Last time I was this early, Palpatine hadn't made it legal yet.
I’m the second comment
Lol
Luis Pozos ok?
I love this because it shows that republic and empire were essentially the same entity especially visually, it just slowly changed over time to become associated with the negative aspects that we see of it.. identically to the roman republic/empire. Rome did most of its conquest as a republic.
DeanmC261993 Nice analogy.
there's a good chance that that's what it's based on
I agree to a certain extent that it's cool seeing the Republic slowly morphed into the Empire. My problem is that the Republic seems to have trouble with visual association. The Sith seems to favor triangular ships and folding wings for centuries so why hasn't anyone, especially the Jedi who kept meticulous records, raise an alarm when Palpatine started building similarly designed ships. For example due to memories of WW2 China thew a tantrum when Japan launched their biggest helicopter carrier that can also accommodate jets.
@@dareka9425 the problem is that the people who made the old republic stuff decided to associate the sith with imperial designs, even though it makes no sense and causes the sort of logical weirdness that your thinking of now. Originally (and in canon, too) the ships were just imperial designs only.
Len Kagamine Especially when the Sith Empire is casually referred to just the Empire in its hey day and evening the officers wear essentially the same uniforms and the SWTOR troopers bear resemblance to stormtroopers
Although there is no official art, fractalsponge has, as usual, made a spectacular model that looks like it was pulled from a full HD official movie.
Subtitles said "Eckharts Slaughter" laughed a little to much at that idk why.
Imagine: one day our language will be translated to aliens using Google subtitles...
What did you think happened to people who defied the doge at the end?
Oh God, he's the man behind the Slaughter, it was literally at our eyes and we didn't even notice, he truly is a Sith Lord
😂🤣🤣🤣
That empire at war gameplay looked so slick
Bruh I play that game all the time it’s amazing after a couple of mods
This actually points to one of my only real issues with the clone war series, the seperatists had a variety of warships, while republic warships were almost always just a small group of venators. I love the venator, but why the animators never bothered to show us anything but venators for the republic.
Throwing some dreadnoughts and victories into republic fleets would have been awesome.
we sometimes saw corvettes and Aquitence (idk hoe thex are called) ships.
Acclamators, arquintens and corvettes also showed up but nothing else besides 1 off ships
Ive always loved the idea that in some far distant corner of the galaxy during the war, The Republic was using Victory-I, Mandator III's and Proto imperial Star destroyers all decked in republic red livery against the seps.
A little geeky rant. I love the military evolution of star wars (until the sequel trilogy) Before the clone wars planets had to defend themselves with fighters and small cruisers. They didnt have the resources to make and maintain capital ships. This ideology was used in the clone wars. The republic and CIS navy is based off this mindset. It used retrofitted civilian ships, consular, cr90, lukrehulk, munificent and created ships to support a fighter dominated warfare, venator and providence. The republic through the development and use of victory class and probably prototype ISDs found out heavier, stronger ships were more effective in a conventional war. So with the trasition into an empire, with this mindset, they built more and more ISDs. But to have hands on control of the galaxy ISDs were too expensive and resourse intensive. (Even the republic couldn't patrol the entire galaxy) That's were the tarkin doctrine comes in. Control the galaxy through fear. But the tarkin doctire military was ineffective against rebels who use hit and run tactics.
This evolution is amazing because you can see the military evolve. As the audience we can nitpick and see why this and that could've been done better, but within the lore, the military evolves using it's own history. The empire didnt know of the rebel threat when it created its military. It only had the clone wars to look to for guidance. A war that could've been prevented/won earlier if it had a heavier hand and stronger ships. Therefore the empire created the tarkin doctire and ISDs
Just like any Star Wars era story, for me personally, I would think there would be a ton more design diversity, and even more than a few dreadnought, battlecruiser, & Star Destroyer classes out there. I think this would be true just due to the size of the Galaxy, the number of planetary navies, the tech, and resources at hand. Love these Fractal and Legends designs, and I sure hope we get more of them in the future.
Yeah, you'd think that the countless inhabitants of the galaxy would constantly be hurling out ship designs.
