The Executor was just ahead, behind the disabled Star Destroyer, but deep into enemy lines. But the Tantara was made for this. Her oversized CR-110 engines gave her the speed necessary to catch up. The Tantara accelerated towards the disabled Star Destroyer and fired her twin Apgar Dishes, obliterating what was left of the Star Destroyer in the process. The Sphaerolana covered the rest of the battle group with its shields from the remaining Star Destroyer, until they were out of range. I think the CR 110 might be a Kesselian blockade runner, and the finless Nebulon a Manowar named dropped in this movie's novelization. That or the other ships EC updated could fit the bill.
With everyone here talking about the "Nebulon A" and me having never seen that designation, I did a quick google and stumbled upon something. If you ask me, the MedStar frigate (also of KDY design, and from the Clone Wars era) looks strikingly similar in general shape. New headcannon: The Nebulon A and the MedStar are the same ship, and they look basically like that "finless Nebulon" in the background of this shot that EC Henry's pointedly not mentioning.
EC Henry: "this background ship is clearly different than the ep III Corvette and the ep IV Corvette." Me: "The corvettes in III and IV are different?"
I think it was ORIGINALLY supposed to be the same however it seems the people making it didn't consider scale and made a mistake or two so it was retconned into being a different ship. A CR-70.
Honestly, these would make an epic pirate ship. I’d also like to think that the CR-110 was used by the Correlian Navy during the Clone Wars. I don’t think it’s been confirmed they had a navy, but it makes sense for a shipbuilding world like Corellia to have a self defense fleet pre-Empire. Also, maybe the unique Nebulon is a Nebulon A?
Actually confirmed, Corellia did have a Clone Wars era navy. Corellia is notorious for its independent streak and was usually just barely within Republic membership, often preferring to go it alone or even directly compete with the Republic, or whichever polity controlled the galaxy at the time.
I remember in some mod for Empire at War (don't remember which), it had some lore in one of the ship descriptions that basically said that when the Empire took over, Corellia purposefully kept their ship designs small and worked hard to hide their larger ship designs so that they didn't give them Empire anything too powerful. It always sounded very fitting to me.
wasnt that the whole spiel with corellian engineering company that sold like the millenium falcon and the CR90s etc that every single ship of theirs was super customizable to the point that ships of the same class could and would look nothing alike?
It was. By that logic, it's equally plausible that the CR-79, -90, and -110 were all basically the same ship, with the same interchangeable cockpit module on different-sized mid-hulls. The engine block could also be offered in various sizes, with the larger options sacrificing affordability and fuel economy for increased thrust and acceleration.
Even if it did include corvettes (cuz it probably did) it would be like saying the YT-1300/2000/2400 are all the same ship woth heavy mods. Mods only go so far.
Absolutely this. I love a well thought out interior. The flight control deck is completely believable. And that cramped hangar design would never have existed in the days on the waning Republic, but it makes sense as a rebel cell improvising with what they have. Perhaps those A-wings lack their own hyperdrives and need to be deployed like TIEs, or more likely the use of a CR-110 meant Breaker Squadron could hit targets days away from their home of operations.
is there any chance of collaboration with the Thrawn's Revenge mod team? Nothing would make me happier than being able to command these ships in Empire At War but I am not sure if that would benifit EC Henry and the other amazing content creators that worked their a$$ off to make this gorgeous ship and many others.
This was wonderfully well done and it also makes sense. The CR-110 actually reminds me more of the "Modified Corvette/Assassin class Corvette" in older Star Wars games that supposedly carries more firepower and possibly starfighters in some sort of hangar bay. In some ways this is more of a canonical variant of the Modified Corvette.
Can lucasfilm endorse EC Henry so he can officially add this to canon. They have nothing to loose and are just expanding lore which makes their job easier in the long run because of the extra content he has created

BRAVO good sir, I really love these "oh here's one frame of a ship, let's make it" videos. It really pads out the fleet, and especially makes the Rebellion fleet look more like a scrappy, ad-hoc force cobbled together from everything that could fly.
That particular Nebulon might also be one of the Manowars mentioned in the Return of the Jedi Novel. Either that, or one of the ships EC has dubbed as Mon Cala Frigate, Mon Cala Corvette, and Gallofree Gunship are likely candidates of being the Manowars listed in the novelization.
