this show forever changed my childhood. my siblings and i would play pretend as the characters every day, and we took it seriously. it's one of my most cherished childhood memories!!
I used to watch this show with my sister all the time. Yumi was our favorite, though we liked all the kids. I have a very strong memory of the first time they materialized Aelita, both because of the moment being big to me as a kid and because of a certain memory attached to it. My parents were out of town at the time, and we were being babysat by our much older brother. While we were watching the show my parents called to check in, and my brother handed the phone over to my sister so she could say hi. Instead of doing that, she put the phone up to her ear and told my parents: "I can't talk, they're about to materialize Aelita!" And then she HUNG UP on them lol. It was so funny.
SO, cool facts about the English translation of Evolution: I was one of those contacted from auditions (I auditioned for Odd and Ulric as well as background characters), and was ghosted when the show failed. I have spoken with 2 others who were "cast" (Jeremy and Yumi if I remember correctly, it's been almost 10 years.) No one was contacted about the cancellation, we were just waiting for our contracts (the email we all got talked about contracts coming in the mail) and just...nothing. I love Lyoko with all my heart, but damn does Evolution piss me off on a personal level.
This show was my first real introduction to Sci-fi as a general concept and it has really influenced a lot of what I like as an adult. The weird 'Monster of the week' formula where the monster is anything from someone being possessed or to gravity reversing was super compelling to child me.
If I had a nickel for every time a French anime-inspired cartoon used the monster-of-the-week formula, I'd have two nickels - which isn't a lot, but it's weird that its happened twice.
25:04 Well, the return to the past isn't actually able to revive people, so Aelita would have entered the code just before they actually died; that said, it doesn't really lessen the experience they had regardless
Yeah, isn't one of the lines from the full theme straight up "So hope you're alive when we reset it to the start" The reason why no one dies is because return to the past stops time for few seconds before it goes back
It's really what makes rttp not feel like a massive cop out. the fact it's not infallible and later revealed to be actually a monkeys paw makes the fact we see them literally inches from what would probably be a very unpleasant death part of the fun.
Jeremy did went into 3d lyoko once... But they didn't show it to the viewers and the characters vowed to never speak about it because his transformation was pretty silly apparently
This series holds a special place in my heart. It's part of the reason I got into anime later in life. I think part of it is because I always got the impression of real danger no matter how silly it was on paper. A few of the threats thrown at the lyoko warriors include nano bots that wipe memory from those they infect, xana figuring out how to reverse gravity to send people to the sky to die, a terminator, using a song to put people into a coma and manipulating the weather in an attempt to make the warriors freeze to death. The original show was also great at making up new threats each episode. There is even an episode when Odd and Yumi go to space. The show was wild and I loved it.
This is still one of my favorite "I guess it's anime" shows ever! Most people go back to Avatar when they think of good animation that wasn't made in Japan but I think Code Lyoko did a pretty decent job too, plus the story really went places.
This show was such a banger, I remember being OBSESSED in middle school (and of course hoping to find a secret supercomputer at my regular public school that would transport me to a virtual world where I could be a superhero).
This show really had childhood me convinced I'd find some world changing technology if I only just had the balls to walk through any doors in our school that said something along the lines of "STAFF ONLY"and also looked like a room no one ever went into. I remember sneaking inside during recess with. Friend, and a girl was showing us this closet that was just inside the girls bathroom(like they had this big entryway before the toilet area, so it's not like we went IN the bathroom, but stepped right to the entrance to open a different door)that was marked for us not to go in. I remember she was hyping the whole thing up, and like I said I was dead convinced we were gonna stumble onto some alternate world. Turns out it just went down some stairs into a small room with a couch and tv and mini fridge(basically a lounge for janitors) but I never even went inside to see it myself because we got caught standing in the entrance of the bathroom(making the whole thing look so much worse than it really was lol)
Here's the thing though, the Lyoko Quantum Supercomputer has its own unique feature by creating light that manipulates anything caught by it especially during Return To The Past which will de-atomize you so it is pretty clear the Lyoko Quantum Supercomputer is special, there are other Supercomputers XANA takes advantage of but they don't have the Virtualization feature the LQS does, the LQS also uses Glowing Ions in Liquid or something and has a specific construction and parts, I don't have any other ideas how the Virtualization Process works but the machine using the same light for the procedure but I do have the Return To The Past basically figured out, it is legit not even Time Travel but the machine manipulating the Quantum Space and needs existing atoms to work with, Death basically has no atoms existing or functioning and is why it can't bring back the dead and damaged Data Boards it had also were unable to be reversed with the RTTP and there is the fact you have DNA and digital code, X.A.N.A. William showed how because you have digital code, there are dangers if it gets affected by anything malicious.