There most likely are many varieties out there. But I would say that only the wealthy star systems would have them if any. . But when it comes to a galaxy spanning Empire or Republic. You standardize your mainline of production and equipment. This streamlines maintenance and construction projects because there are plenty of spare parts. Also if your fleet all use similar components then damaged vessels can be salvaged into scrap and used to repair or reinforce other ships.
@@VegarotFusion This is true. Still, it seems strange the Republic initially only had acclamator cruisers for large ships, and could only supplement them with Venators for a long time afterwards. There should definitely be other large capital ships out there that they should be able to purchase or construct. A shortage in ship designs seems ridiculous even with the Ruusan reformations given how many ships the separatists had access to.
@@metaouroboros690 Probably because they were cheap and easy to mass produced. They needed to match the CIS numbers and the two ships you named filled that role perfectly.
That or the designers wanted to limit the use of many ships for cost and time restriction.
@@VegarotFusion very good points, standardization across the Galaxy would be a factor for sure. I agree of the millions and millions of system only the most powerful Core Worlds would have decently sized fleets. Just think there would be more diversity in shape, mass, and length than what live action or the cartoons has given us. I prefer the Legends version of the Clone Wars where at least you definitely have planetary navies participating, as well as different Clone templates.
Procurator?!? Sounds like an evil version of a Proctologist.
Procreator
Or it sounds like a professional curator of a museum.
it sounds like a device your Proctologist uses
When he was talking about the Subjugator having at least one sister ship, he ALMOST talked about 'the Devastation'
*You were on the verge of greatness. You were THIS close*
Wait wasn‘t that this death star subjugator mix?
“Now boys are you ready for your,..... SUPER(SUPER)........SECRET(secret)........SHIP(ship)......VIDEO(ViDeO)!!!!”
Ah, echoes of Justin Hammer
All I've ever wanted to see in Clone Wars were victory sds and Dreadnoughts but I think that dream is dead.
Well the good news is that there's little doubt they'll be introduced in The Clone Wars-style animation, as the Clone Wars has been replaced by The Bad Batch.
...just give me those sweet, sweet unfinished Clone Wars episodes, dammit!
All seasons of THE clone wars are canon, what the question meant was if Clone Wars (2003) was both canon and legends, and no, it's plain ol' Legends
Its not even EU legends. It broke so much continuity
@Eye Above All No one asked for your head-canon fam, just stating the official facts
CYKA BLYAT and the “official” facts states that the force is female, that gaining massive power requires no training in either the light or dark, the Chosen One prophecy meant nothing, Rey is Palpatine’s daughter and granddaughter, and the Palpatines win.
@@cykablyat5786 but werent parts of The Clone Wars integrated into Legends near the End, like Mortis/Abeloth and that stuff for example? Or was that a legends concept first that The Clone Wars used?
@@datzfatz2368 it was legends first
I wanted to thank you for re-igniting my love for Star Wars. Once I compartmentalized the keeps and dumps, the alternate universes with the what if's history, I realized, once again, what it was I loved about it. I realized the depth and breadth of the lore extended so far beyond Lucas's vision. That the galaxy was everyone's sandbox. That most of what I loved wasn't in the so-so movies, but the Extended Universe, the "non-canon" shows", and the games. I needed to be reminded what I lost along the way, and you helped. So, thank you.
The Maelstrom sounds like a very interesting and powerful warship
#AskEck
How many capital ships did the CIS navy have in the Expanded Universe?
Not canon.
List is far to long
A lot
Stupid long. Long enough to have each of them have their own faction.
Way more than the republic, a huge, huge number
@@bluerobin2982
It's just a number. Did they have a million capital ships?
What would have happened if UNSC had defeated he covenant forces and captured the forerunner fleet in Halo Wars instead of destroying the ships?. #askeck
Bruh thats pretty good
TheWingland they would have integrated those new parts to the sister ship of infinity which is eternity and i guess they could’ve built more new ships with far more advance systems than the covenant fleet
Halo 3 would end with Halo 2 instead
@@A_Degenerate_with_Glasses The war never would have gotten to that point. Halo Wars 1 takes place 22 years before Halo CE, and humanity wasn't so desperate at that point. If they had a fleet of Fortrunner ships they would have at the very least held there own against the Covenant.
