Holy F woman - I can’t thank you enough for doing this yourself on video. I go to a salon to have my hair kept short, it’s very thick & grows way too fast & I can’t afford a pro cut every month anymore.I have MS & bad spasticity in my hands, can’t dry & style anymore so I’ve been dying to do this myself for years, didn’t think I’d be able to. I love you right now! 💕 Watched your video a couple times, bought cordless clippers & a set of extra-long guards (just in case I turned into a chicken). I’m not the kind of person that gives much of a F what anyone thinks, so that’s a +. Some really loud tunes & a couple tequila sunrises (or 3) later, I AM LOVING IT SOOO FREAKING MUCH!!! I was scared to start, but once I did it was the most freeing feeling…I started out on the longer side, but found myself going shorter & loving it more the shorter I went. Eeeeeeeee! Thanks, a billion times over!!

Why go to a salon when you could have a barber do it for 10 bucks. My bosses wife had short hair went to barber everytime

I started cutting my hair ten years ago. I enjoy cutting my own hair. I'm 72 and have had my hair buzzed for a few years now. I will keep it that way forever.

New subscriber here! I've been looking for a long time for a tutorial like this. This is perfect for us extreme beginners who are still afraid to actually do it all by ourselves. I've cut my bangs and cleaned up my neck before, but never tried to do the whole head. I wear my hair like hers, so I'll just follow this tutorial. Thanks so much!!

What a sweet smile Lieka has. She did a fantastic job. I (a 30 year) retired hairdresser love to watch your videos. I used to cut my hair, but with arthritis,& almost 80, I can only trim my bangs.it's nearly impossible to find a hairdresser who can cut a neckline clipper cut well. but, I have recently found a barber that I am going to see. I'm doing better now but cannot get my crown done no matter which way l try, my husband has to do that for me !! Just love doing it, wish it would grow quicker so l can shave it again !

Oh my goodness. It's not enough to cut your own hair using a mirror, but then to take off your glasses so you can't see well what you're doing and to use your non-dominant hand is crazy brave. It's also kind of exciting. I need to get clippers with a longer guide though before I try it because the longest we have is #5 and it's still wintertime here.

Hi...this is very encouraging, and the newly arrived clippers are waiting. Btw, what size guards were used on the back of her head? I have always had a challenge of getting my hair short enough at the salon, and the barbers here don't cut womens hair. I found your videos last year, and I just love them-thanks.

I have done this self cut multiple times. The problem Is my hair is on the thinner side on top, so I end up only being able to hand clip the top which works out okay.❤ It really makes a big difference If your hair Is Thin(light weight)or Thicker. I wet my hair to give it more weight so the hair would clip much better. It saves a ton of money

If you want to see the back of your hair while you cut, use a wall mirror on one side, (I have) a mirror that clamps to my counter edge and can be moved around on the left and a mirror in front. I can see all sides of my head while I cut.

She did an absolutely fantastic job of cutting her own hair. It's a bit more challenging than doing someone else's hair, because trying to visualize doing it in the mirror is much more challenging than it looks. I used to cut my own hair exactly like she is doing, except I used a number 1 guard on the back, and sides, and a number 3 on top... Then I started switching over to a number 3 and doing my entire head to that length... The only thing I could not see to do a really good job with was my neck line when it came to cleaning it all up, and boxing it in properly. Now days my Girl Friend's Sister cuts my hair for me since she is a professional Stylist.

Hi Kevin! How are you? Hope you're doing okay. The neckline is the same problem I have when I cut my hair.

Hi Tonia, I am a bit better off than I was the last time we chatted. I am now staying in a shelter at night, and we are served a nice hot meal soon after coming into the shelter in the early evenings... Everyone is out on their own by 8 am each morning, and as long as they follow certain rules, they are allowed to return at 5 pm each evening and after everyone is fed a nice hot meal, we can either watch TV, or sit at our bunk until the staff turns out the lights at 10 pm. Once the lights are turned out, the only reason anyone can leave their bunk is to use the rest room or in the event of a major emergency... No one is allowed to leave their bunk and just walk around because it's a men's homeless shelter based in the basement of a Church, so there are bunks scattered all over the basement, and most of them cannot be seen without the lights on. It beats trying to sleep in my vehicle, and having to run the engine most of the night to have enough heat to stay warm, and it beats the possibility of Criminals trying to break into the vehicle to steal any money or electronics, etc to use to purchase illegal drugs.

@@kevinswinyer3176 I'm glad that you're not sleeping in your vehicle anymore. That you're staying warm and you get hot meals. Stay safe. Sleep with one eye open if you have to. I hope things turn around soon.

Thanks Tonia... After receiving 2 verbal death threats against me, I decided it was time to seek a men's homeless shelter, and even though I don't really know anyone that is also staying in the shelter, they have all pitched in, and they make sure that everyone stays safe, and the staff also help us all out by giving us all free clothes, and hand warmers, and toiletry items that we all need on a daily basis such as soap, shampoo, toothbrush, & tooth paste, etc.

Excellent self haircut, I'd have messed it up if I'd tried to cut my own hair!! So I've booked in for my week off work to get it cut ready for a wedding in July.. If it goes ahead cos the UK are possibly relaxing covid restrictions.. Unless they decide to delay it!!

I just got my hair cut and I'm not pleased at all. Way too short. I should have done it by myself. I have clippers and all. I do my husband's hair and my boys. I did mine a couple of times and it worked quite well. Thanks for the tips. With the smaller clipper when I do the outlining at the back of my neck, I turn it off, place it and then turn on. I do that all around. (off, place against the skin and turn on)
