The Greenhouse Jungle | Echoes of Columbo

- Often written off as cheesy and over-the-top, "The Greenhouse Jungle" is an ambitious Season 2 entry that any Columboneer would be advised to revisit.
Cathy Goodland also gets my vote as the series' most underappreciated beauty.

i LOVED the scene where Columbo debates whether to have his chilli with or without beans. Top 10 Columbo moment there.
Always love when one of these new videos pop up and even better when it packs a Seagal reference! Love the score in this one too and always think Jarvis Goodland is a lot of fun.
When are we making our Under Siege II collaboration?
@@EchoesOfColumbo Haha I'm game if you are! We can work something out for sure.
I like the whole columbo hitting the ball saying 'I wonder how they knew that sir'
‘Boy I tell ya I just can’t miss a shot, can I?’
Great video as always!
One of my favs! Ray is a great villain.
Absolutely agree! This is one of THE most underrated episodes, and Milland is an amazing foe. I watch it a shameful amount.
Sacred 69. Skidmarks. This has it all!
What a nice review. The Greenhouse does indeed stray but not too far. These set ups and pay offs are good examples of how to write. Which sadly is missing from TV now, and the gotcha is beautiful. I too enjoy going back to this Jungle often. Thanks for sharing.
Writing like this is a lost art, but it’s cool to see how many people still appreciate this show!
I would love to see a review of Undercover - the oddest episode ever, and still one of my favorites.
GREAT channel! Love these videos :)
Thanks so much! Stay tuned for some new stuff I’m working on, including “Identity Crisis” and the perpetually pissed Robert Culp!
Always happy to see one of these videos. Would have loved to see Sgt Wilson in the later ABC seasons as a higher rank to Columbo but still reverential to him. All his scenes being, ‘Come on Lieutenant, I keep pushing for your promotion.’ Columbo only going ‘Sir, no offense, but I like rolling down in the dirt. Keeps me in shape.’
I’d have loved to see that ‘new’ Wilson episode! He would be one superior officer that would never try to pull Columbo off a case - “I’ve worked with the Lieutenant before… if he suspects something, you can be sure he’s on the right track!”
Yes, it is a memorable episode for sure. Ray Milland's one dimensional bellowing style makes it difficult, though, to find the chemistry Columbo enjoys with many of the killers, which is generally such a highlight. Not sure that was written in the script or simply Milland's chosen way of playing him. This shift of emphasis makes the show in the eyes of many slightly inferior, yet it is very eventful and there's not a dull moment. Wilson is an interesting character who could have been used more than twice, although i wouldn't want Columbo to have a permanent sidekick. I think it would have detracted from the focus being on his great deduction skills. It seems a non essential episode in many ways, but nevertheless highly enjoyable.
It’s always important to pay attention to the skid marks. They could teach you so much… 👀
Heheh, good stuff, dude! Lots of quick cuts! Also like that you’re using the ‘cards’ to promote your other vids! 🤘
I learn from the best!
