This is the base for a recipe that I've been making for years with the addition of peas and a drained can of either solid white albacore or salmon.

I made this tonight and guys I’m telling you: it’s fabulous! Srsly! I added a little bit more lemon juice cuz I prefer the taste of that zest to be rather strong. I aladded only parsley not chives and it turned out to be great! It’s a winning dish.

I know this tastes wonderful and is easy toske , but a fresh lemon and parmesan cheese are very expensive in my part of the world; this dish would not be cheap.

@@kathyjohnson2043 I live in a rural area, parmesan is not cheap, but better if you grate it yourself. Lemons here grow on trees. You could maybe use cheddar and add salt for a similar taste. I don't salt dishes with parmesan in them. You could also make your own pasta, time consuming but cheaper?

The best things about channels like this is they show you how easy it is to cook for yourself once you understand the step by step fundamentals and why certain things work together for flavor. As a chef for almost 20 years I love videos like this, especially when they are straight to the point with no bullshit fluff for each step. Quick and to the point, no baked in ad sponsors you gotta skip through, no annoying "WHAT'S UP GAMERS IT'S YA BOY" style intros and last but not least: you've got some nice knives lmao. Good shit dude thanks for what you're doing here🙏

I made this last night and it was fantastic 👏 I added a half pound of frozen cooked shrimp - added to the sautéed garlic/lemon juice mixture for a few minutes before adding the milk (I used 2% milk with 2 TBLS cornstarch to lower the fat content) and added a couple handfuls of chopped fresh spinach before adding in the pasta. I also substituted fresh basil for the parsley. I took your advice and started with just half of a large, juicy lemon but ended up using the whole thing, which made the dish really "pop"!
I perused a lot of recipes for this dish and decided on yours because the ingredients looked just right and was so happy it turned out perfect 😋

Your recipe basically calls for an entire box of pasta and that was too much for us. Made this tonight and it was delicious! Substituted half and half as that’s what I had on hand and added chicken and garnished with Parmesan. Great quick meal. Thanks! Btw, I used what you said in the video, so a cup of half and half. Your recipe in the drop down says half cup, but full cup was perfect. Not sure which was right but seems the full cup was, at least for the amount of pasta I made…😊

Thanks for this! I'm just about to make it myself and saw that the video didn't match the recipe in the description and was wondering which was correct. Fyi I was going to err on the side of caution and go with the full cup, but this reassurance is helpful ♥️

I make a dish exactly like this except I sauté cremini (quartered or even eighths depending on size) or any mushroom combination in EVOO until crispy, remove from the pan and use sea salt to season. Then make the sauce as you've done, adding the mushrooms back into the sauce, add al dente cooked Linguini and Voila! You have Crispy Mushrooms in Creamy Lemon Sauce. It is soooo delicious! Thank you for sharing your method.

One of my favourite go to spring and summer dinners is my lemon cream pasta. I skip the garlic and it's still gorgeous. This is way better than a traditional tomato sauce in my opinion.
Love your presentation, its about the food, not you trying to look cute, lol. Can't wait to explore you other videos!

I was about to put the pasta in the sauce pan when I looked to my side and see the half lemon is still on top of the counter 😂 So I took the pasta off the heat, squeezed the lemon into the sauce and let it simmer for another minute. I was so sure that I messed it up since the lemon juice didn’t reduce enough. Surprised that it turned out really tasty. I can’t wait to try it again. It should be even better when done correctly.
I also subbed parsley for basil just because that’s what I had in the pantry.
