Nice video! I myself picked up a GT with matte black wheels and tan trim a few months ago after watching the car market for over a year. It's my daily driver and one of the most ridiculous purchases I've ever made. But the smile I get every time I drive it, totally worth it. Cheers from Canberra, Australia
I actually have averaged 33.1 over 22k miles, highway and city. . . Very pleased with the mileage. . . Also, at 6'2", and 210 lbs, I'm quite comfortable. Every 10 days, I make a 5 hour drive, one way, home. Four days later, I make the reverse drive back to work. Again, I'm quite comfortable.
Thanks for mentioning what this car is good for: Small country curvy roads that not a lot of other cars can do at top speeds. This car is very nimble and maneuverable and needs a good driver... Not a driver that can drive fast from point A to B on a straight line...
I've got a 16 club and I love it. If your looking into getting one. Here's some tips. If your looking to save money get the sport. If you want all the bells and whistles, and comfort get the gt. If you want the best driving experience get a club, and for the love of god a manual. I am 5'11" and I have no issue fitting on either side.
So right off the bat, the MX-5 is the best selling roadster of all time, not necessarily the best selling sports car. For example, there have been around 1.6M Corvettes produced since 1953, compared to about 1.0M MX-5s produced since 1990. But yeah, no matter how you slice it, the MX-5 Miata is has been pretty popular.
CarBuzz, you missed the OTHER location for a cup holder (Passenger side, on the right side of the center console. That's where I keep mine, as I drive by myself 90% of the time.) Also, the CLUB is the preferred model, because the GT doesn't come with the performance upgrades the CLUB has. HOW do you not know that?
Well done review. In addition to trunk space and a telescoping steering wheel, I would gladly trade the immovable annoying screen on the upper trims, for a glove box and door bins or better drink-holes. I also wonder, if we're saving weight and selling to purists, would manual steering in the base trim make for lightness instead of that electric stuff? Seems to work okay for the Alfa 4C. Change steering and add some sway bars? There's just a couple of tweaks...as usual.
i have a grand touring in blue just love it my only knock on mazda is you cant mix and match only limited slip on club version manuel which is kind of strange did drive a club couldnt really feel much difference in ride
Thanks for telling us what the "Max Height" for this ride. I am just over six feet and remember renting a Miata on holiday in Europe it was great except after an hour or so in the driver's seat my left knee began burn from the driving position. I am sure there is a way to customize/slightly modify for drivers at 6'1"-6'3". This car wipes the Porsche Targa off my list, as I currently cannot afford it. Just a little more leg room would seal the deal!
Same problem here being 6"3 (191cm).. The new MX5 (and 124 Fiat) is just impossible to sit in properly with the roof up for me.. So I bought a used BMW E89 Z4 30i instead..
i am 1,83m (according to google thats pretty much exactly 6 feet) and i would say i am on the upper end for proper seating in the mx-5. depending on your upper body/leg length ratio you may fit if taller but i dont think that would be really comfortable. btw: at least the MY 2019 now has a telescoping steering rack, may be more comfortable for some people.
After test driving manual transmissions in Mazda mx-5 club and touring, Fiat 124 Abarth and Lusso, Porsche Cayman, Nissan 370Z, Toyota 86, Mustang V8, Camaro 4 turbo, Camaro V6, Camaro V8, Corvette, I purchased a 2017 Corvette. The Mazda mx-5 manual transmission is unreliable (go to Mazda website for TSB on mazda mx-5). I bought a red 2017 Corvette 1LT manual transmission with performance exhaust, black wheels, red calipers, red seats, carbon badge package.
however the transmission problems should be gone when buying a new one. but one should do a bit of research when buying a used one that was built in 2015/2016.
When over 6"1 or 185cm, forget about this car.. It's to small.. I tried it because after owning a classic Fiat 124 Sport Spider in the past I wanted a modern roadster again as a daily.. Tired this car, and no go with my 191cm or 6"3, impossible to sit in it with the roof up.. I was so dissapointed and surprised at the same time because I fitted ok in the classic Fiat, but ok.. So I bought a used BMW E89 Z4 30i (classic NA 258HP) instead, much heavier, luxurious and more powerfull car, but just as much fun I think and arguably better as a daily because of the hard-top.. It;s just a shame they had to make these new MX5's and 124's so small as I would have loved to be able to buy one new for once.. The BMW Z4 I have now was new close to 80K euro, no way I can afford that..
Not so. I'm 6'2", and weigh 215 lbs. I fit very comfortably. In fact, this is my 2nd Miata. I previously owned a 2002. I have no idea why YOU don't fit.
yes, because the shifter isnt decoupled from the transmission (which bounces around depending on engine and rear axle load) to give you a more direct shift feeling. its nothing to worry about.

