How To Replace Bulbs (Turn Signal, Corner Parking Marker Lights) Driver & Passenger Side Prius Gen 2

In this video, young mechanic Aiman will give you ideas and show you how to remove, replace and/or change the bulbs (turn signal & corner parking / side marker lights) inside the front headlight on a Toyota Prius Gen II, both on the driver as well as the passenger side.
Second generation Toyota Prius I4 1.5L Hybrid Synergy Drive include model years 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 & 2009.
To change the light bulbs for signal & side marker is fairly easy and without using any tools. However, changing the halogen bulb (low & high beam) for Prius is somewhat complicated. We have a separate video on how to remove, replace and install the halogen HID bulbs for Prius. Here's the link:
As always, if you're not comfortable doing it yourself, you can always take your car to a trusted local garage, auto repair shop or dealership. Toyota recommends using genuine OEM parts, however a used or even aftermarket parts such as Sylvania, Bosch, Philips etc., should be considered especially if you're trying to save money. They're a lot cheaper and sometimes have the same or better quality . You can locate these parts from part stores such as Advance Auto Parts, O'Reilly, AutoZone, Pep Boys, NAPA and even Walmart, or you could order online such as from eBay or Amazon.

Front Side Marker Light Standard Model: 2825 Long Life Model: 194LED
Front Turn Signal Light Standard Model: 7440NA Long Life Model: 7440NALL
High Beam Headlight Standard Model: 9005 Long Life Model: 9005SWTX
Low Beam Headlight Standard Model: H1155 Long Life Model: H1155LL
Parking Light Standard Model: 2825 Long Life Model: 194LED

Front Parking Light
• Re-install the high beam bulb power connector and make sure it clicks into place.
• Locate the front parking light bulb from the top corner of the headlight housing.
1/4 Turn Counter Clockwise
Pull Out Old 2825 (168) Bulb
1/4 Turn Clockwise
• Reach out to the small plastic base of the parking light bulb and rotate it anticlockwise.
• Pull out the existing bulb and install the new #168 or 2825 into the socket.
• Push the parking light socket back into the headlight housing and turn it clockwise to fix it into place.
Front Side Marker Light
Reach In - 1/4 Turn CC
Pull Out Old # 168 / 2825
• Locate the front side marker light bulb from the lower outer edge of the assembly.
• Reach for the engine bay and turn the small plastic side marker bulb socket anticlockwise and pull it out of the assembly.
• Remove the #2825 bulb out of the socket and install a new #2825 bulb.
Your Toyota Prius may need a new High Intensity Discharge Headlight kit or Xenon headlamp kit. In addition you may need to replace your interior bulbs with SMD or LED bulbs. The first step should be to find out the right bulb replacement size for your Toyota Prius.

So young and knowledgeable for working on cars,I just left dealership,they wanted $50 and 48 for 2 of those exact bulb replacement,as well as $80 for cabin air filter, thanks to youtube I was able to order filter from Amazon$12 and change it accessing from glovebox,now to pick up the bulbs and the help from you my lights will be in order, thanks again, GREAT VIDEO

Thanks so much for this. My Prius parking light has been out for ages, now I can replace it. I find it's a good idea just to lock and unlock a few times with the old bulb still in just to get the sense of how it should be before I remove the socket completely from the assembly to change over the bulbs.

This video is for changing the side marker light bulb (it's actually both for signal & side marker. In the beginning it was the removal, but towards the end it's both removal and replacement), watch it again till the end, you'll see it....it's actually quite easy
