Man this video is awesome! I grew up in Pamlico County/Craven County, I’ve been up and down Goose Creek a few times, grew up on the Neuse River, ate at the Sanitary countless times, and over the past few years I’ve been fortunate enough to be stationed in Germany so this was a sight for sore eyes. I stumbled on this series and have been loving it!
Used to go to Emerald Isle every year for a week. Once drove to Morehead city cause my buddy wanted to get his first tattoo. Got tatted in a house/tattoo shop. The kitchen was the station area, licensed and everything. My buddy got an off the wall awful tribal dolphin mess, then went next door to Wendy's and ate in the living/flash showroom and watched "How High" with random folks just hanging out while I fell asleep in the kitchen getting the beginnings of a back peice I designed. Never fell asleep getting inked before. Must've been the salty air, sun, a little Bourbon and the homey feel of the place lol
Sorry I wasted your time with a question on fuel burn on another video. After going through your videos of the trip from NY to Fl, you have answered that question many times over. For someone who has been studying boats and watching UA-cam for years getting ready for the day when I retire and purchase my boat, you have THE ABSOLUTELY BEST AND MOST INFORMATIVE videos of anything out there. I love setting up Google maps and following you south on your trip, clicking back and forth from your video and the maps. Thank you for the time and attention to detail you have put into these videos.
Yesterday I watched the video that you posted showing your boat being put back into the water after hurricane Ian beached it. I was impressed by how cool you were and now I’m binge watching.
Great series ! My step-dad ran that boat the " Makenzie " for Re Mayo seafood for many years . I also live in Swansboro now so enjoyed this episode even more .
Great video! I really like the in depth discussion of the shallows and the "zoom in" of you nav view. I realize it may be too late now, but similar to the anchoring "extra" video/tutorial, I am interested in your nav system.
Hi guys great vids..just sub'd ..so playing catch up.. My good buddy an i want to do the ICW..next year..he has a 42' sailboat an mine is a 36' sailboat..we will be sailing from Nova Scotia..Can. You guys have the best vids by far..thanks so much!
Ok I was wondering where they took my shop to because it started in Louisiana and then they decided to move it so they bought me out,and it's nice to know that they still in business
I really liked the similarities of what you encountered vs. what I believe the Cape Coral area navigation may be like. My understanding is that the area is shallow with islands created from dredging spoils.
Hi Tommy Thank you for another video I really enjoy them. Just a quick question and correct me if I am wrong is your GPS in Nautical Miles per hour not Statute Miles if that's the Case you are actually traveling 1.15 miles further or faster.
My schooner drew 5 ft. Crossing the inlets was tricky. My boat had a 9.9 kicker, not much for a 35 ft boat. Low tide was the best time for an underpowered boat. I did not want to be sucked out into the ocean and beaches if my engine failed. I did not run aground at all, not like @ the parking lot. Ware I SPENT 3 DAYS & NITES ON THE HARD W/ NO WATER AROUND.
I hope you don't mind questions... if so, ignore it. How does the boat do running at such low rpms for so long? I kind of figured it would be a problem for gas engines. I'm thinking of a big trip like this and your videos are very helpful.
I’ve never had a problem. Modern motors should have no issues running low rpm. I do occasionally open her up a bit to get past storms and make better time as you’ll see in a few episodes.
@@AdventuresofHappyOurs And there are very few, very few who do the loop in its entirety. Navigating the Ohio into the Mississippi with all the barge traffic is daunting to even the most seasoned captains, and their boats. This boat spent a summer in the Chesapeake, Canal into the Delaware River, Cape May NJ. We did the Hudson River to the East River, Long Island sound, Marthas Vinyard, Nantucket, Then Newport RI, back to NYC Hudson River, Eire canal to Lake Ontario, St. Lawerance Seaway to Montreal, Comey canal into Lake Champlain to Hudson River, Erie Canal a second pass through To Lake Ontario, Trent Severn Waterway into Georgian Bay, North Channel of Georgian Bay, Lake Huron through the Mackinaw Pass into Lake Michigan, and finally into Sturgeon Bay Wi. where it was sold.
Wow just found your videos what a treat watching you go to Belhaven where we had a summer place just down the river and currently reside just down the street from Swansboro, I've made that same run before. Too bad you didn't dock up in Swansboro and eat at the Ice House the food is delish. Looking forward to watching the rest of your trip to Fla.
You mentioned anchor alarm. Which do you use? I have one app, Anchor Lite, but when the phone locks itself after 5 minutes or so, the app loses signal and the alarm goes off. There has to be an option to run the app in the background.
Real bad current going through that section where you said they need to learn how to drive; but I think maybe a lot of ships have lost power and hit it or got lost in the fog and hit it. Might want to think of all possibilities before trying to lay blame on just one culprit causing a problem here.
Gentlemen if you're going to do these commentaries please get the names right the town you anchored in is pronounced swansboro not swamboro and the water depth is 25-35 ft deep just so you know

Thanks for the informative video. I felt like I was on the cruise with you guys.
I’m damn envious!
Really like how you explain in detail all you do bringing your boat safely thru to Florida..Thank for great video !!
Don’t know how or why you guys ended up in my recommendations, but I’m glad you did. Really enjoyable videos
Another good one! Thanks for taking us on the ride.