#askeck
*Do you think there’d be sense in changing the lore and extending the Clone Wars to 5 years instead of 3?* (So push everything pre ROTS back 2 years)
I say this because it feels like far to much happens socially, character and plot wise for just 3 years. Look at Ahsoka, for example, she ages far more than just 3 years in the show. And logistically thinking a galactic scale war (ship building, battles, troop movements across the galaxy) would probably take more time to take place.
This change would also slightly mirror the timeline of WW1 & 2, thus making it more understandable/relatable.
That'd mean Padme was pregnant in Clone Wars show for a couple of years
Ashoka grew up fast because she was fighting a war for three years.
There is a big difference between a 14 year old and a 17 year old. Eventhough the difference is only 3 years
BigLadNathan_ You misunderstood the timeline shift
Julian Ahsoka didn’t even look 14. And there’s the other reasons I listed.
Now I’m thinking about what potential missions could’ve been undertaken to upgrade existing ships that are Loyal to the Republic & such…
The Pilot Sim “TIE Fighter” had a number of escort & guard duties that involved resupply and/or upgrades so…
Sadly, from what communities I’m part of related to FFG: the Rpg side of things have gone down. So unless X-Wing/Armada gets a new wave of attention, we may not see too much on other ships beyond comics/novels
Canon seems to simplify things. Dave Filoni seems to take a black & white approach to the franchise.
Love your name, btw.
I personally dont think it was a crappy drawing my friend, cause I found great inspiration from it be it a very basic drawing, it gave me a great image and a grgreat challenge to recreate what could have been and bring life to your drawing. I'm grateful for your design and for the mention above. Thank you my friend, and thank you for you channel and all the hard work you do. Keep it up. 👍
Honestly I’m really glad you’re winding down the sequel trilogy content
Good god yes.
Personally, I like EvilleJedi's representations of the Procurator, Praetor I, Mandator I/II, and Bulwark I/II. And I definitely hope one day they're canonized... with permission, of course...
Ah, the stalwart artist of Jedi Council Forums?
thank you for not turning into those channels that only uploads videos called “STaR wARs COnFIrmS” bs. this is genuine great, consistent lore videos. keep going :)
3:13 "the man- dater"
When you talk about Star Wars, I love your passion for all ships. I wish hot wheels could make this ships to buy. I try collect as many as I can. Thanks for knowledge and keep the great work!
What people don't kno is the corona virus is actually darth tenabrous' failed virus to sever the jedi connection to the force! 😆
Connection will always exist.
Bulwark class, I remember that from _Star Wars: Rebellion_ I think.
Yes, several types, and sizes.
This is a topic I really enjoy. EAW modding does a great job with bringing the secret capital ships to life, especially for the republic.
I love the use of space engineers to show the maelstrom
It'd be cool to see this for every major era.

I love the prequel era it’s so good
AWESOME!! I love capital ships!!
#AskEck if Wat Tambor was taking into republic custody after the battle of ryloth then why he is he commanding a facility on Skako Minor. Because the techno Union is a corporate power or he had a food excuse to be there, I think.
If im not mistaken Mandalorians has sort of triangle style ship, than it was stolen by the Republic, the Interdictor ship appeared , and later on transformed into the star destroyers, venators an other triangle class ships.
Great video
that will be a very good super capital ship i love it
4:13 that ship looks pretty cool
I feel like you could probably fit a small hangar bay the front part of the superstructure for the bridge.
How do starships turn in Starwars? We really only ever see rear facing thrusters/engines. Internal gyroscopes? Lateral thrusters we don’t really notice? It seems like most space “flight” in SW is based on planes with banking, etc., but maybe there’s an explanation I’ve missed?
Cool topic Eck, i enjoyed the video.
Still can't get over seeing a Star Destroyer in republic use
Thanks for releasing yet another very interesting video on the Star Wars universe! Out of curiosity, would it be possible to get a link to the image used for the thumbnail?