In case it isn't mentioned in the vid, I need everyone to know that last I checked the entire series is available for free on UA-cam in multiple languages. Please go watch and enjoy

I was hoping you two would eventually do a collaboration. I follow both of you guys on here and it's awesome that I get to see two of my favorite UA-camrs work together
I had no idea Thomas Romain was one of the creators of Code Lyoko. Makes perfect sense. The guy's a legend. Amazing artist who lives in Tokyo currently, and has contributed a lot to anime. So cool to see one of my favorite childhood tv shows was also made in part by him.
6:05 Actually Jeremy does enter Lyoko; Technically. He found a way to materialize Aelita, he went into Lyoko to tell her because she left his last DM on read. So, during the transition from Earth to Lyoko, he gets stuck in the limbo between worlds. That way to materialize Aelita had to go to Jeremy, so she had to stay longer.
I remember that one time Jeremy thought a new girl in class with pink hair called Thalia was Aelita who materialized to surprise them but somehow got amnesia. He almost gets this random girl make the lab explode. Also that one time Odd had no problem to roam naked in front of Cici, the mean girl. Because he don't give a fo.
@@ana_d_73 Nobody ever actually died in the show though, well except for and Whoops spoilers! But yeah no people actually died from resetting the past, as stated in the show returning to the past couldn't bring back a dead person, which is a unique exploration to time travel I don't think has been explored before or since Code Lyoko.
I rewatched on Netflix a while ago after so many years. There are a few things I noticed today that I didn't when I was a kid and there were some things I was annoyed at that I wasn't back then. Overall though the show does hold up surprisingly well.
So glad you covered the live action part, the show was huge in France but when revolution hit a lot of people lost interest and was even upset at the cast choice
Man this show ruled my brain as a kid. Right next to Pokémon. I remember reenacting (well trying to) all the cool fight scenes with my friends. Still to this day this show holds a weird special place in my heart. Can I remember any episodes clearly, no. Do I remember half their names..no. but it's such a perfect example of the Y2K era and our general attitude towards tech. Like this feeling of exploring the unknown and not knowing it's limits. I kinda miss that
Code Lyoko is my favorite cartoon of all time! It had alot of realistic school situations. Stress, school, relationships, Parent issues! I think Code Lyoko handled friendship much better then Shonen anime does! The biggest problem with Code Lyoko. The writers kept reckoning character development with the return to the past! Sissy,Gym could’ve been great support characters for the Lyoko warriors. But The writers clearly just did not care :/ Code Lyoko has a very interesting mystery story! But there is a bunch of filler. The episodes where Xanna keeps on destroying everything and possessing everything. Those episodes are complete Filler! You need to watch the episodes that tie in with all of Xana, Aelita and France hopper! I still watch Code Lyoko today! The series means so much to me. 💙🖤💙 They pretty much wasted William as a character, he should have been a Lyoko Warrior for at least a month before making him all evil for the rest of the series.... That wasn't fair to him!!!! :c Code Lyoko is my favorite cartoon of all time. But I feel like it's one of those Series where the creators didn't realize how amazing the show could have been if they actually were consistent with every character.... And every choice! Code Lyoko definitely had amazing story potential but I feel like the creators kept running into holes every other week.... :/ They just didn't want to keep (SIDE) characters being consistent. And pushing them.. That's why Return to the past became an issue for the series. Some characters needed that development but they kept taking it away from them!! :c like Sissy!!! She actually was a nice person but they kept making her into a jerk by going back in time. The Creator said the studio who holds the rights to (Code Lyoko) could technically make new episodes if they wanted to, but there are no promises.
Agreed, I've always believed Sissy should've been part of the team officially. It would've been a great opportunity for her to grow as a character: being more self sufficient and a team player etc plus I think her girly personality would have fit right in and make the group more complete because we have Jermey the nerd, Yumi the tomboy, Aelita the shy girl, Odd the goofball and Ulirch the cool guy
It's interesting to see how derivative Miraculous Ladybug is of Code Lyoko, especially with the "big beam of light undoes all the damage done in the episode" and introducing the origin story later in the run. Kagami also feels like she takes some inspiration from Yumi
Thomas Astruc, the creator of Miracilous worked as a storyboard artist during Code Lyoko's run (you can see his name in very first episode actually) and he definitely made some references to Code Lyoko (none of them to my knowledge are fully confirmed but you can see inspirations and references) - Despair Bear being reference to the very first Code Lyoko episode - Hack-San looking like a XANA's logo - Two parter finale of s5 (The Last Day 1&2)'s Miraculized look very much like ninja's from Code Lyoko Evolution (but the inspiration from their design could very much be Squid Game as well)
This was a slow paced cartoon when it came to action, but it is quite interesting. It actually has more of a slice of life appeal and different. Its not for everyone. I will say that France should be proud of this one with.
