Fantom G Editing EFX

In this video I wanted to give an easy overview of how to apply effects to patches in order to make your own custom sounds. It really is not difficult and can be a lot of fun. In this video you will also learn how to save the newly created patches with effects to the User section of the Fantom G.

Thanks for your vids, Ed. There's something I can't figure out in my G8. When on the Effects/Routing page, as soon as you tweak a dial that changes the Patch, you cannot save the Live Set until you Save the Patch first. The problem with this is that you have to Exit Live mode in order to Save the Patch, and you lose the work you did in the Routing page. So my question is, why are we even able to tweak the Patch levels on the Routing page in Live Mode if the moment we do anything, we cannot save the Live Set? It makes no sense to me. Thanks for any insights!

When you build layers on live mode the effects added on single mode are gone. Why is that?

Actually, you have to re-program every FX routing for every Single Patch used in your Live ot Studio Sets. There is a logic behind this, though, as the MFXs are not part of a single patch and are available exclusively in the Live and Studio Sets. Moreover, the Reverb and Chorus/Delay settings are shared between all the different patches in use. So, your Plate reverb won't translate well in a Hall, let's say,
Hopefully, the PFX is kept as an inherent part of any single patch. So, it can be a PITA, but this is architecture linked and, frankly, a blend of many patches FX and EQs will differ from the ones of single Patch.
