I once asked one of my cousins how one could make a abridged parody of BoBoBo-Bo BoBo-Bo.
His response was: "Just make it serious."
........I need to see this theoretical abridged series.
Oh my god, that would be brilliant. I really want to see this turned into a dramatic show with stakes, and (even more difficultly) something that makes sense.
That’s actually an interesting idea
Like when DBZ Abridged removed the jokes?
I wanna see that
I'll never forget the joke when they had Japanese captions come over the enemy and he says "Get those Japanese words off me".
Djddfyddbedjbdhdj
Do he just break the 4th wall
@@TypeKK yup that’s common place
I'm pretty sure it was originally a joke in Japanese, but the american localization was tasked with making up the dialogue for the show. They had very little to go off of so they made up their own dialogue and jokes.
Or the time Bobo-Bo tried to take an exam.
JP: "Oh no, I forgot to study! I don't understand this at all!" (Funny)
EN: "Wait, what are these squiggles? Is this JAPANESE?! I can't even read this test!" (Hilarious)
“Why do I have this? I don’t have kids.” That was so much funnier than it should have been
Honestly those throw away lines are so good
Also kinda weird if you know the truth about softon
That was the funniest clip used in this video. I had to pause because I was laughing so hard
I was cracking up from that one.
That line broke me lol
Bobobo-bo: *When you watch Animaniacs and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure in the same while sick and then having a fever dream*
Pretty much
fun fact: bobobo and dio are the same VA
The weird younger brother of Excel Saga
And the that fever dream has a fever dream.
@@oluglyrass Thought it was Joseph?
The best gag was one that never appeared in the anime. Where Bobobo summons the actual Yugi Muto who uses Slifer the Sky Dragon to defeat a main arc villain. Like not a Yu-Gi-Oh parody but the actual character coming out of Bobobo's afro.
Not only that, but that the Yugi in that panel was drawn by Kazuki Takahashi (creator of yugioh) because Bobobo’s creator met him at a party.
Thats mad props lol
So THAT'S why Bahamut from Grandblue Fantasy comes from his afro in his April Fool's appearance.
@@pczb2692 oh hey, i was wondering if someone would bring up the GBF crossover. that was a trip.
In the game Jump Superstars for DS, you can make Yugi come out of Bo-bobo's wig as an attack.
The best part about Bobobo is that the voice actors sounded like they were having the time of their lives recording, which made the show even more enjoyable.
Voice acting was so good imo
That was the first show to get me interested in the VAs.
For the time especially.
It made it so memorable
The most bizarre thing is Bobobo-Bo Bo-BoBo’s voice actors are also from Jojo. You thought it was a normal JP voice actor, but it was him Takehito Koyasu or should I say DIO!!!!!! His ENG voice was Richard Epcar who was also Joseph Joestar. HOLY SHIT!!
For English fans who aren't able to read or watch the anime because they axed the show. Pickle made a return at the last volume of the manga
That's the perfect time to bring him back
No fucking way. Absolute madlad
......shit hearing that after all these years makes me happy
Based and Picklepilled
Took him long enough to get that agent.
Funny enough, the manga that kept going once the anime finished had the reveal that Pickles was actually acting as a spy for Bobobo to watch the true main villain.
Ok so how does it end?

To this day, the scene where Bobobo-Bo Bobo-Bo flails around the air making grunt noises and his opponent is getting hit by flashing lights while Bobobo is spiraling up in the air and shouts *"PINEAPPLE CUSTARD PUDDING!!!"* is etched into my brain as the most random attack I've ever seen in my life.
That does it. *I need to watch this show.*

What do you mean without "unnecessary violence"? This is like the show core for bo-bobo.
Legit true story, when I was 12, my Mom once walked in on me watching this show during the part where Don Patch was selling churros. When she saw that part, she would say "Why the fuck is the star thing selling churros?! Isn't this in Japan?! Why is he selling it during Christmas?! Why is he selling a Mexican snack on a Japanese street corner on Christmas?!" I obviously couldn't explain why because even in context it makes no sense. And for some reason, she decides to call my Dad and my sisters into my room to look at the weird Japanese thing I was watching. Keep in mind, this was because of one sketch in the show. Could you imagine how impossible it would be to explain the rest of the show's insanity?!
this is fucking awesome.

Fun story about Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo is that when it’s second part aired on toonami when I was like 10, I laughed so hard at one episode that I had an asthma attack and could not breath.

@@YOFACE9999 it was the part where Bobobo got his jacket I think.

Bobobo was literally the only show when I was a kid where I would laugh hysterically, my mom thought something was wrong lol
Five years ago I told my nine-year-old nephew about BoBoBo and he didn't believe me that it was a thing that existed. He went home and binge-watched the entire thing in a week.
To this day he says introducing him to it was the best and worst thing I ever did to him.
I think BoBoBo really gave me an appreciation for anime that doesn't take itself too seriously, anime can be so overly dramatic and cliche a lot of the time so it's nice to have "serious anime that aren't too serious" that embrace how absurd anime can be like Space Dandy, Kill La Kill, and One Punch Man.
One Piece is a decent mix.
@@honkworld9405 True, and One Piece was coming on the same time as this on Toonami back in the day, and One Piece just recently came back to Toonami...again lol.

Add onto the fact Dio's VA was in the long running franchise Pretty Cure countless times. First time in the first season: Futari wa as Nagisa's dad. And then in the DX movie trilogy as Fusion and finally in Happiness Charge as 1/3 of the generals: Oretsky
I mean it's a cool factoid but far from the best part lol
And his english VA is one of the biggest villains in Disney's Kingdom hearts series and Myotismon in Digimon.

To anyone else here with ADHD, there's a great show named Bluey, and the episode "Army" actually tackles it in a respectful manner, focusing on a character with it.

When I was young, I wanted a live action BoBoBo movie with Dwayne Johnson as Bobobo, Kevin Heart As Don Patch/PapaRocks, and Seth Rogen as Jelly Jiggler, that wouldve been something

One thing I that should be noted with some of the jokes is that they're supposed to be puns in the original Japanese, but due to translation the jokes then end up losing some of the context and so just seem surreal. A good example is the guitar butter one, where the joke is supposed to be that the Japanese words for guitar and butter are pronounced similarly hence the switch
True, but they did a really good job most of the time either coming up with a similarly clever pun in English or replacing it with a less clever but still hilarious non sequitur.

Unofficial Scanlation teams are still translating the manga to this day. And they're actually almost done. It took so long because different teams have picked up and dropped translating it for over a decade. This team seems to be intent on completing it though. I have had most of the lyrics of the theme song taking up residence in my head rent-free for almost 20 years now. And I only just realized the completely casual mention of _nuclear weapons_ they threw in.
During both bridges, which talk about how the singer wants to punch someone's face it, they specifically describe it as "Megatron class punch" (used to describe explosive TNT equivalence), "crash bomb" (typical Japanese euphemism for nuclear weapons in fiction) and "like a Fat Man" (literally the name of the bomb dropped on Hiroshima.

"Stinko de mayo" made me giggle far more than it should have. I am such a child.