I thought 'unboxing' mean't that you had to take an item out of its box/packaging? or does it just mean 'review' these days? If anyone can educate me on this I would appreciate it, thanks.

Just got a '17 RF Grand Touring. I've had an NA and just stepped up from an '07 NC. The ND is an amazing vehicle even with its minor compromises.
Jason's Chronicles it’s been 4 months. How you liking the car?

Ceramic metallic Club with the BBS/Brembo package: best purchase I've ever made.
looks nice but over $50k CAD for 150hp car no thanks lol
Nice review. One caveat - if you purchase this car in the states you are required by federal law to autocross it.
Vroom Vlog r really

I love this car 🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗

Great video! Covered everything man

Great review, thank you ,
I have yet to take delivery of a car in a box in a long lifetime.

I'm 6'2" and I've had an ND for about two months now and have no issues with the height and space, fits me like a jacket

omg yes its even manual!!!!
duh
What car do you drive jay
And in isreal it cost more than $50000
What a nice deal
my dream car and stay dream only...in my country this car is definitely not affordable
the club has and LSD, the GT doesn't. I don't get why mazda USA does that. in canada both models get the LSD
what if youre only 5 foot tall? can you drive this thing?
Rodolfo Cunan yeah
I want to buy this car could you help me.how buy this car from foreign to india
Have you unboxed the Nissan GTR?
I want you to review a dodge challenger hellcat unless you did before.
It's a sports car. To say the MX5 is "not all about speed" appears to infer that the car lacks sports car performance.
Saturn 5 must be the best sports car then it has a massive top speed
Can i get this car in to india??

there is a difference comparing Miata with a corvette. 160hp vs 600+hp

Did your car come in a box? How do you call this an unboxing?

some one knows if is normal feel a vibration in the stiffshift when you left your hand over it?
Yup. :)
yes, because the shifter isnt decoupled from the transmission (which bounces around depending on engine and rear axle load) to give you a more direct shift feeling. its nothing to worry about.
@@Digi20 yeah, also it means that the gearbox is directly coupled to the engine without wires so it's a real machine, not a computer...
Unboxing?
Woah do you pay more for red paint every Miata is basically red
This car can be considered as wealthy people or middle class in the u.s.a ?
I am middle class and have one. It is my daily driver. No wife or kids. I know some upper middle class people that own them as a weekend car.
I wonder how this would look with four doors
your joking right
With the rear doors acessing the fuel tank ?
or just back seats
The only ones that say it’s a girly car are youtubers like you, too much talking man, it looks like this video it’s about your taste not the car.
I'm 6'3" I enjoy driving a small car like a manic. Anyone my size have any comments about room.?
Jay Henry I’m 6 feet. LOVE IT!🥰
Can't keep up with a well driven Corvette, but it will pass most stock actual British roadsters without much effort.
Not on a twisty road! Check out videos of the Tail Of The Dragon videos! Miatas eat Corvettes, and other much more powerful cars for lunch!
I just got back from MINIS on the Dragon. :)
I have to admit, I wouldn't want to take a Corvette on the Dragon. If you can keep it on the road, you're a good driver.
Porche is a TWO SYLLABLE word.
Gary Utley AND the correct spelling is Porsche. 😉
That infotainment screen is as fugly as it is in sundry Mercedes. I understand the ergonomics and sightlines, but . . . .

Nope! getting an automatic rf :)
YOU SOUNDS LIKE MICHAEL J FOX
1:26 why its moving :v?
It's an engine... what do you think it's supposed to do?
unboxing
Nice commercial kid.
I driven a manual car for like less then an hour and I fuckint hate it.
A car like this without manual gears is nonsense.
You're not a car guy...
The fiata is better..... Just saying....
nope... Or as Trump would say, WRONG!
mx5 looks much better
Fiat 124 spyder??
