Kimberly Barron. I have a pixie just like hers, I get my hair done every 4 weeks. However, I'm really anal and my hair grows like a weed. I have clippers with all the attachments. Could you tell me what numbers to use to tighten up the sides and back in between my cuts? Also, any tips? It would be much appreciated.

Frustrated at finding an affordable AND available barber/hairstylist. I have a nice Wahl clipper kit, charged up & ready. Seriously considering doing my own pixie. Kingsley, I love how you approached & executed this adventure! My already very short hair badly needs a cut. You may just be the inspiration I needed to cut my own hair again. 😊

I think that very shorthair on beautiful girls just makes them more beautiful. Years ago, no one cut their hair as short as yours is, and I was surprised to see a woman whose hair was short. It was gorgeous.
I get my undercut and sides shaved, and I am almost 52, lol. It feels good because hair touching my face and the back of my neck can be annoying. I've had long hair all my life, so the rest of my hair isn't short-yet, lol. I was scared, though because i didn't know how my Dad (he'll be 88) was going to react. You're never too old to get a 'what for' from your folks. He was cool with it, lol. My Mom didn't say anything because she can't see me (BTW, I don't live with them, lol). She definitely would've said something. My kids are always cool with my hair. Sorry, for this long comment to your post, but during this pandemic it's always nice to connect with ppl far away and you don't even know, lol. So, hello! How is your pixie now?

I've had a short pixie for years. It's quite thick and grows really fast. I was supposed to get it cut 2 weeks ago when we returned home from a vacation overseas, but we were put into self-isolation at home. Then our province closed all "unessential" businesses. I actually DO think that my hair stylist gives me an essential service. I usually have her cut it for me every 4-6 weeks and now it's been 8 weeks. It's starting to drive me crazy. Your video has inspired me to consider using the clippers I used to use to cut my husband's hair many years ago, when we were penny pinching. Thank you for posting this video. With your beautiful eyes and smile, you still would look amazing no matter how badly your home hair cut went.

February 27, 2024: I bought the same Remington clipper kit during the pandemic, and after watching and re-watching this video (and finally getting my hair cut by a professional stylist first!), I decided 2 weeks into my quickly-growing pixie to use the clippers and trim the hair at the neckline. Hi Pixie I watched many videos about cutting hair during covid. Yours was the easiest, step by step. I loved it! I wear my hair like yours. I was scared I’d make a mistake. But following you. That didn’t happen. Yes I bought a brand new clipper set with a vacuum attached no less. I cleaned my area and cut my hair at the same time 😆. Well girl it worked my hair came out great though it’s my first time. No I didn’t need all those fancy hairstylist or salon preparations. It was simple and to the point. What made your video successful is that you spoke in it at my level of emotions. And Horray !!! I did it. I may never visit a salon again and save a lot of money. Thank you. You are a great teacher. I'm with ya. After chemo and losing hair, I decided I loved it very short. Now with Covid, I've been trying to do a cut with my husband's hair shaving kit. I think I botched mine. Should have watched her cut forst!
@@MBAhmo-ry3mg After I'd worked with the different sized guards on my husbands trimmer, I found that just going straight up the back to where the crown begins with the shorter length and using the next longest length for the crown has worked for mine. I just like it really short because I have naturally curly wavy hair and short short is best. You can hardly go wrong when you like it short, hahha!
I’m post chemo too. I didn’t get the lush chemo curls people always talk about, and because everything is closed I’ve got to take matters into my own hands. I couldn't possibly make it any worse then what it's already looked like lol. Keep fighting fellow warriors ❤️

My mother was a cosmetologist but she is no longer here to offer tips. I miss her terribly. My hairstylist for the last 20+ yrs. died last yr. after cutting my shoulder length hair to more of a pixie cut. Definitely should have done yrs ago. My very thin hair permed every yr. was ridiculous now that I see how bad it looked styled that way. Being 58 everyone says I look much younger. I think with your video I can do this myself. We did the exact same! I used a No. 8 on mine first - that was plenty short on the top for me!! Especially for my first time to have a super short cut!

He actually did a very good job, followed my stylists lines. This was excellent, I followed it but with greater cowardice (down from 8 top, 7,6,5 to 4 at the very back) and it looks great. Wear mine short and it was driving me nuts while growing out. Thanks for pioneering!
Oh my gosh I just did the same thing for the first time. Your pixie is the length I used to have it and decided to grow the top out a couple weeks before quarantine started. I was like you, feeling crazy with the grow out at neck and the sides. You did good and you still look amazing! Great job!
I finally gave myself a buzz cut just like yours 2 days ago. I've toyed with the idea for years. It's a little shorter than yours on the back and sides because the thickest clipper attachment we have is 1/2". The next step was going to be to cover the greys with henna and indigo as I've always done (my hair is very dark). But after seeing this video, I'm thinking why not leave the greys and bleach the rest to match them, lol. Plus I have a lot of white hairs in my eyebrows. You've convinced me. Tomorrow I'm going platinum...thank you for the incentive!! Your hair is beautiful!
I’ve worn a pixie for 10 years and confidence matters even more than a pretty face. Although she is gorgeous, she’s also wearing very flattering makeup which also helps me rock the pixie without looking boyish.
that is what I immediately thought when I saw her. I am older and usually wear my hair virtually like hers but haven't been to a salon since last July and since I am older my hair isn't as thick that being said I am still going pixie or shorter and I have clippers but I am not good with my hands- she'd look good bald, not me. Have been cutting my hair pixie style since senior in highschool. Now 73. But since my MS messes with my strength of my hands I go only to Barber. I used razor comb, Barber uses scissors. Both my husband and son have used clippers on their own. Love your video, am ready to try this. My hair grows so fast and thick grey so your extra short style will be great!! Thank you!!

SO happy I accidentally came across this video! You and I have the EXACT same haircut. Same length, parted on the same side...OMG! I bought some clippers a few weeks ago so I can handle this at home because, like you, I usually go to the salon every four weeks to get my pixie trimmed up and my platinum blonde maintenance. It was so scary, but I was tired enough of my awful cut that I took the plunge and I’m happier than I was before for sure. Have been cutting my hair pixie style since senior in highschool. Now 73. But since my MS messes with my strength of my hands I go only to Barber. I used razor comb, Barber uses scissors. Both my husband and son have used clippers on their own. Love your video, am ready to try this. My hair grows so fast and thick grey so your extra short style will be great!! Thank you!!

SO happy I accidentally came across this video! You and I have the EXACT same haircut. Same length, parted on the same side...OMG! I bought some clippers a few weeks ago so I can handle this at home because, like you, I usually go to the salon every four weeks to get my pixie trimmed up and my platinum blonde maintenance. Probably not trying to do a bleach and tone job at home, but this video will def help me get this long-ass (to us! haha) hair off my head. Thank you!
