Finally, a Good Percy Jackson Adaptation

- The Percy Jackson show is already halfway through with its first ever season on Disney Plus. So what better time to take a look and see if this beloved book series can be elevated through another medium.
I love the Percy Jackson series and ever since I was in middle school, I couldn't get enough of the son of Poseidon. I'm super excited to take a look at this show and see what the hype is about.

The show is picking up but I feel like the story felt blocky in the beginning. It didn't flow very well and it feels like they were trying to be too faithful to the script. I feel like they spent too much time on things they really didn't need to instead of developing the characters. And annabeth kinda comes off as mean and rude for no reason. I hope it ends with a bang tho.
I do agree, and I think it took me a bit to get used to everything too. I feel like the actors are why I was most excited for the show so I'm hoping we get to see them get to act more like themselves as the show gets rolling.

I dont think it is a good adaptation. The direction is awful at times, the script feels awkward, the acting comes and goes and i dont think the excuse that they are kids should stand, and the changes from the book miss out on tension and every cool element that excited us, for example the casino was totally pointless and nothing like the book. The 'censorship' because its a kids show, for example with Gabe and Medusa has made me lost hope about actual battles and danger. It feels like a bad fanfiction Rick wanted to get monetized for, I'm sorry to say.
No need to apologize, all great points! And I definitely agree the sixth episode with the casino left me wanting more. I didn't like the changes they made with that part of the story, but I'm hoping for a great last two final episodes (didn't get a chance to watch the latest episode yet).
ngl i think grover could have had a better casting or better dialogue with a little more humour
I personally like the casting of Grover, but I agree it would be nice to see more of the humor come out. Hopefully as the character gets developed throughout we'll start to see more of that.

As opposed to it being a movie or generally a visual adaptation?
Because I think it's way better as a show than a movie, since there is so much more time to put everything in and with how much happens in Percy Jackson in a pretty short time, it's definitely better to have that time in a show.
And if you meant you're upset about a visual adaptation in itself then I don't really get that either, because I think it opens up so many more people to the story and while it's never gonna be perfect or just like the books, it will still introduce this amazing story to so many more people that don't read. I personally think that's quite beautiful and a great series like PJO deserves that sort of attention.
@@HappyMusicFox I get what your saying its just i think it might have been better to have maybe a few movies. Kinda like the hunger games or the maze runner. the previous movies tried and failed though. The visuals are okay in the show but its also kinda cringey but then again thats Percy lol. My main issue is that the hsow has a budget of 15 million. Where as they couldve had over 100 million for a movie. I really think if they had the right person to make a movie it could be so much better. And yea the show is really good I love it. But I also lovepercy jackson and think they could have been bigger, better and brighter
I see where you're coming from and although I'm glad they made it a show so we can spend more time with connecting with Percy and the gang, I do agree that it would've been nice to see a Percy Jackson movie with the love and attention this show got. If only they got it right the first time.
