My goodness, this lady is brilliant. All I want to do is make quilts since I came across her teaching videos. Thank you so much!
Fantastic tutorial. Especially useful to know how to cut the diamonds with basic rulers most of us already have and not have to buy yet another "special" ruler. Microtex needles are great too. So much good info in this lesson.
Brilliant instruction and step by step process! I was so frustrated trying to set in the corners and triangles untilI watched this....thank you so much!!
I just made a practice star and followed your directions to a T. The star turned out so perfect I'm now doing a second and it is perfect also. Your directions are so easy to follow. I have a book of your patterns but they looked to advanced for me. Well I don't feel that way anymore. I feel ready to tackle one of your patterns now. Plus I have to figure out what to make with these perfect stars!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I just love Edyta. She explains so carefully. I was having a lot of ah moments. Now I can't wait to try what she showed us.
This should also help her sell her books and etc.
Big Hugs Edyta. Thanks for all of your tutorials.
What a great tutorial!!! Love Edyta's quilts, patterns and fabrics. Thank you for sharing !
Wow, such a brilliant tutorial. Edyta simply shines with all of her techniques and details.... and its the little details that make a difficult block become achievable. Thank you!

I am a very new quilter, in fact, I have yet to make my first real block! I have been watching so many videos to learn everything I can. I have never seen anyone to do this method and I am so glad I found this! it simplified it so well and now, I have no fear of trying this!! Thank you!
Edyta is wonderful! Great tips and very clear instructions.
I benefit from shortcuts when I understand the basics as a reference. This is BRILLIANT!!

From one Polish girl to another - Edyta, you are a genius! Finally, I can do my LeMoyne star. Thank you!

well even though I should be cooking for thanksgiving I stopped to make just one...then more and have 7 so far - just WONDERFUL...a block I have tried with bad results until this....so good to have learned something really really good
What a great tutorial. I got an accuquilt and the strip cutter makes perfect diamonds. But I had no idea how to sew them together without screwing everything up. This helps me a ton. My cutting is not as good as I would like so the accuquilt helps me a lot. lol
This is wonderful! I just tried your method for sewing Y-seams and it worked beautifully. Thank you!
Love this video as it explains everything so clearly. She makes beautiful star blocks.
Edyta is amazing! You make everything seem so straightforward just by following the method with attention. Thank you so much for sharing your techniques.
Thank you. This is by far the cream of patchwork, beautiful block and the tutorial is so clearly explained. Thanks from England.

I know this was first published 3 years ago... little late getting to it! Love the demo and I made a beginner 8 point star. Edyta made it easy. Thanks for the demo!

I’m a beginner and appreciate the detail. Thank you.
Edyta, beautiful instructions! Now, I am not going to be afraid to use "Y" seams. You made it so so simple ... Step by step ... cut, angle, direction of sewing, laying directions of seam allowance and pressing only the back side. This is my first time watching your tutorial, but, I will be looking forward to seeing more.
This class is the best I’ve had seen. Thank you very much! The explanation is amazing! 😘🌹
Thank you for the video. I have been afraid to try a diamond with those Y seams. You're method is very helpful. Thank you for sharing your techniques! You star quilts are beautiful!
Excellent tutorial. Great tips. Thank you
Also, for beginners like me who don't have all the correct rulers, if you add one inch to the top and bottom, mark them and cut at a 45 degree, it works fabulous!
Thanks! Its beautiful! I can't wait to finish my star! After I finish my practice star, I am going to add stars to the quilt I am making for my bed! Thanks again!
I am so grateful to have found this tutorial! I have been struggling all week to make an 8-pointed star in the traditional way and was ready to give up and use one of the methods that does not use set-in seams. My first block using this method turned out worlds better than anything I have made using the traditional method. Thank you so much!
Kimberly always offers such great learning videos. With quilters like Lori Holt and Edyta Sitar, it is always so interesting and challenging, which I need.
Edyta, you really got me hooked with your beautiful fabrics, your kind soul and your brilliant explanations. Greetings from Europe, D.
Wow! Very well done tutorial. I've never had any desire to make a star and now want to try this step by step.
I just tried this because the instructions were so great. My block came out perfect and was the exact size it was supposed to be. Thanks to both Edyta and Kimberly for posting this. I'll never do "cheater" star blocks again. I can do a "Y Seam". :-)
I am so glad I found this gem. I know what my next project is going to be! 🎉
Thank you so much, I have just started making star a day by hand and was struggling with inserting the triangles and squares, I have applied your technique by hand and it has worked perfectly, you have inspired me to carry on😊
Very helpful! Especially how to add the outer triangles and squares and which way to fold/press the seams!
Amazing teacher! Wow I am impressed!
Holy cow that quilt in the background is stunning!!!
You are right Kori - the quilt is even more amazing in person! It will be found in the upcoming book, Handful of Scraps by Laundry Basket Quilts. Thanks for watching!
yes for some, but too busy for me....lol

Great video!! Edyta really does a great job in teaching. I watched the video a couple of times and on my first try got great results. Now that I know this can be easily done, I'm not sure I will need to english paper piece stars...what a time saver!!!!

Perfection! Wonderful tutorial❤️
First time to see this tutorial. I am amazed how simple and simply beautiful you have made this. When an instructor explains why you do each thing, it is remembered as well as understood. I have the feeling I will play this video over and over again. There is so much to remember, but I want to make sure I do not forget even one single instruction. Thank-you for spending your time with us and sharing your wonderful talent. Can't wait to watch the next tutorial.
Is there a formula if wanting a different size star, ie 10"?