@@robertdrexel2043 EC Henry did an imperial model of the nebulon B frigate since that's its original purpose in the lore and the headcannon he came up with was KDY was working on the first draft of the nebulon frigate without its forward blade section but after a fatal training exercise the ships missiles chain reacted and tore it in half this led KDY to go back to the drawing board and redesign it with its forward blade

I absolutely love how the shots from around 4:22 to 5:32 make it look like physical miniatures. *Especially* at 4:55 to 5:00 - it looks like there's genuine action figures placed inside of scale models. Fantastic look! Frankly, I think I like it even better than the semi-realistic CGI look of the earlier shots - it makes them look like models that someone diligently sculpted and painted.
I love this, everything about it is just so great! Ever since you've started this series, I've loved the way you not only resurrect these forgotten vessels, but you give them a unique and realistic story that imo fits perfectly in with canon and legends continuities. All of these ships are definitely apart of my head-canon, and I now see these vessels in a whole new light whenever I watch the films. Looking forward to whatever comes next!

I'd love to see EC Henry, make a fan book that shows off all the ships, droid's, planets and species of the galaxy because of how faithful he tries to keep the canon and how he tries to bring in the forgotten ships
Hey Henry, love your content. I'm a navy vet and one thing to keep in mind, that can help explain some of these mystery weapons & logistics platforms, is that each ship and craft within a class will be different from one another. This is due to the time in construction and the technological advancement over time that will introduce new technologies that will be integrated into the current hulls in the slipways. Sometimes these differences can be something as varying dimensions, speed, firepower, structural profiles, engineering, mission endurance (armor, damage control, CIWS, etc), etc etc etc. Sometimes it's change in the vessel's fleet role mission. SciFi tends to simplify these things. Some examples of these would be the iconic USN Iowa class fast battleships. Each ship is in fact different from one another. Love your content. Hope this helps in finding possible solutions to identifying some of these mystery ships and craft.
All of EC Henry's designs are part of my headcanon.

E C Henry: “Hold my spatchka drink”
having your ships in the background is so freaking rad. your work with the lost ships is one of the best things in all of star wars fandom.
*_[EC Henry was born a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, and was present during every major battle confirmed]_*
BRAVO good sir, I really love these "oh here's one frame of a ship, let's make it" videos. It really pads out the fleet, and especially makes the Rebellion fleet look more like a scrappy, ad-hoc force cobbled together from everything that could fly.
I kinda want to believe the "nebulon B" without its blade section is actually a salvaged nebulon A that ec Henry showed us
That particular Nebulon might also be one of the Manowars mentioned in the Return of the Jedi Novel. Either that, or one of the ships EC has dubbed as Mon Cala Frigate, Mon Cala Corvette, and Gallofree Gunship are likely candidates of being the Manowars listed in the novelization.
The what now? This is the first time I heard about a Nebulon A?
@@robertdrexel2043 EC Henry did an imperial model of the nebulon B frigate since that's its original purpose in the lore and the headcannon he came up with was KDY was working on the first draft of the nebulon frigate without its forward blade section but after a fatal training exercise the ships missiles chain reacted and tore it in half this led KDY to go back to the drawing board and redesign it with its forward blade
@@Gilmore-Devoss Yes. I am quite familiar with the Imperial Nebulon-B Frigate he had created, but I am not familiar with anything known as Nebulon-A. Or what you mentioned about EC's headcanon. Maybe I should rewatch that video?
EDIT: Nevermind. Found it.
These are some of my favorite videos on UA-cam! The interior and fly-around are fantastic, each alone fully up to the standard of the basic models this series started with. I'm so glad you're able to add these in, it brings them even more to life!
I'm not sure how I feel about a nebulon B without the fin. It just looks weird.
Maybe the fin section was damaged in a previous battle and Rebel technicians decided to remove it completely instead of repairing it...
That could be a Manowar listed in this film's novelization.
Same goes for an ISD without its bridge section.
Henry, You've done it again. Every time I think you've set the standard for 3d models, especially for Star Wars, you go and pull something like this, and completely redefine it all over again. Well done sir.
Hey, you should do a video on the DB model CIS Carrier, I can’t find much info on it and I find the concept interesting.
