Dang B! Keep at it bro. Thanks for all your info you put out there for us. This is exactly the kinda stuff us newbies need. I’ve been trying to figure out the deal with power cuts on my stock SWV2. Just installed a Flopack cap pac, but haven’t had a chance to run it yet.

I was hoping for a good speed run video with this setup, But some days are good and some are bad unfortunately in this hobby. At least you get to keep boating though! Our lakes are frozen here.
Big B, I thanks for all the time you spend on our behalf. Lots of great information shared. That being said I’m wondering if you ever addressed rudder length? A lot of the rudders come extra long due to the various boats they might end up being installed on. So how do we figure out how long is long enough? If you already did this please reference the episode it’s in; thanks. Keep up the great work.

What’s up b Rob again lol but did you ever figure out the best prop for the set up? I’m running the CNC 4214 Magnalium 7075 propeller on mine and seems to run great! I water logged my gps the other day flipping the bj24 and cracking the lip :( but got it in some rice to see if I can get it to work again! Boat gang love the videos!
That is a hot prop but , I think its the timming . You could see it wanted to take it. You could see it after the first cut out and then you would nail it and it would take it better . the second time almost resulting in a blow over.
Get rid of the battery connector adapters! Running nice qs8's and choking the current supply with crappy ic5's
I don't think it'll make much difference, it's still gonna power cut. I Replaced the blackjack 42 160 ic5 with qs8 and still got power cuts.
@@IRONCLADRC it's just not good practice to run adapters in vehicles, charging batteries etc yeah ok sure. It's inefficient at best, each to their own though, gonna do what you gonna do. GL with it
If the wires were burning hot, yea adapters probably the root cause, but they were barely warm. I have a set of q8 ill throw on the 160 but i doubt it's the adapter, more like motor kv prop size causing the power cut.

Thanks for your fantastic channel! I also run this spektrum 160A as stock esc in an Impulse32. In the beginning I had no issues at all and reached 72mph on 8S at ease with a TFL 4214 3-blade. Lately I also got lots of power cuts with the same setup, even on 6S. Nothing gets even warm. Maybe the stock motor a 3674 2000Kv or the ESC itself got an issue. How would you track down any of these? Thanks for all your great work, highly appreciated!

I have a Traxxas Spartan that has a power cut it just started doing it and I haven't changed anything not even the prop from stock dont know how to fix it. My 4s race boat blows the doors off it and im running the Spartan on six s
G'day big B Byron here the power cut issues are probably causing by the sonicwake motor v2 motor not suitable for 8s try the proboat impulse 32 v2 motor spektrum firma SPMXMM1100 2000KV my sonicwake has the impulse 32 v2 set up in it and it awesome on 8s and I also have the proboat impulse 32 v2 you should get one thanks

Not yet, herd quite a few guys pulling the built in bullets out in big crashes. I've been lucky so far

If you can get it to fit in the SonicWake, It should be good! Lower kv motor probably do that boat some good, especially on 8s
Retired my SWV2 for the winter here in the UK, I hope Santa will send me a ZTW 200A Esc to try in the spring, meanwhile I have fitted the stock 120 Firma esc into my SR80 Pro along with a 1580Kv in runner, on 6s it's pretty dawn fast and still self rights, it's now my winter basher boat.🚤👍

Cnc 4519 prop should help quit a bit.
I'm using stage 1 now 58mph 3rd time out, stock everything else. Would different Esc help?

Lay down a thin piece of foam, it'll lift the Battery's just enough to clear the outer tray. BG4L
Stupid question, but how does the size of a 1619 compare to a Oxidean 4519? Is it 1.6 inches vs. 45mm?
Abc 1619 (40mmx1.9 pitch) ovidean 4519 is a 45mm prop and the pitch 19 imo the oxidean 4519 isn't a True 1.9 pitch I think it's an aggressive 1.4 pitch tfl has a 19 pitch series that's basically an aggressive 1.4. Like i said its just my opinion not straight up facts. Abc 1.9 is a true 1.9 pitch peop designed for top speed

Qustion, are these power cuts due to too much current draw or low voltage spike????
BOTH can cause power cuts during a run. 1900kv on 8s pulls more than 160a continuous, probably current draw either need a lower kv motor or larger speed control.. My issue was the props I chose to run, way to aggressive overloading the esc.
Hello I have the BlackJack 42 with the Spektrum Smart ESC that came with it. I can not figure out why the ESC keeps cutting out when Accelerating. It happens at all Throttle positions.
I accelerate at a 1/4 , 1/2, or full.. no matter where the trigger is at, the ESC still it cuts out then go and then cuts out and on.
Using Zeee 4S Lipo Battery 6200mAh 14.8V 120C with XT90 Connector. Please Help me this is so frustrating. As always .. thank you
If you upgraded the prop, prop may be overloading the esc.
@@IRONCLADRC its the stock prop. I think it may be the low voltage cut off or just a bad ESC. Do you have a email?
What is a good paint for a abs hull for my pro boat recoil
Wish I could answer that question, I've yet to find a good paint that doesn't chip for abs/polycarbonate

@IRONCLADRC I'm fixin to try the Hydra in a Spartan with a Rocket 4082 1600kv. Motor says max 30V, so I believe 8s may push the limits but I'm willing to try
