometimes it’s the small things that make the biggest difference
Wow thank you so much!!!! My 2022 Audi seatbelt suddenly stopped working. Searched everywhere for help and this video was the only thing that helped! You truly saved the day because I was so stressed!! Thank you
Fixed it because of your help. Had to use a paper clip to push the black plastic actuator you described to work the WD40 in but after a little time and effort, works again. Thanks!
Noticed my 2015 Silverado drivers seat belt was sticking. Watched this video and sprayed the locking mechanism with WD40 worked like gangbusters. Thanks!
Worked for me on my 2007 4Runner! Although I did have a similar problem with one of the other seatbelts and that turned out to be a whole lot of dog hair and other crud had gotten inside and had to be cleaned out. Similar problems but different causes. Thanks for the good tip!
I just want to say thank you so much, sir didn’t think it would work was having problems with my seatbelt on my dodge challenger for a while It was unlocking on its on while driving took it to the shop and they said it was going to be around $500 to fix it. You just saved me $500. Thank you. 😊🙏
Greetings from 2024 .... my passanger seat belt would work, sprayed a load of WD40... attacked it with a cutlery knife.... worked an absolute treat, 3 mins to fix.
Worked perfectly for me and my 2016 yukon xl denali. Thanks for the tip! You saved me from a trip to the mechanic. Used PB Blaster because that's all I had in the garage. Thanks again!
It was in our case the bottom plate was stuck, using dentist tool and flasklight a piece of winter anti skid grabel came flying out. Then in worked again. Was inpossible to see fault without the torchlight. Thanks for the video, saved alot of money
The WD40 worked for me as well, as others have stated, saving me time and money for possible repair or replacement etc!! Great money saving video. I liked your video. Big Thumbs Up!! Thank You very much!!
Best lubricant for such mechanisms is a dry lube aka PTFE spray. It contains PTFE particles (teflon) mixed with propellant. When propellant evaporates it leaves invisible, dry reducing friction residue. It doesn't contain oils, therefore won't attract dust etc. Another lubricant would be silicone oil with PTFE, but this does leave oily residue, which may attract and accumulate dust and grime over time. WD40 do work, but I advise against it, as it contains mineral oil, which may damage some polymers (plactics or rubber). Silicone oil is safer for polymers.
This worked for me as well. With the receptacle empty, there was a metal bar across the interior, as it would be when latched together. The oil frees up the interior sliding parts and in my case seemed to drag that crossbar back to its normal unlatched position out of sight. Many thanks!
Wow,,5 minutes ago I made a appointment with Lexus thinking I have to replace mines,,a few sprays of WD40 and it works!! Unbelievable,, I don’t have to put my wife in the back seat no more
THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCHHH!!! At first it wasn’t working and I was finna spiral out of control but den just like magic it started back workinggggg thank u thank u
PLEASE HELP!! I'm having the same issue with my seatbelt (won't insert). I sprayed it with WD-40 several times, I pressed the red button several times so that the spray could reach all of the moving parts within the clicker, and I actually got it to work twice. Every time I un-click the seatbelt, I have to go through this process. Is this how it was for you, or is mine being more difficult than normal? What else should I do, without paying more than I have to fix it?
Seat belts are super important that they are working right. This fix is if you have food and something simple. You may have a broken spring or something more serious. Mine was fixed and working perfectly after 1 spray. MRT
So I sprayed it with lubricant and it will go in if I hold down the red release then plug it in but everytime I release the latch springs up to where it won't go in on its own. Any suggestions? Plz
The lubricate trick is really just if you’ve had food or something sticky go in there. It sounds like something mechanical is wrong with yours. If in doubt replace it. MRT
With seatbelts you have to make sure they are spot on. You might have something mechanical broken or bent. When this happens you need to replace it. MRT

Thanks for the tip. Had to wiggle the end of the seat belt tip in and out and back and forth for about a minute and then BAM! FIXED. Thank you
You just saved me a huge headache. I was ready to remove the whole buckle. A bit of WD40 and Solved!! Amazing, thank you

I had to come back and comment. Thank you! Honestly, I didn't think this would work but worked like a charm. Just saved so much money

Wow, I cannot believe a little bit of WD-40 just fixed the seat belt of my 04 Jeep Wrangler. As good as new now! MANY thanks!! =)
You are the hero, sir! This worked! It took a lot of lubricant and about 5-10minutes of fiddling with it, but it finally released ! THANK YOU!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I tried it with white lithium spray and it didn't work, so after watching this video I used wd40 and it worked! thanks man!
Didn't think it would be this simple but it actually worked on my Tesla Model 3 as well! Thank you!
Having the same issue on my Model 3, with the buckle getting stuck when trying to release...will try WD-40! Tesla estimated $200 on the app to fix!
This simple video just saved me $400. Thank you!
You, my friend, are a legend. Quick, easy and without cost…my favourite kind of fix👍🏻👍🏻
The WD40 worked for me as well, as others have stated, saving me time and money for possible repair or replacement etc!! Great money saving video. I liked your video. Big Thumbs Up!! Thank You very much!!
Worked like a charm on my Tesla rear seat! Just make sure and keep wiggling it around so the oil could get in there!
Spilled barbecue sauce in mine 2 months ago. No seat belt use all that time! WD40 worked! Thanks!!!!!!🎉🎉
Just like the others have said…works like a charm after a quick spray of WD40!. You made my day! Thank you.

just added some teflon lube and works great now. Thanks buddy.
Thank you, this saved me from buying a new assembly 🙏🏻
Thank you! I used wd 40 silicone lubricant (all I had) and it worked on my yukons driver's seat belt buckle!
Thanks Mark, you're my hero tonight!! :)
Thank you. I thought I was going to have to buy a new one. Did what you said and it worked. 👍
I will try this even though I’ve purchased a new buckle for £40… if this works then fantastic as I’m going to give it a try
Thank you so much, I have done this today and it didn’t work immediately but after trying it a good few times it did :)
Worked a treat mate thank you.
Wow,,5 minutes ago I made a appointment with Lexus thinking I have to replace mines,,a few sprays of WD40 and it works!! Unbelievable,, I don’t have to put my wife in the back seat no more

You're welcome!
It worked! Xc60 2009

This fix didn't work for me. But that's because i found one of my wife's fake nails jammed inside. At least its lubed well now!
Just used wd40 silicone on my 94 celica and it's clicking like new again
I couldn't find a video on How to replace back seat buckle. 😢
It worked ,, thank you
Somehow mine was stuck down a little. Sprayed with wd40 then leveraged up on it with a screwdriver and the thing started working as normal now lol

Mine was fixed and working perfectly after 1 spray. MRT
Didn’t work for my keep renegade
Can I use baby Oil for this?
I wouldn't use anything that is likely to attract dirt & grime
In my car, the red thing is very slow. If I press it, it takes 5 to 10 seconds to come pack up. Do you have any solution for this?
Yes watch the video. What I do there is a very good chance to fix it. MRT
So I sprayed it with lubricant and it will go in if I hold down the red release then plug it in but everytime I release the latch springs up to where it won't go in on its own. Any suggestions? Plz
Do I need to do the whole screw driver force the latch down part?
The lubricate trick is really just if you’ve had food or something sticky go in there. It sounds like something mechanical is wrong with yours. If in doubt replace it. MRT
Mine is a RAV4 2018 and still didn't work