As someone living in Quebec with no cable, I spent years seeing Code Lyoko during the morning weekend cartoons. I maybe wouldn't have chosen to watch it if I had more options, but it was definitively a favorite of mine! I feel like a lot of people shared this experience as well. I rewatched it recently with a friend and even though it's not the greatest, it definitively is entertaining! Clearly thinking about using it as inspiration for a future RPG game haha
Dude you have no idea how weird it is for me. I've literally been thinking of this show all day today and this pops up on my feed, from Billiam none the less.
I sit in a very interesting spot where I am very aware and critical of Code Lyoko’s flaws, yet I still have such love for this show and rewatch it once a year
I don't think this is a strange situation at all. You can be critical of media that you like, you can note it's flaws (objective or otherwise) and still love said show. I think Code Lyoko is a flawed show, I still adore it and would say that it's one of my favorite cartoons to come out of the 2000's.
Man I love this show I need to watch it on Netflix I remember one episode where the gym coach helped them and believe them but he lost his memories of all of it when everything had to be reset.
Okay but you definitely need to revisit Xiaolin Showdown because that show was the perfect example of "Avatar was popular so we should copy that formula and animation style"
This was my childhood! Everyone has the same forehead as Haru from Persona 5, aired on CN via Miguzi, and we don't have a Spindly Johnny(Phantom Virus) to be the antagonist! But Odd is indeed this show's Super Shag.
5:50 to be fair, the show’s English dub was dubbed in France, using whatever English speaking voice actors they had, so like 5 people voice the entire show.
So, I am 46, and I dropped out of kids shoes when I was about, uh, 14 or 15 I think. I think the last show I watched episodes of on TV was something like…. Tiny Toons. 1990-1992. But I had a daughter, and when she was about 6 or 7, she got into Code Lyoko, and wanted to share it with me. So I watched it with her! Actually liked it! Good memories.
I remember one episode that freaked me out when gravity got flipped upside down and everyone started falling towards the sky. I was always scared to look up outside after that for a while lol
My personal head canon is Odd, William, and Ulrich rebooting Code Lyoko as adults to turn it into some huge arcade hit. Giving it a more MMO Game vibe while the cortex gets brought back which brings back Xana as a optional boss character that regains its sentient mind but looses its omnipresence. Convince me otherwise that this wouldn't be an epic comeback story as an anime and manga!
I loved this show.. The ost was pretty neat too. Same for Xiaolin showdown, Which, fun fact: Chris Vrenna wrote the theme song to Xiaolin showdown, yes, the guy that played drums in Nine inch nails and wrote the theme to doom 3. It was the 2000’s, anything was possible.
I was always drawing as a kid. I started drawing in 2003/4 with Teen Titans in its PRIME. My childhood best friend and I watched Teen Titans and Code Lyoko and were obsessed. I have a vivid memory of us talking on the phone while on speaker so we could watch it 'together' in 3rd grade. I haven't stopped drawing since because of cartoons like these.
Oh, I drew so many Code Lyoko monsters it was worrying. My most popular OC Monster was Rapticor, which was also my sobriquet on the official Code Lyoko forums. I was a fucking MENACE on those forums. I was everywhere, getting the mods mad, making all kinds of friends, posting fanfiction. Shit was unreal. I love Code Lyoko so much, I literally moved to France. I have a Code Lyoko bedset, I've been to the Middle School which served as the basis of Kadic Academy. I am a teacher for the same grade the Lyoko Guerriers are. I mentioned it when I was interviewed by the region so it's now talked about on a French Government website. This video rules.
Hopefully the continuing fan discussions get the new owners to realize there's still room in the market for the series. Given other French productions like Wakfu and Miraculous have been getting consistent overseas attention, I can't imagine they'd not want to get in on that themselves.
Only memory I had in 5th grade was talking about Code Lyoko to my friends as we all try to figure out what was gonna happen next. We try to come up with our own headcannons to see which one of us were right. Of course, we were all wrong but it was fun hah. ALSO with Miguzi they had a contest for viewer to create their own alien character to be the next buddy on the block. I entered and saw the winner and I got super salty.