Who is your step dad? Mark? I worked on that boat for a long while.
@NotOnDrugs Small world lol😅 yeah Mark is my stepfather.
@@msawyer402 that's awesome! how's he doing? what's he doing now?
@NotOnDrugs He retired from running boats ,and now works with his brother Wayne

Great video my man glad to see you making great progress
What looked like a dock in the middle of Bogue Sound is what is left of a duck blind
I was curious what that was.
Too bad you didn’t stop in Oriental NC. Great free dockage & lots of provision support as well as pump out & fuel station.
I really wanted to stop there but just wasn’t in the cards this go around.

We came up from Georgia to the upper Chesapeake, if I slowed down for all the homemade no wake signs it would take a month.
Love what you guys are doing wish I had the time to do the same enjoy watching
Your pronunciation of Pamlico sound is hysterical!
Hard to know the pronunciation of all the towns and areas we pass
@@AdventuresofHappyOurs I do enjoy your videos!
Enjoyed the video - thanks for uploading. I take it there wasn't any 'harmonica time' while anchored in Swanboro?!?! Safe travels - cheers...
Not this time. But next video is hard core harmonica jam session! Lol
@@AdventuresofHappyOurs ROCK OOOOOON!
Hello from Swansboro! Thank you for your lovely video!
Hi Tommy Thank you for another video I really enjoy them. Just a quick question and correct me if I am wrong is your GPS in Nautical Miles per hour not Statute Miles if that's the Case you are actually traveling 1.15 miles further or faster.
For clarity I usually am talking statute miles per hour. I had one gps set to knots but I would say knots if reading that.

I've been watching your voyage, we did it the opposite way heading north,
Most loopers travel north on east coast. We’re calling this trip the “reverse half loop”. Lol
@@AdventuresofHappyOurs And there are very few, very few who do the loop in its entirety. Whoa! You have quite the trek under your belt! Congrats!
The first place that you see in this video is called: *R.E Mayo Seafood - in Hobucken, NC*
Get some rest cap. Navigate safe

I wish we had more time to do stops like that!
How did I miss you going thru Georgetown, Charleston?
I didn’t stop there. Just kept on to Beaufort.
I currently live in swansboro!
Believe Forest Grump’s boat was the “Jenny” - can almost hear him saying it
Yep.. In the video is a picture of Gump painting the name Jenny on the boat.
@@AdventuresofHappyOurs ahh missed that🙄 no wonder no one else replied. Thanks
Lol. No worries

I only watch the video to see the fishing ships...
AKA Stern Trawlers and Shrimp Boats in North Carolina
:) "Pam - leh - co" Sound
So very detailed and informative😎👌
Wish you guys would've stopped by Beaufort!
Made that stop on my buddies boat last year. “Adventures of Ms Meg” was that series title.
@@AdventuresofHappyOurs Hell yeah! I'm gonna check that one out. That's where I grew up.

I decided to look at the conatiner ship Tikoo Trader @7:23 and is currently in Indonesia
Cool!
Swansboro, the Mosquito Capital of North Carolina... but pretty area..
You may want to do a little research. Pamlico is PAMlico, Swanboro is SWANSboro
Passing literally hundreds of towns the least of my worries is the pronunciation. Lol
It would be cool to see sea and air temps as well
I wish my transducer gave me sea temps. When I upgrade I’ll need that!
You mentioned anchor alarm. Which do you use? I have one app, Anchor Lite, but when the phone locks itself after 5 minutes or so, the app loses signal and the alarm goes off. There has to be an option to run the app in the background.
Yes mine runs all night. I keep it plugged in so battery stays charged. I believe there is a setting to keep app running in background with gps on.
@@AdventuresofHappyOurs Is your a cell phone app?
Yes. Same one you use. Free version Anchor Lite.
@@AdventuresofHappyOurs Thank you. What a wonderful documentation. Best I've seen yet. I hope to do it in reverse when I buy a bigger boat!!
We’ll be heading back north again too one day.

enjoyed your video, but you anchored in Swansboro, not Swanboro, any good east coast Marine will confirm, and not to pick but it is Pam-li-co river.
You’re not the first to point it out. Lol
I am from Swansboro

Just so you know it’s pronounced like the word beautiful. Beaufort not Bowfort.😁✌️
One is pronounced bowfort and one is Beaufort. I can never remember which is which.
pam-a-la-co
That’s pam la co river just like the race track
the race track is pimlico but you are right about how to pronouce it. I grew up in Belhaven
The what river
Jenny
Pam. Lick. Oh. Pamlico. Lol.
Also, SwanS, plural. Or possessive? IDK, but it's Swansboro.
