  • I made this video because everyone always asks me where to get that BOOM kick drum from the TR-808. My usual response it that it is in the Fantom G, but you have to ask her for it. Well, here is how you can create your own custom kick using the Fantom G. Its not very hard to do and once you do it you own it. I only tweaked a couple of settings to accomplish it, but once you understand the basics in the video make the sound your own by adding what ever effects that you need. I hope this helps you make some great beatz and ultimately some great music.

Hey Ed, love your vids. Have you ever heard that you sound exactly like Bob Vila! That's not a bad thing. Great voice. Your instruction really helped me get past some of the basic concepts about projects, saving, memory stick use, etc. Keep up the great work!

I followed your instructions and of course it works perfectly. I am going to check your profile to see if you have any other videos. I'm so glad I don't need to buy the drum expansion just to get better drum sounds lol. I really need some more effect sounds that are cool to insert in between phrases on hip hop songs and I can't find them on the fantom. Maybe I can create them unless you have a clip on it already! Thank you soooo much this is the best joint i've seen yet!! Luv this clip

Great video. I am having one problem. After I "normalize" the sample there is an initial clipping sound when the sample is played back. I followed the steps in the video exactly. could it be some other setting on my keyboard causing this error?

Hey, I just wanted to say thank you for the great instructional videos. I was also wondering, I just did what the video instructed me, but the sample won’t carry over from file to file. As in, I made the sample in one song but now I have to restart for another. Is there a way around this? Should I just make the samples on the Fantom’s hard drive?

Can you load your own sounds like .wav files to the fantom, and use them in your songs? If so, is it as easy as pluggin in a external harddrive and uploading the .wav file?

No, Fantom G will sample a sviaong played Analogue input and that is what it saves as a .WAV file. You may need to increase the RAM to 512Mb or 1Gb
