I ended up replacing all the bulbs with LED’s on 4/6/2020 and they haven’t had to be replaced yet.
These are the LED's I bought:

The LED headlights are these, got them in Dec 2017 and they still work:

showing how to remove both that whole headlight part and the marker light would have been really helpful.

Thanks for the tip about pulling the headlight bulb to get to the side marker bulb.

Removing the headlight bulb made a big difference. Being right handed helped a lot, but even so, it was really difficult for me to get my thick hands, wrist and lower arms in the side marker space. You basically have to do this completely by feel and reseating the bulb assembly was not easy. Pay close attention to the direction you twist to unlock the bulb so you do the reverse when returning the bulb to its seat. Driver side is a snap, even for a righty using his left hand

Thanks so much for this. I spent an hour today swearing and tearing up my hand. I had actually gotten the passenger side bulb out, and couldn't get the new LED to work. I put it all back together, dropping one of the bolts into the chassis in the process. Then I came across your video, and saw your tip about reversing the polarity of the bulb. That gave me the motivation to pull it all apart again! Sure enough, reversing the bulb worked. I was able to shake the bolt loose from the front bumper where it had ended up, and got it all back together. What a pain!

Big hands, the passenger side is a challenge but fulfilling to not have to pay 💰 a king’s ransom to pay the dealer. Took my savings and invested in a led 2825 currently $4.26 online price matched as of 11/3/23.

***REMOVING THE LOW BEAM(H11 bulb) IS KEY***! Love this video! I literally just changed the side light on a 2013 prius. And ... it pays to watch this whole video.--Initially I just watched up to removing the reservoir thinking that I got the gist(lol), but my screws were stuck so I came back to this video to wait after spraying some WD-40 on the screws loosen them up. (The screw size is a 10mm on both those on the coolant reservoir(btw).)
But then I saw that the mounting bracket was still in the way. Then I hit gold when he said to remove the the headlight! Pure gold! So I thought before I go removing the reservoir, maybe just take out the headlight and BINGO!--So I went out in the dark with a flash light and removed the lightbulb and I then was successfully able to remove the side bulb!
----Now I dont have LED bulb money, I just bought a 10 pack of the 2825 bulbs for $10.99 plus tax at oreilly(they didnt have it on display or in the back, but the counter guy was nice enough to order them and had them ready to pick up in 3 hours. It's way cheaper to buy a pack of 10 size 2825 incandescent mini bulbs than 2 at like 7.49 there. I also had to change the license plate bulbs and the parking bulbs. If I had money for LED bulbs, I would go for those but I don't.
It's also worth watching NutzAboutBolts video on 2010-2015 Toyota Prius Exterior light bulb replacement with LED to change out the parking and license bulbs(they all take the 2825 bulbs too). Thanks for doing this video. It really really helped me!

Try adding Xenon headlight kit. $30. Have them on my 2010. Amazing difference. No trouble blinding other drivers.

Finally a real solution to replace the passenger side marker bulb, remove the headlight bulb first.

This was helpful, thanks for posting. I still couldn't get a good angle with my arm to remove it, so I also took out the air intake. Then I got my elbow low enough to get a decent twist. Still, it was NOT easy for me to twist out, so I used a pliers (gently). If only they made the healights easy to slide out from the front like my '03 Elantra, we could do all the lights in a few minutes. Toyota makes a solid car w/ a lot of thoughtless details.

I got my bulbs at a local O'Reilly (San Diego). I think they were about $16/2-pack. The same bulb works for the parking lights which I replaced at the same time. Parking lights were a snap compared to passenger side, side marker light

This likely makes it a bit easier but it isn't necessary.
It can be done without removing anything but you might have to had a bit of hand dexterity. Any mechanic that has worked in tight spaces likely can even with fairly large hands. I was going to take it out but didn't have any if my tools with me so decided to give it a go without removing anything. I found some of the other bulbs to be more difficult.
These are good ideas if you need the extra space though.

I have small hands and arms and I still got scrapes everywhere. At least I took my watch off. That wouldn’t survive.

I also want to add that if you have semi-large hands this absolutely sucks still hahaha. I had to remove a 3rd bolt and move that air duct out of the way that the one reservoir hose clips into (edit: yours didn't have that duct, it was there on my 2010). It was super challenging but it's doable, bring a lot of patience and be ready to bend your wrists like a pretzel navigating blind behind the light.

What was the socket wrench size needed for those bolts. I'm guessing it's in millimeters.

Do you have info (or video recommendations) for the driver's side? I know it's supposed to be easy and the spacing is much better, but I just want to see someone do it so I can be confident that I'm twisting the right thing.

@@realrandomcarstuff I'll check again in the morning but I couldn't see the shape of the bulb through the orange plastic the way I did with the other bulbs where it's clear plastic... honestly I just don't want to pull the wrong thing and mess something up