Part of me is jealous of everyone who were kids and teens when CODE Lyoko was airing. Miguzi took over the weekday afternoon action block position during my senior year in high school. I was much more focused on spending time outside the house, with my girlfriend at the time, and really only watched Cartoon Network much later in the evening... so Adult Swim and Toonami's Saturday evening block. Pretty much, unless I happened to be home, I mostly saw scattered episodes of CODE Lyoko, Totally Spies, Ben10, and the later seasons of Teen Titans.

Aelita was my cartoon crush
I completely forgot about that, but it was one of the most emotional episodes of anything I've ever watched
This story was great, I lold.
Pls I can't imagine what your parents were thinking after you hung up. That's so funny
Your parents reaction:🤷♀️
SO, cool facts about the English translation of Evolution:
I was one of those contacted from auditions (I auditioned for Odd and Ulric as well as background characters), and was ghosted when the show failed.
I have spoken with 2 others who were "cast" (Jeremy and Yumi if I remember correctly, it's been almost 10 years.)
No one was contacted about the cancellation, we were just waiting for our contracts (the email we all got talked about contracts coming in the mail) and just...nothing.
I love Lyoko with all my heart, but damn does Evolution piss me off on a personal level.
yeah, i've read that online as well
So evolutions even worse than i thought. Damn.
This show was my first real introduction to Sci-fi as a general concept and it has really influenced a lot of what I like as an adult. The weird 'Monster of the week' formula where the monster is anything from someone being possessed or to gravity reversing was super compelling to child me.
I feel like France specifically does this right time after time.
Yeah, isn't one of the lines from the full theme straight up "So hope you're alive when we reset it to the start"
The reason why no one dies is because return to the past stops time for few seconds before it goes back
It's really what makes rttp not feel like a massive cop out. the fact it's not infallible and later revealed to be actually a monkeys paw makes the fact we see them literally inches from what would probably be a very unpleasant death part of the fun.
Jeremy did went into 3d lyoko once... But they didn't show it to the viewers and the characters vowed to never speak about it because his transformation was pretty silly apparently
It’s actually revealed in the sequel novels. No joke it’s a green Peter Pan costume.
@@calebgoodman3028 i must research this!!!! :O
@@pedroxqui no joke, Jeremy was like a elf or something in the novels.
@@calebgoodman3028 oh wow! I'm gonna look it up I thought they just left it up to our imaginations and blueballsed us like EA or something. Thanks~
Was about to point this out. It was shown off screen and apparently he was traumatized.
It’s funny how many good “Does this count as anime?” shows there are
the creator has been an artist in the real anime industry for a while now so... mission truly accomplished
Miguzi looks a lot like (Canadian kids channel) YTV’s branding from the mid 2000s. Wonder if the same studio made those graphics.
Since half of the imported shows were french Canadian, yes that is true
Possibly. IIRC, Miguzi was a short lived replacement for Toonami
Fancy seeing you here Geoff.
Hey Geoff! Stay safe
Can we all agree on one thing...
Jim is the best character in the entire show.
All his friends call him Jimbo
This isn't even a conversation.
Jim was a hardass but when shit went down he always had the kid's safety as his top priority.
@@murdercloak7578 Jimbo Slice
The only thing bad about Jim was that they erased his memory mid-series.
It's so cool going back to the show and seeing the progress and improvement made throughout the four seasons.
What I liked about the show was Jeremy's devotion and hard work to being Aelita back to reality. He may not have been the beat fighter, but respect.
Lol he was the first to simp for an egirl
Holy hell I had completely forgotten about Miguzi and just hearing that name unlocked memories that have been buried for nearly decades
@@nignamedmutt7270 YO that was the alternate universe bro, they wiped your mind, you went through a big adventure with everyone
Please go watch and enjoy
yeah, i rewatch it once a year on their official english channel
Loved working with you on both videos man!
I’ll be honest this is the first time I’ve heard of your channel but looking at some of the videos you’ve done has reminded me of so many shows I loved as a kid that I’ve never seen anyone else talk about, you’ve earned at least one more subscriber from this collab!
I was wondering how both of you released a video at the same time 🤔
I was hoping you two would eventually do a collaboration.
He also does actually full go in one episode but it's never shown because apparently it looks so silly everyone laughs at him
Yup one of my favorite episodes but we never got to see him
Yeah he goes in once. He gets Armour that's like a calvary knight. He rides a Sheep as his Nobel steed and his weapon is....a large Salami.
