So cool to see the houses that were in your family's past. Don't ever apologize for showing us something a little different, your content is informative and educational. Also very interesting.
I came here over a year ago to watch some dude in America crushing cars...I watched one video and subscribed. Today, i felt kinda honoured to be shown where you grew up 👍 Ive loved the journey buddy on both here and on More Adventures made from Scratch channel. Charlie 🇬🇧
Silas, that truck ceiling is absolutely amazing with all those vintage stickers and is absolutely pop art in it's most organic form. I wish they could all be saved but I love your artistic views on everything that can be saved. Oh well I just finished watching and they already have been scrapped 😕
@@AdventuresMadeFromScratch I understand. That's why I stopped doing videos. Between working my regular job and my eBay business selling vintage slot cars and model kits UA-cam videos had to go. I was working 7 days a week. Mabybe when I retire I'll go back to videos. Take Care.
Thank You Silas for Your videos and esp. those where You search "artifacts" in the abandoned cars. Nice house You grew-up. God bless You and Your family; and shoot more videos. You are great!
Thanks for sharing your memories and adventures. I always find it neat to go back and see where me and members of my family have lived. I currently live in my childhood home. Lucky turn of events made it possible to buy 3 decades after I hade moved out. Stay safe. Peace
First off I want to thank you for the great content. One thing I have noticed, you bought these trucks over 3 years ago and yet didn't go get them. Understanding of the issue of junk in the way. But then get frustrated with customers not being promp with picking up things. I know you're busy, a business and have a life. I know and been on both sides of the fence of selling n buying no shows or no response back. It's a frustrating business at times for sure. Running a "junk yard" has always been a dream of mine. Keep up the great content.
It was a year, not 3 years. But also I said that I HAD to wait on the property owners because they didn’t want the stuff around them to go until they figured out what they were keeping. It wasn’t my choice. I don’t let stuff sit that long unless the property owner asks me to wait.
Hi there once more Mr Silas. Blue Kansas sky,s old trucks and junk yards. Thank you and your dad for your hard work recovering the old trucks. I did like the cab stickers, ( what i could see) never mind. Until your next download be safe from England.
There is something called abandonment. If you leave something for airtime whatever that might be in Kansas, then they could claim abandonment. No I'm not saying it's right. Cost more to Put up a legal fight, then if you just let it be. Also probably no written agreements. Also with family members fighting with themselves....... Sounds like a pretty big negative list. For what it's worth I walked away from a deal where I can buy up here around 500 classic cars over time for $300 to $800 each. I stay overtime because I don't have that kind of money laying around to buy them all. Then everything went south. Some family members were wanting me to buy them and get out. Other I think 🤔 would have shot me. Even though this was a few years ago it was still a great deal and the only money I lost was what I would have made on selling them.
Nice Adventure getting those 2 Garbage Trucks out off there ! Great to see Your old Neighbourhood again ! Fantastic Video and many Cheers from Australia !!!!
Great video with the square body trash trucks and old homes. Always good to see how they look now. I have looked up our old homes and it’s interesting to see them on Google Earth and Street View

Should always check inside the hopper & dump ,back in the mid 2000's we literally found out a garbage truck going for scrap /sale had about 400 plus crushed cast aluminum BBQ's all crushed up in its inside ......bonus aluminum haulage, also the garbage trucks got resold & exported instead of scrapped as they turned out to be in good working order with the compactors as well as the actual trucks

Silence I think you did a great job the way you let how you were treated go off your back like water on a duck 🦆. It's also a good example for other people. He talked about this happening before to you. I'm sure it relieves a little bit just to share. Also it's nice you took us all down memory lane with you where you grew up at at least in part. So why you are such a hard worker.
Cut the roof off the first truck. Someone could suspend it from a shop ceiling. Those old stickers are cool! People display bumpers for the same thing. Personally, stickers are for the tag annually, but the rat-rod community loves stuff like that
Years ago I worked at a Ford Dealership a local company had a small fleet of garbage trucks. They would bring them to us for service but none of the mechanics would work on them because of the smell, they finally got one guy to work on them by offering him triple what the normal rate was
I'm puzzled why you don't want to buy a chest or head mount for your cameras? It would make life a lot easier for you and give you hands-free when you want to. It's very easy to use you can pull the camera in and out anytime you want. And they're not that expensive. I've used them for many years before I retired. And that was years ago and I gotten a lot better over the years

I love those c40-c70 square body grain truck we used them alot of years on the farm
Yeah torch the dump body and sell van and. Chassis
Very interesting video. A lot of work getting those trucks out of there. Nice seeing where you and your family used to live. 😊😊
I would like to see more of your homes you lived in and where you went to school and other sources of interest in your hometown!
Great that you save the badges I love that sort of stuff for the workshop wall!
We all had that one cranky old lady that live on our street 😂 Thank you Silas for another great video.
Our street had TWO cranky old sisters in one house with a vicious little ankle nipper named Penny.
So there, nah nah nah nah nah!
🤓👍

Cool garbage trucks Silas, you never know what $$ you could receive from these relics! Super glad you’re back doing what you do best!!
Must be 73 or 74. Worth bucks in chassis
The cabs can be used on the smaller trucks, same as on my 73 C30 utility truck

Silas, that truck had Armstrong Steering!
I got a couple of those memories too about where I lived when I was a kid thanks for showing
The newer vintage ones. Remember the ones that looked like a giant barrel.
Repaired a 1930 model a Ford garbage truck once.

“ FUN” WHEN YOU HAVE SOMETHING WITH AIR BRAKES, AND
SPRING PARKING BRAKES , WITH RUSTY BRAKE DRUMS!!
Consider getting a tripod for your camera. Maybe even a magnet mount to allow you to set your camera down while working
Yes I have both. Just don’t always remember them

Seems as tho when a truck is turned into a trash truck, they just don't live long. Happy to see those old homes you lived in
howdy Mr. Silas 👍👍
Nice departure from the show and tell, could this be the same place those 3 wheeled mail trucks came from?
Stayin tuned! 👍🤠
Well That's A Lot Of Garbage Silas !!! Lol ! 🤭👍
Next time. Pick front end a little str8en tires... versus trying to turn on grnd
That was great Salis enjoyed it thank you for sharing and your time was really great never miss a video and can't wait for next video.
New CASE loader? U guys have good luck with them? They were never a thought with me until I started watching your show! now I want one 😆
What will you guys do with them? The compactor body on them is considerably rare, along with the truck
Do a "will it start?' on those trucks.
As someone who works on garbage trucks, watch out, they are driven hard and are often overloaded
Cool intro music, you're getting better at this all the time
"adventures with Dad"....ive had quite a few of those ....we're both too old now for these types of adventures though...
