I'm Hue, this video made me happy :). My mom makes Banh beo, Banh loc, and banh nam for cong a lot. She makes huge batches of banh loc and banh nam and then freezes them and give them to my sisters and me. She has a trick for making banh beo by ladling them into muffin tins ;)
My grandma made these before and it was delicious. I wanted to eat it again but she lives 30minutes away and I don't have opportunity to visit her cause my parents are busy. So I was looking for a recipe and found this thank you. I'm going to tell my mom if she got time to make this

Finally! I've seen pictures of this on different food shows, didn't know the name. Looks like you could put a stamp on it and send in the mail... But... it's a Vietnamese Tamale! This one looks like something we can actually do here in the US, easy ingredients, and banana growing in the yard. I will never find this, might as well just make it.

Can you put in freezer for storage. Will the meat still need to be cooked first if freezing?

Hi love your videos. Good job. With this recipe can I use baking paper also known as parchment paper if I cant get banana leaves because a bit hard to get where I live :)

I live in us and it is hard to find banana leaf for some of Banh recipes. Can i substitute something else for ba banana leaf?

+angela pang you can use aluminium foil to wrap. Banana leaves make them more fragrant though :)

Khi hấp chị dựng bánh lên thì bánh chín đều và mau hơn :))
chị helen ơi, bánh của em hấp xong lại hội mùi của bột sống, em không biết lý do vì sao hết.vì em cũng hấp 20-30 phút lận
+nguyễn ngô bảo linh em phải để bột nghỉ ít nhất 30 phút sau khi hòa tan, rồi mới lấy trùng bột thì mới giảm mùi bột sống được em ah.

Với lại chị cho em hỏi là bột gạo lọc và bột gạo khác nhau hả chị? do em được cho một túi bột gạo lọc mà nó là những hạt chưa được tán mịn, em không chắc là có dùng nó để làm bánh nậm được không? em thấy trên bao bì của nó ghi là có thể dùng để làm bánh bò, bánh giò. Nếu dùng làm bánh nậm thì liều lượng nước giống như bột gạo bình thường đúng không chị?
+nguyễn ngô bảo linh cũng có loại bột nó còn hạt, em pha nước rồi làm bánh nậm như binh thuong nhé. Luong nuoc ban dau em co the thử nhu recipe nay, roi dieu chinh lai cho lần sau, vì cũng tuy loại bột nên khó cho lời khuyen chinh xac lăm em ah