@@wafoofi1244 Brother?
Yeah he goes in once. He gets Armour that's like a calvary knight. He rides a Sheep as his Nobel steed and his weapon is....a large Salami.
XD
Code Lyoko holds up to this day. It’s weird and perfectly 2000’s.
I rewatched it a couple years ago. Can confirm
Rewatching it on Netflix now and totally agree. The plot went so hard at times, people died when they were resetting the past!
@@ana_d_73 would prefer they send their memories into the past like steins;gate tho
25:00 You might know this already, but they mentioned a couple of times in the show that if you Die, Return to the past doesn't bring you back.
Code Lyoko still feels like a fever dream sometimes
So glad you covered the live action part, the show was huge in France but when revolution hit a lot of people lost interest and was even upset at the cast choice
I still can't get over the foreheads man
Loved code Lyoko when I was a kid.
Was really stoked when I heard there was to be a reboot, then I heard it was gonna be live action :(
yeah, the live action was absolute dogshit. I was so disappointed. I couldn't even stomach the entire first episode. It was a terrible idea to do that
CODE LYOKO is still my favorite animated show ever. The plot was great, the characters are iconic, and a legendary soundtrack
I kinda miss that
Yes same
You know it’s going to be a good day when both Billiam and Fringe release a Code Lyoko video at the same time.
Coincidence? I think NawT! lol
I’m glad someone else noticed that lol
@@Dubiousthinking you’re glad someone else noticed something that is literally mentioned in the first few minutes of the video?
Right? I was about to ask if they did it on purpose, and it's awesome that it was actually a collab!
But The writers clearly just did not care :/
Code Lyoko has a very interesting mystery story!
They pretty much wasted William as a character, he should have been a Lyoko Warrior for at least a month before making him all evil for the rest of the series.... That wasn't fair to him!!!! :c
Code Lyoko is my favorite cartoon of all time.
Kagami also feels like she takes some inspiration from Yumi
i deeply believe odd walked so chat noir could run
Thomas Astruc, the creator of Miracilous worked as a storyboard artist during Code Lyoko's run (you can see his name in very first episode actually) and he definitely made some references to Code Lyoko (none of them to my knowledge are fully confirmed but you can see inspirations and references)
- Despair Bear being reference to the very first Code Lyoko episode
- Hack-San looking like a XANA's logo
- Two parter finale of s5 (The Last Day 1&2)'s Miraculized look very much like ninja's from Code Lyoko Evolution (but the inspiration from their design could very much be Squid Game as well)
This was a slow paced cartoon when it came to action, but it is quite interesting.
Great video! Although I unironically love S1 & 2 Jeremy's voice because of how goofy it is.
This is so weird, I've literally just been thinking about doing a watch through of this..haha, this show was soooooo much fun.
Dude you have no idea how weird it is for me. I've literally been thinking of this show all day today and this pops up on my feed, from Billiam none the less.
3 days ago I was searching on youtube if someone had done a retrospective on code lyoko
any time i hear a SPECK of code lyoko theme i get a raging nostalgia burn from how hard it hits my soul
Yessss I was just thinking about this show the other day and wondering how no one has made a video about this yet!!
Man I love this show I need to watch it on Netflix I remember one episode where the gym coach helped them and believe them but he lost his memories of all of it when everything had to be reset.
Code Lyoko was awesome, and the ending made me tear up. Great nostalgic series.
Okay but you definitely need to revisit Xiaolin Showdown because that show was the perfect example of "Avatar was popular so we should copy that formula and animation style"
Xiaolin Showdown came two years earlier though. Avatar didn’t even exist yet.
Xiaolin Showdown did come out first. I remember being into it and Jackie Chan Adventures.
Yup. Jeremy and Aelita are voiced by the same woman.
@@Domi39 In the French version it was the Jeremie and Odd. The voice was so high on Odd that it was very obvious he was voiced by a woman.
That one still sticks with me! The episode where people were turned into stone statues too!
This show was absolutely rad when I was a kid. I remember coming back to it and watching some episodes in French while taking French in high school.
I LOVED this show as a kid. I remember one day my school had a gas leak and while we were evacuating I was thinking "oh snap this must be XANA."
Nothing brings me greater joy than when someone makes the occasional code lyoko video
It's always a pleasant treat.
Quest for infinity is my jam! I rewatch all of code lyoko every year! Thanks for covering it!
I loved this show..
The ost was pretty neat too.