A CIS ship dedicated to carrying separatist bombers and fighters and basically no other purpose, with a bulky bulbous design reminiscent of the separatist supply ship
I'm still amazed at how you constantly come up with tons of greeble detail in your models but everything looks functional and unique
Any unknown canon ship from OT:
EC Henry: I’m gonna stick a claustrophobic modified hangar in there
Jokes aside your work is marvelous, keep it up
Thanks for making me remember why I loved star wars
Fabricator General approve this vid.
Your style of ships is sooo well suited to classic star wars. I wish all star wars movies had your thought of design.
In the EC Henry verse wouldn't that fin less Nebulon frigate be a stripped down Nebulon A
Love the way you flesh out the Star Wars universe like this, and extra kudos to the artists that bring it all to life.
me: huh, that hangar system looks very...familiar
*BSG launch tubes flashbacks*
I see the similarities, but personally I was more reminded of this:ua-cam.com/video/qgg4DnmlsQY/v-deo.html At least in terms of how the fighters are dropped down the ramps.
@@DMW-iq2ie oh yeah that looks way more similar! That clip is from Yamato right? I've always wanted to watch it but I can't find a good source to watch it
@@rushilgupta6053 Yes it is from Space Battleship Yamato 2199. I know a few websites that operate in a kind of grey area. One of them has the English version of both 2199 and 2202 (basically the modern remakes of the original seasons 1 and 2).
@@DMW-iq2ie ah I see... Do tell
@@rushilgupta6053 I posted the link last night, but I don’t know if you were able to use it before it was deleted.
Whoa. I never knew there was such a difference between the CR-70 and the CR-90, let alone that there was another variant out there. As always, I love what you and your fellow artists are doing here, finding and bringing these mystery ships into the spotlight. You guys do amazing work.
Disney should buy your designs lol.
This is by far my favorite EC Henry mystery ship. I think the break room is what did it for me
ABSOLUTELY fraking AWESOME!!!!!!
TRULY liked and really enjoyed watching this one here.
These videos, and especially Angelos' images, are always jaw-dropping. Love it so much!
EC Henry, Angelos Karderinis, Ryan Fletcher you are all awsome! Thank you!
DUDE these cinematics are getting so much better and fun!!! love your updates
I cant begin to comprehend the amount of actual work gone into this. Freaking amazing.
Wow, what a great episode of Forgotten Ships! Love all the extra renders and lore in this one, and especially the collaboration with Skyforge
Especially love that the Sphaerolana gets a battle group! That's my absolute favorite of your designs. I really hope to see a 3D printed version for Star Wars: Armada some day
I've noticed this ship for years but never given it much thought beyond 'oh it's just a result of the vfx of the time,' but now that I know my mind is blown! Thank you and everyone involved in doing this, you are legends among us.
These videos are, no exaggeration, my favorite videos on youtube
Your animation is awesome!
Love it.
God, I love it whenever you drop a new video about a forgotten ship or lore musings! It's always such a refreshing way to start the day and is guaranteed to make me pack up my troubles!
I love all these videos along with the background lore made for it. MOAR PLZ
I love design breakdowns and lore like these videos.
By the Force those cinematic shots and speculative miniatures are *chef's kiss*
all of your designs are phenomenal, like legit fit right into the universe beautifully. keep up the fantastic work.
This is brilliant work and collaboration- from the concept, to the story elements, to the visuals.
Nothing on UA-cam gets me as excited as these fan-made Star Wars ships.
The lighting of the 360° swoop render is perfect! It looks exactly like an original shot from the film.
I absolutely love this, definitely my favorite forgotten ship you’ve done so far!
That was absolutely incredible! Very detailed and with excellent graphic presentations. The fly around was awesome. Thanks
I love the interior work so much, really great interpretation of a lost ship. 🔥
A thing of beauty, and definitely part of my head-canon now. Thank you, EC!
Amazing interiors on this one
Outstanding renders. Imagine an "extended edition" of the space battle above Endor. 👀
I'd love to see EC Henry, make a fan book that shows off all the ships, droid's, planets and species of the galaxy because of how faithful he tries to keep the canon and how he tries to bring in the forgotten ships
Man, I love the work you and your collabs do on these mystery ships. Fantastic work.
Loved working on this! Such a great model!
This is why I love Star Wars; there aren't too many franchises that encourage *this* amount of imagination for such inconsequential details
