Rewatching this series. This was my first "happy ours" trip/videos. It's bitter-sweet watching this since "happy ours" was listed for sale... I am looking forward to the new adventures, and I am very happy for you guys.
Just wanted a boat your size to retire and travel like you guys are doing cruising up and down the coast thank you for the beautiful videos God bless you guys on your travels and stay safe
Hi and thanks, Adventures of Happy Ours for sharing. It's such a beautiful view of sunrise@0:04. Indeed, water airplanes are fun to watch, K7S and I saw them coming in Harbors in WA@3:02. Thanks for a nice tip..That stick works@6:19. One of my favorites@9:43. Great work and look forward to the next. 😎
At the 2:00 mark that is a barge for unloading cement ships. I truck out of that plant(Lehigh in cementon). Love watching yachts and tugs go by on my break.
Hey there! I’m a new subscriber , just find your page researching the boating lifestyle & I absolutely love your channel! Binge watching all of your videos!

Love your videos, watched this one twice👍👍. I apologize if I told yall this before….are you familiar with Great Harbor Cay in the Berry Island chain - Bahamas. Research it…it’s a little known diamond in the rough. Very doable in your boat. Worth the trip! Research the food issue there. 1-2 very small grocery stores. Many have food orders flown from Nassau-2X a wk. Live Every Day, Dan

Hello there!!! I subscribed to your channel, nice video!!! Interesting great journey to Florida. I am from N.Y. also. You just got a new subscriber. Thank you for sharing!!! Stay safe Captain!!!
New subscriber here. I used to boat on the Hudson. Beautiful River north of Stony Point. I now live in North Carolina, thanks for sharing your trip. Brings back alot of memories.
Hey found your channel by accident..we just bought a home in Cape Coral in May 2022...we also are from N.Y. Poughkeepsie to be exact. Love your channel and the boat. I hope all goes well with the repairs after the hurricane. Stay safe my fellow N.Y. transplant.
Hi both, greetings from Malvern UK. We were recommended to your channel by the algorithm onto ep.10/11 and watched through to 14. As you are able to see, we back tracked to ep.1 We are enjoying and hope to do the ICW with friends from Scituate who have done the transit to Florida already. Go well and may your tanks always be topped off!
Shipboard workouts with Admiral Brigitt :D Happy sailing, it's got to be bittersweet leaving Shady Harbor, but I bet your looking forward to your new chapter.
Awesome!!! Thanks for sharing!!! I just happened to find you on you tube. Your video just popped up and I subscribed immediately since I am a New Yorker, born and raised. 🙂👍
I used to live in a house that was on a dead end road out in the country. The train tracks were 5 miles away so you could just hear it going through town. But 8 years ago we moved into the village and our house is less than 200 feet from the tracks. We get about 3-4 trains a day. At first I thought I was going to go crazy but now it barely wakes me up at midnight and again at 5am. I could easily listen to it all night if there was no horn. But we're also next to two crossings in a row, so they lay on the horn way too long.
Found your page by accident. Was looking at hurricane recovery videos. Just started watching your trip from NY to Florida. I am now subscriber to your channel. Best wishes on your recovery from Irma. I live north of Tampa but visit Ft Myers frequently
I live 5 minutes from Croton. That seaplane has been causing problems for emergency responders for a long time. People think the plane is crashing when they see it doing touch and go's.
Great video!!! Great content!!! So interesting following you through this journey from NY to Florida by boat!!! You got a lifetime follower, subscriber here!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
found your channel when you repaired your boat after Storm Ian. Started at Ep.1 to follow your Loop series. I was wondering if your spreadsheet for recording your journeys is available to see
honestly I was thinking the same... a journey like that could easily become boring with only two people.... specially when u just cant pull over at any random exit to take a break :(
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this video. We are making a switch over from RV'ing to boating, and your video has certainly got us quite excited about the change over. May we ask about some of the costs associated with boating like this. What does it cost, on average, to stay at a marina for an evening? And, what does it cost to stay an extended period of time (a month or more either on a slip or on a mooring)? And, finally, what does it cost, on average, to store a boat over the winter if you were to return to a winter region like New England or the Great Lakes? Thanks! Safe Journeys!
There are wide disparities among marina costs. Overnight transient stays range from $1/ ft to over $6/ft at high end marinas in cities. Mooring balls about i$10-25/night. Monthly stays at marinas also vary widely. $500/month is average. Winter storage about $1500-2000. These are costs I’ve experienced for a boat my size.
My marina is across the river from Croton. Patsys bay marina My boat is a 37 Silverton convertible LIVING LARGE. Keep an eye out for me. Dink over and have a beer. Love the videos.
We used to be in Haverstraw marina. We’re now in Florida, so that beer will need a rain check! Lol. There is another UA-camr in your area- Brian from “The Sailing Project Artemis”. He’s in that bay also. youtube.com/@Sailing.Artemis

I haven’t had any issues. Custom parts may be hard to find but that would usually only be for accident or storm damage. Most every system, door, switch, motor, gen all have parts available.
Nice old boat for traveling and living good life. Should get dome VW e-golf battery pack and 2 ore 4 solar panels and hybrid inverter. Then you never need to powering generator. I was surprised there wasn't a quick shot of the Hudson/Athens lighthouse, but I loved the video. My old boating/stomping grounds!
Not in this video but on prior ones as we made local trips on the Hudson!

Hudson is notorious for floating trees. Ran into one at night yrs ago and it destroyed all 3 outdrives on a 50 Fountain "little Maria".
Yikes! We hit a floating piling under the Verrazano bridge back in 1999. Bent both props and cracked drive housing.

Fantastic. Thank you! This helps a lot in our planning.
Like your videos. Isn't 1.31 miles per gallon really low, especially at such low RPM?
For gas motors on a 35’ planing hull that’s typical at 7-8 knots.

@daviddavid5880 no I haven’t. Must have been quite different back then.
In land planes, we call that a “touch and go”. Amphibian planes call it a “splash and dash.” 😂
I’m considering buying the same boat you have.. does Meridian being out of business hinder your ability to find parts and maintain the boat?

This trip ended up taking 5 weeks for us. But we went slow and stopped for breaks a few times along the way.

You don't set two anchors?
When rafted up. we have several out. Now and stern to limit swing.
Never a good idea.... Best to always be bow into the wind. I never set multiple hooks unless in a raft up
We were talking in a protected anchorage with the beach to our stern

Why did you choose a motor boat instead of a 40-foot catamaran? just ask cuss I need to decide which one to buy