Of all the things, I was not expecting to see space engineers in this video.... im not complaining.
Despite not being great for carrying ships these star destroyers are pretty badass.
I mean, there was the Devastation as well. It might have only appeared in Star Was: The Clone Wars: Jedi Alliance for the Nintendo DS, but i think its save to say that it deserves some recognition as well
Idk why, but every time the Malevolence (or Subjugator class in general) gets mentioned the Devastator from Star Wars the Clone Wars: Jedi Alliance pops up in my head.
It’s definitely not canon anymore, if it ever was to begin with... but I’m curious if I’m the only one remembering it, because it was definitely very different from it’s sister ships. I also never heard it being mentioned like ever.
Good Job
Some of those ships needs to be canon!
Hi eck love the vids keep it up
I was introduced to the Bulwark class vessel in Star Wars: Rebellion (pc game) which I play from time to time.
#AskEck
*Attempt 729*
Remember to do the Forerunners vs the Imperium of Man faction versus video.
Thor's Hammer you tried this 729 times?!
bogustoast22 none he has I’ve seen him on like every video
hey, good idea, imma try the same thing
@Eye Above All
That's what I call a no limits fallacy and you know what could easily destroy about a dozen Imperium battlships with ease?
How about a Forerunner Fortress Class Dreadnought that's 100km in length.
There goes your favorite Imperium ship. Turned to dust and debris under a second by Hardlight cannons.
@Eye Above All
To add further detail the Forerunner navy was in the high dozens of millions and had hundreds of thousands of Fortress Class Dreadnoughts. How does the Imperium navy stand up to that? Oh yeah they can't.
i love that the large providence and recusant are just a result of the clone wars team messing up the scaling from their original size seen in revenge of the sith🤣🤣
Everybody Gangsta til the Republic pulls out the Star Dreadnought.
Lol i just got on the computer and there was a 2 min old video.
Glad I made it.
I love your channel keep grinding.
Could you do a video on the Ruusan Reformation and how it compared to real world, post Great War treaties that limited the size and armaments of Naval Vessels? It would be interesting to see a Star Wars take on the Hunt of the Bismark.
I wish we had seen these ships in the clone wars series.
Seeing that Praetor take on a subjugator makes me happy
4:11 watching this while playing space engineers lol
EckhartsLadder, well but what is about the secutor? Isn't it a republic design that was used in the empire and the republic?
Clone Wars before Disney was considered Quasi-Canon to EU. Because of known inconsistencies between established Clone Wars comics and books, Dave Filoni unfortunately opted to take his own route outside the bounds of Legends. Which can be considered a negative or positive outcome, depending on your stance.
Maybe do a video on grysk technology or do grysk tech vs yuuzhan vong tech
Sure would’ve been nice to see some of these things in clone wars.
wow seeing SE in a eck vid that cool
The "z3r0x" mod for Empire at War adds both the Procurator and Mandator battoecruisers as well as Bulwarks to the game. I do like the model used for the Mandator, but the Procurator screams "Old Republic" and almost looks Mon Cal inspired. I'd reccomend trying out the mod on stream. From what I've heard it's one of the older mods for the game. It basically adds a ton of new units and some small factions.
I bet that the republic senate expected the clone wars to finish quickly, so they didn’t approve the funding of many imperial class destroyers because it was expensive and took a long time to build.
I would like to remind you that the time of the Old Republic is nearly 1000 years before the movies in legends, nothing in that era for canon though there will be the High Republic taking place 200 years before the movies. The Republic in the Clone Wars is known as the Galactic Republic. It's only called the "Old Republic" in Empire Strikes Back because to them, it was the old regime. Just wanted to clear that up, noticed you called it the Old Republic in the video
At the risk of shooting myself in the foot for thinking this,
but I'm tempted in trying my hand with making a 3D model of the Maelstrom(?) dreadnought.
Though it be in Google Sketchup if I did.
The Maelstrom originally appeared in the Living Force campaign from Wizards of the Coast.
