A few Columbo writers worked on Star Trek Deep Space 9 & Voyager(which happens to be the series starring "Mrs Columbo" Kate Mulgrew). Tuvok & Odo would often do the "one more thing" routine when handling investigations. It first started in the episode "Necessary Evil" written by Columbo contributor Peter Allan Fields.
That was awesome. My mom watched the Fatman regularly, and I'm a late-coming Columbo fan. Conrad was also the original Marshall Dillon on the radio version of Gunsmoke (which you can still find online.) The Gunsmoke radio episodes I listened to were often a murder mystery disguised as a western. Now I need to find where the Fatman is streaming these days.
Columbo? Best show on TV hands downnn And you’re the best guy I know to cover it all, along with all those little mysteries that spring from it! Can’t wait to see more!
Hahah, I haven’t actually heard of this show before. Boy, the actor who played the ‘Fatman’ must’ve been proud of that character credit. 😝 Your voiceover audio has gotten really good! Do you do much processing on it as you edit it to balance off levels and whatnot? _(Ps - that’s awesome you’re offering a giveaway too! I respectfully withdraw from the contest though, so as not to take it from someone who may be a legitimate fan of the show/your channel!)_
The wife (that’s Mrs. Echoes of Columbo) got me a slick Yeti microphone that lets you adjust the gain and everything. It’s made the audio much smoother

Love hearing Conrad on old-time radio! He was in a lot of “Escape” episodes.

Wow, that’s high praise! It’s my favorite show - can’t help but notice all these “little things”…

Veteran Columbo killer Dick Van Dyke was also the killer in the first episode of Matlock.
Now that really brings it full circle!
And who can forget the iconic homage in American Dad- Wheels and the Legman? Here’s to 500 followers and many many more!
Just think, people who never saw “Jake and the Fatman” are missing out on all these killer references!
I always had a vague idea of Jake and the Fatman; it lived in my brain with Murder She Wrote and In the Heat of the Night.

@@EchoesOfColumbo she sounds like a keeper.
What, no Dean Hargrove and Diagnosis: Murder?
I do mention Diagnosis - but would you believe I’ve never seen an episode of that one? A gaping hole in my TV mystery education.
