I cooked this pasta (without Vodka ) and its amazing. But lemme tell u guys. If u want that extra kick , add 1 tbsp of chilli powder before the tomato paste, to the onions n garlic and then add chilli flakes as well. After adding the tomato paste ,add half tbsp sugar as well. It really does enhance the flavor. Trust me. I tried many other versions too and this was the final recipe that i came upon. 😎😎 Please do try ✌🏻✌🏻

Yeah that's an absurdly small amount of 2 amazing ingredients. I can always tell people who don't cook much by their precise amounts of certain ingredients. Garlic is delicious and it has a ton of health benefits so why use such a small amount? I literally have never used just one clove of garlic. It's silly to me. And shallots are yummy also,so unless your going on a first date and are worried about garlic/onion breathe, add a normal amount. It will be way better.

@@12dakis the vodka brings out the umami flavor of the tomato paste. This recipe is similar to Bon Appetite’s vodka penne recipe! I usually add a full Tablespoon or 1.5 Tbsp when I make it, but I would really recommend 2 Tbsp for a good kick

Once my 6 year old walked in on me pouring red wine into our stew, she looked at me and the walked out immediately. I got confused at first but didn’t think much of it. She chose to eat pasta that night, again, I didn’t think much of this. The next day, she went to school and told her teacher I gave them wine for supper but she refused it!!! Needless to say, I got a call from the teacher and had to explain myself. Obviously, that also became a teachable moment about the science behind alcohol and it’s structured!!!
I literally tried this w/o vodka because I cannot but it's SO good. The sauce clings onto the pasta a lot and you just get these bursting amounts of spice and flavor from every bite. 10/10!!!
To make it spicier, add the red pepper flakes while cooking the onion and garlic. That way you can use less and get more spice as well. For more flavor, you can add herbs along with the pepper flakes as well. Sautéing all of this instead of adding it later will bring so much more flavor to the dish.
This!!!!!. Adding when she did won't distribute any heat from the flakes. Also use your fingernails to crush the flakes and release the oil from them before you add.

In Italy it's called pennette alla vodka. She didn't invent anything if you were wondering. It was a very popular dish in the 80s, kinda outdated
Once my 6 year old walked in on me pouring red wine into our stew, she looked at me and the walked out immediately. I got confused at first but didn’t think much of it. She chose to eat pasta that night, again, I didn’t think much of this. The next day, she went to school and told her teacher I gave them wine for supper but she refused it!!! Needless to say, I got a call from the teacher and had to explain myself. Obviously, that also became a teachable moment about the science behind alcohol and it’s structured!!!

I literally tried this w/o vodka because I cannot but it's SO good. The sauce clings onto the pasta a lot and you just get these bursting amounts of spice and flavor from every bite. 10/10!!!

To make it spicier, add the red pepper flakes while cooking the onion and garlic. That way you can use less and get more spice as well. For more flavor, you can add herbs along with the pepper flakes as well. Sautéing all of this instead of adding it later will bring so much more flavor to the dish.
This!!!!!. Adding when she did won't distribute any heat from the flakes. Also use your fingernails to crush the flakes and release the oil from them before you add.

@Bestie The best its disrespectful for her to make…pasta? do you realize how many jerk chicken recipes there are done by white people? curry recipes, etc? if someone share’s their recipe for something that exists, theyre just showing HOW THEY MAKE THE FOOD. Im not assuming they invented this type of sauce or this type of pasta or this type of curry, im assuming this is how they personally season or prepare a recipe they LEARNED. You are upset for nothing? Are people getting kicked out of schools for making pasta? losing jobs for pasta? Not allowed to bring their pasta to work because its smelly or unprofessional? You should have reserved the pasta water when the pasta was almost done, that way, the water actually has the released starch from the pasta ( whole point of reserving pasta water ).