I heard of a subjugator in legends that had a superlaser instead of a ion weapon
I like the Imperator’s paint job
I’m sad you didn’t make a read all options video... I voted for it
I wonder why (other than making animation cheaper/covering up scaling mistakes for the clone wars) the CIS liked making oversized versions of their capital ships so much?
Like, was it much easier for automated production than designing a bigger ship from the ground up, or was it another bit of corporate logic like using the B1 for literally everything that saves you 0.00000001% on total costs at the small price of hamstringing your entire military.
#askeck Any thoughts on Legend of the galactic heroes Die Neue These.
#battebreakdown battle of Astarte
#shipversus resurgent class Star Destroyer vs MC85 star cruiser
Noble Team vs Bad Batch
Noble team stomps the bad batch. They have numbers and are more skilled. I think a better match up would be Blue team vs the Muunilist 10
Have I heared right? Some seasons of Clonewars are legends now?
You are right there is the old republic but to be more specific it is the galactic republic and not the old republic as in the one from several thousands of years before the battle of Yavin
Can they shoot down any fighter before exploded in 1vs1 capital ship vs fighter? ( Star Wars feature)
Notifications are great.
Im curious because I cannot find much information about the Imperator class being used by the Republic, which source material is it mentioned in?
Tbh the bulwark looked like an angry buffalo charging at full speed
#askeck Why didn’t the rebels mount the Recusant prow mounted heavy turbolaser onto the bow of Rebel One like they did with the engines?
Video suggestion/request:
X-83 Twintail vs. Tie Defender (Legends)
As of this comment, I'm in the process of drawing a rough sketch of the Maelstrom after studying the fan designs (including EckhartsLadder) and refining the design. I have no clue how to put the image in comments but I am eager to show EckhartsLadder and get feedback (more inspiration and references come from the Venator and the Secutor, the latter coming from the wonderful FractalSponge) so I can improve (I hope to also show FractalSponge so we can finally have a depiction of the Maelstrom, even if it is fan-made).
1:23 smaller ships: am I a joke to you?
4:16 I am literally making a death star on space engineers on a server rn
I had a question, or more so a thought, that I was hoping you could help me with. If not in a full video maybe just have some comments on. In your opinion what do you think would have been the result of Luke being captured by the vong instead of Jacen? how do you think Luke would have responded to Vergere's "Teachings"? Im currently on the second force heritec book and am closing in on the end of the series.
The Malevolence having a sister ship makes sense as the Bismarck had a brother ship, the Tirpitz (Both were the only ships referred as male)
Hope the Maelstrom class battlecruiser appears in Empire at War.

Could the Archdevils (Barbatos, Dispater, Belial, Mammon, Geryon, Moloch, Baalzebul and Mephistopheles) Defeat The Flood? | Pathfinder vs Halo
(76th attempt)
I could've sworn, in a game, there was a scaled up venator that look pretty cool but i can't find it
What would a Star Destroyer that has been captured and put into use by the Rebel Alliance look like?
Any ideas for markings and modifications for a model I'm building?
Can you explain what was palpatines plan with anakin or dither into the future
Hey eck what happened to the viscount-class star defender of the new republic before the ep 7 ?
I wish we could of seen the republic use the victory class star destroyer
Unaware lower your reading but the imperial class Star destroyer was the biggest ship class in Star wars universe. Even the new republic could not build something as powerful as a star destroyer
Why do I get the feeling that this whole "Providence and Recusant are made in two different sizes" thing was just a lazy explanation for inconsistent depictions of what should've been the same sized ships?
Wish i could create the movie:
"Star Wars: Rise of the Galactic Empire"
It would be about *Lord Vader* that is MC, in his HUGE fleet!
Conquering space countried world after world in MASSIVE ships!
We would embrace hundreds of drednoughts and battlecruisers...in Jutland like battles above the planets! I believe it would had IMPACT and fill WB pockeds with gold...
What about the republic's "Pride of the Core" I only knew about this beast of a Capital Ship from playing the mod republic at war in the empire at war game. Is it a legends ship? Or did they just make one for the mod itself?