Same for Xiaolin showdown,
Which, fun fact: Chris Vrenna wrote the theme song to Xiaolin showdown, yes, the guy that played drums in Nine inch nails and wrote the theme to doom 3.
Finding out the French made this brought me immense closure. This show used to haunt me as a kid.
*the scyphozoa wants to know your location*
It is the frenchest looking thing I've ever seen
The French made a lot of childhood cartoons, if I remember correctly, Totally spies was also a French made cartoon.
The beginning violin part of the theme song was my text tone in high school. Everyone I knew loved that show.
If someone actually make a virtual world like this for real, that would be a dream come true!
Billiam and Jordan dropping at the same time on the same memorable childhood show... yeah it's gonna be a good weekend.
I was just about to post this too lol I saw both notifications come up and I'm like wow ok then
Probably because it’s a joint collab video.
Code lyoko Is one of the Greatest cartoon show during the 2000's and im so glad a lot of people remember this show! And the theme song is just so beautiful and it absolutely rocks!
i loved this show so much. probably the first cartoon i ever got obsessed with
Part of me is jealous of everyone who were kids and teens when CODE Lyoko was airing.
The fact that Jordan Fringe dropped a code lyoko video at literally the same time is so damn funny to me
Yeah what the fuck lmao imma watch both 😂
Gotta watch em both lol
Billiam mentions it was a collab in the video
Yall. Clean your ears out and rewatch the start xD
The fact you people weren’t smart enough to figure this out on your own is so damn funny to me
Glad someone is talking about this show! Nice video.
anyone else see that Jordan Fringe posted a code lyoko retrospective literally at the exact same time that billiam posted this? like down to the hour. I'm looking forward to the expected crossover billiam and am sure I won't be disappointed:)
Ah yes. thank you Billiam and Jordan
I absolutely loved Code Lyoko! When my wife and I first met in highschool (over 13 years ago), we actually bonded over our very similar likes, and Code Lyoko was one of the biggest bonds we had. The show holds a very special place in my heart.
This was the first show I remember being OBSESSED with as a kid! It blew me away
Jeremy's english VA kinda sounded like *Tristan Timothy Taylor* in Yugioh Abridged series lol
The forehead budget on this show was insane
The "Show Origins" section coming in the middle of the video was genius and caught me off guard. 10/10
Man I loved everything about this series as a kid.
Me and my friend created a board game, with complicated rules about this cartoon
Code lyoko was such a great show. Opening song was CATCHY and it was a perfect mix of animated and 3D animation but damn the amount of PTSD these kids must have
This show had a very cool and imaginative idea. Maybe someday something will execute it just as well as the original run of the show did.
This show randomly came to my mind the other day, the timing of this episode couldn’t have been timed better….
Modern code lyoko game with gameplay like persona 5 where you have daily life segments that affect your stats in lyoko
This show was hidden deep in my memories.
i loved this show so much when i was younger. this and atla were what my brother and i bonded over then and still talk about now
When Billiam refered to one of the CL monster enemies as "the sexy one". I got very worried for a second there. But I ended up bursting out laughing a second later. Good video!
You mean William
Code Lyoko was my favorite show growing up! I still love watching through it every couple years or so
every couple of years I remember Code Lyoko and get hit with a huge wave of nostalgia for one of my favorite shows growing up. Thinks for being this year's wave :)
The contrast with the sheer sarcasm in this video and the more chillaxed analysis in Jordan's is just perfect.
It has so many flaws, but Code Lyoko is still in my top 10 favorite shows
Oh hey, just noticed the animation error at 7:05
Always funny to see
I never hated William as Xana minion, I just wish he was in the real world too pretending to help the gang stop Xana but really helping him in small ways that ties into the next episode.
its always so neat to see two or more youtubers i enjoy watching collaborating on something. great job both of you!
Update: After watching this video, I've watched the first 12 episodes and am planning to binge the rest of the series. Thank you and thank you to Jordan as well for getting me in the mood to watch this show again
Code Lyoko was a show I watched before getting into anime and I have so much nostalgia for it
God this show really unlocks deep memories
Best of the best collaboration of 2022. My two favorite nostalgic UA-cam creators on one topic.
Before Miraculous revive the Franime (French anime), we had this.
P.S: Evolution is the worst (the live action adaptation).
This was one of my favorite kid shows as a kid. I legit bought hand held fans at the mall, put an episode on tv, and pretended to be Yumi and throw them around. Aelita was my fav character, I love her so much I can’t exactly explain why
