    Donna, I'm a new quilter, have just sewn four quilt tops this winter. I'm grateful and proud to be learning from you. Your directions and shortcuts are wonderful! I especially appreciate it when you teach how to repair an error. On this Lone Star tutorial you showed how to fix a seam stitched too deep. As a beginner, these tips are invaluable.Thank you. Greetings and appreciation from Alaska. ps: My quilt is glorious!

    This was challenging. Loved it! I made one completely from scraps- even the black is pieces together. :) I wish I could put up a pic. I am in love with it.

    Brilliant solution to Y corners. Been quilting for years and have always shied away from them. During this time of quarantine, I'm so glad to have found your tutorials, Donna! I have been watching them daily, over and over again. I open my email every morning hoping you have worked through the night to bring us another. LOLOL. I thought I was a good quilting teacher...but YOU are AMAZING!!! Thank you for your hard work, stellar techniques, and generous sharing of your beautiful patterns. ❣❣❣

    My grandmother made a lot of quilts, and when she passed away there were boxes of quilt tops that were never made into quilts. For Christmas I received one of these tops and it was the Lone Star pattern. I'm estimating the quilt top itself is 40 years old. I was going to make small Lonestar blocks to sew together to make my own quilt. But now I am to try your pattern to make a quilt. My grandmother's was 84 in by 84 in just the star. Thank you for the free pattern, it is just the size that I wanted to make.

    Wow Donna how wonderful is this quilt. I love making quilts but i am a novis. I am very reluctant to do free arm swells on a finished quilt. I have always wanted to do a lone star quilt but was afraid of starting one. Your tutorial has given me encouragement to start one to see how I get on. I wish I could pop into your store it would be heaven. We don't have many fabric stores in the UK so I mostly buy my fabrics and jelly rolls on line. But even then it's not like browsing in a store like Jordan fabrics. Many thanks. Anita x

    This quilt pattern was what got me interested in quilting and never having made any quilt before I blithely bought fabrics and tried to follow the pattern I had. What a disaster!!! It almost made me quit thinking about quilting. But a friend who I didn't know was a quilter, straightened me out and got me started a basic simple quilt and I have never looked back. But this tutorial has inspired me to try the Lone Star Pattern again and I think with your pattern & tutorial I should be OK. Can't wait to start!! Thank you SO MUCH!!!

    I love watching your videos more than sewing the quilts- that is going to change as I gather my ideas and develop technique (thanks to your clear explanations and great videography)! I am a beginner and am inspired by the way you intermix your step by step demonstrations with tips. I wish I had more beds and walls. Meanwhile, I am going to start with American Girl quilts for the two six year olds in my life. This will probably interest them in quilting, too.

    Hi Donna, just wanted to let you know I watch your videos all the time. I have a question about the grain of fabric. I liked your tip about ironing the grain so you don’t stretch the fabric. I’m confused about how to find the grain though. Hopefully you’ll read this out of the 716 comments you have.😂

    • @jordanfabrics8380
      @jordanfabrics8380  2 роки тому +1

      If you look closely at the fabric, you cans see which way the threads are running. Then try to iron in that direction, not diagonal to the weave of the fabric.
