This series has literally changed my mind about wanting a boat. I grew up around boats and always on them. But now as an adult I never had any serious interest in owning my own. But learning about the ICW through your videos has completely changed my mind. A trip pretty close to the one you complete on this series would be so ideal for me. I know Im almost a year late, but thank for the great content!
Oh Guys I wish I could've been with y'all. Would have freaked me out in that swamp but would survive if didn't fall in that water 😮 . Trip looks so beautiful but that wide open water would be freeky. I've traveled very little distance in the icw. Port Bolivar Tx to Crystal Beach only about 12 miles on a pontoon boat (barge). I bet you guys have a blast!
I stopped in Belhaven on my way south, and north. Both times, I stayed at the River Forest Marina, which is just inside the breakwater to stbd. Henry, the dock manager is a real southern gentleman, and will assist you in landing and when you tie up. They also offer FREE golf cart use while you are there, so getting around town is easy (I drove about 3 miles each way to the supermarket). They also offer FREE laundry use to their guests. Pump out (Henry and his assistant do everything) was $15.
I hope Belhaven recovered from COVID. Last time I was at that dock, the town's business district had a lot of missing teeth. I remember the good times when Georgie's Sports Bar was open and dinner was good and cheap.
I’m from down there but live in Alaska. I have the pleasure of running up and down the coast between ventures California all the way the the far western Aleutian Islands in Alaska. Threw Canadas inside passage. Sharing the shipping lanes with any size ship in the world. Awesome to see this series.
Being 'glassy eyed' with a harmonica - major fun and a total HOOT [been there and done that myself😆😅😂🤣] Anyhoo...enjoyed the video - thanks for posting! Safe travels gents...
oh yeah those eyes were gone. that's what a state trooper sees when you are coming hone from SCORES and get pulled over and you say 'No Occifer I have not been drinking'
@@Baba3756-n2o Been there and done that to with the "Occifer" drill...fortunately not while driving but while walking home in not too straight line of steps. I was damn lucky I didn't get pinched for public drunkeness!
I've made that same trip about a dozen times in my younger days I live in Jacksonville Florida me and my best friend have brought many boats from New York to Florida for peaple moving down here we actually one time did the ocean route.
You guys are blessed having so many facilities on the water that are pretty cheap , come to Sydney Australia and check the costs out not to mention gas is around $10 a gallon.
you probably passed it by now but there is an italian restaurant at Southport NC Marina you cannot miss. Outstanding. and Beaufort NC a great place to stop.
We stopped at Belhaven a few times on our ICW trips. Most of the infrastructure you showed was not here 22 years ago. Certainly NOT the goofy pump out setup! I laughed out loud when you said..."if we come back!" Exactly my thoughts! Sometimes you gotta wonder where some folks brains are (or if they have any)! Be well, be safe!
I first became interested in your channel when I watched what damage the hurricane did to your boat. You must be a new channel because you only have 10.7k subscribers at this point. Not bad if you have just started posting content, but still low if you've been on here for a while.I wish you could increase the length of your adventures because I find them quite interesting. I never new there are so many waterways throughout the country being as I'm from Canada myself. Can you recommend a good app or map of the US which shows all those waterways you are travelling through?
You not been doing this UA-cam thing for a couple years. The hurricane made the channel take off. I used to make longer videos but most don’t watch more than 10 minutes of any video. The best app I use is Navionics.
Wandering if anything else to complain about in reference to Belhaven? asking for a friend.. Just a little pre research and planning goes an awfully long wsy...
Shipping is very expensive. An estimate I saw before gas price increases was north of $12g. Requires you to remove the arch and windshield to get maximum height down.
Just remember what a "dam yankee" is. I'm northern by birth , but southern by choice. Earned my " locals" card working as a deck hand on a commercial fishing trawler.
Generator all night??? Wtf hahaha😂😂😂😂 Newbys Ting called lithium 10kw and hybrid inverter and 4 solar panels ypu have free electricity 365 days a year😂😂😂😂

Great video's thank you. How interesting that this passage way exists!
Peaceful and interesting content ..nice job..😊

Another great video as always!!! Thank you for taking us along!!! 🙂👍👍👍👍👍

If I keep watching these videos, I am going to end up buying a boat.
Thanks for video. I'm hoping to do the ICW heading north next Spring and your videos provide a lot of information and "texture" to the trip.

You should film that! Even silent time-lapse would be cool if you don't like narrating

Made the trip many times. Always ate at Fish Hook after the mansion closed.

I’m from Swansboro. You anchored right bye Casper’s marina. The music you were hearing was coming from the restaurant called the icehouse. Great food
Great music too! Made our night.
While reading about your pump out experience at Belhaven, I would strongly guess that it is a liberal run area, can't even sheet dumping right!
Lol. The pump out is amusing
Fantastic!
you probably passed it by now but there is an italian restaurant at Southport NC Marina you cannot miss. Outstanding. and Beaufort NC a great place to stop.
I visited Beaufort NC last year transporting another boat. A must visit for anyone going through. Wish I had more time!
Just like a New Yorker gotta complain about something. At least there is a pump out...
Always room for improvement.
Enjoy Cackalacky Gents!

We don’t want you to return. That’s why.
@@joanneeure6323 - That certainly makes the choice easy!
I’m sure all the businesses want us to return. Boaters bring a lot of revenue to the town and help employ residents.

I liked Belhaven. Just poor planning on the city’s part with the muni docks.
Wow! Its been a decade at least but how Bell Haven has changed
Agreed! Got fancy on us!
I’m watching all the videos in this series and I’m wondering what the actual dates are.
We began the journey in upstate NY about June 30 2022. Arrived in Cape Coral FL Aug 2.
Wine wine wine …surprise! The world is not perfect .
That I’m sure of!
Did you consider the cost of shipping the boat to FL instead? Keep the videos coming!
Shipping is very expensive. An estimate I saw before gas price increases was north of $12g. Requires you to remove the arch and windshield to get maximum height down.
Indeed, I ran my boat from Fl to VA; would have been 3x the cost to ship and arch would need to be removed.
Do you run diesel or gasoline?
Gas engines.
Why you never let your little brother drive the boat?
He did. You can see him driving when we were doing the Dismal swamp while I flew the drone.
Love what you're doing and your videos but that was a LOT of complaining about the pump out.
Lol yep. Blame some of it on the drinks after but it was a total PITA!
One or two restaurants in belhaven about it
Where is the spreadsheet?!?!?!?!
Peace!
I just gave the basics at the end of video. Data pulled from the spreadsheet! Lol
@@AdventuresofHappyOurs the spreadsheet is the bomb . . .
Thanks! Ill do a whole video on it when we finish.
Just like a New Yorker to come North Carolina and complain. I was enjoying the videos until I heard you talk.
Just remember what a "dam yankee" is. I'm northern by birth , but southern by choice. Earned my " locals" card working as a deck hand on a commercial fishing trawler.
And they wonder why yanks aren’t welcome. If you don’t like the south, Delta is ready when you are, yeah?
Fish hook cafe is not great
So much bitching and complaining.
biden did it $6.00 it will double by 2024
Generator all night???
Wtf hahaha😂😂😂😂
Newbys

If I want to spend about $10k I can have all the “free” electric. Maybe when my generator goes kaput.
Y'all must be gay, right? Im mean come on.. 2 dudes, on a boat together, long trip, close quarters..
He’s my brother.
That's all you can think about ? Must be a world wise man aren't you ?
Loser ...
