I just switched over from Apple to Samsung and it sucked because I didnt realize how much I enjoyed using apple carplay on my 2020 Toyota Corolla. But this video gives me hope!
@@squishyhammer S9+ has been great. They are giving me $110 for it. Got that at launch in 2018 but they stopped security updates a year ago. S23 will get 5 years minimum updates it was an easy decision for me.

Thanks for watching! Yes I believe android auto does have a Spotify app. On my corolla, yes the back up camera does work independently when switch to reverse. Switching back to drive does return the screen back to Aauto. Cheers

Thanks for watching! Most likely your Android Auto will be french since it streams from your phone. I suggest purchasing it from Amazon - look up "Carlinkit 4.0 CP2A". It's the blue one. Cheers!
Hi @squishyhammer, does your phone automatically connect to the carlinkit when you start the car? For me it seems like I have to either have my (Galaxy S21)out of the lock screen or manually go into my phone's Wifi or Bluetooth menu to get the Carlinkit to connect. Not sure if you have that issue before?
Yes mine would connect automatically. I believe there were options to allow certain permissions for AA to connect in the options. I suggest removing the device and unpairing from your phone. Then go through the setup again

My dad just bought a 2023 Toyota cross with the jbl stereo upgrade and his phone will not connect he has to use a cord but the salesman's android phone connected just fine any idea how we might fix this?
I believe the bare minimum for wireless android auto is a phone with Android 10 OS. You might be able to get away with a Galaxy s8+ but any older might explain why
@squishyhammer thanks it's really hot that this thing exists I have the same car and I was told that Android auto would arrive and not even and I have no iPhone so it's cool that its allow to use Android Auto now I just have to know which is the best between 4.0 and 5.0
@@benjamingrenier1308 Yes makes no sense that Toyota abandoned our 2020 Corolla without Android Auto. You will need to buy the 4.0 only (the blue one). The 5.0 will NOT work because its for cars which already have wired AA & Carplay.... they should really change their naming scheme as it confuses a lot of people.
I believe so. If you only have wired carplay available in your 2020, then this device will work to give you Android Auto. Make sure you get the carlinkit 4.0 device (blue colored one) cheers!
@@epictetusaurelius3 No the corolla has native bluetooth that allows your phone to connect to the entune software. The Carlinkit device will have both bluetooth and wifi capabilities but you'll mainly interface with it wirelessly through BT.
@@epictetusaurelius3 Yes the Entune interface is quite horrible. However all you need is to boot through it so that the CarlinKit device can connect to it via CarPlay. Then connect your phone via bluetooth to CarlinKit to enable wireless AA. It's quite seemless after a while.

Yes it will most definitely work. My 2020 Corolla is actually the LE as well.
