@Robert.Novack they're coming to concert in Tucson and Phoenix soon. Not Cleveland for me though. I have family in Tucson, I wish somehow I could get there and see them and the concert!
Thats just plain wrong. It all came from the USA. Dont misunderstand me it is good music and it and the black population of the USA pioneered a good bit of these music styles but none of these styles come from Africa. That being said I love sahel sounds easily one of the most relaxed rock I heard in recent time.

I wouldn't call it Saharan blues; it's more traditional. Somali, Ethiopian, and Sudanese from the 1970s/80s/90s all have this vibe, and they're not from the Sahara. Also, we wouldn't really consider this blues at all, tbh
@@Omiiee I agree! I think up until the 90s and even 00s, the sound and feel of Somali, Ethiopian, and Sudanese, etc music is kind of a mix of traditional folk music sounds and funk and disco sounds that were very popular globally. I love listening to old songs that I find via old wedding VHS tapes, tracking them down to find out that somebody has graciously posted the entirety of the song to YT or insta!
@@ikazur99 Here are some I have been listening to recently: Waaberi, DurDur, and Danan Hargeysa (all Somali bands) Roha Band, Admas band, and The Walias band (all from Ethiopia) For the African equivalent to Supremes, look to Sudan; three really popular bands from the 70s were Sisters Amal, Hayat Talsam, and Hadia. For other sounds you have Mohammed Wardi, Saied Khalifa, Aisha Musa Ahmad, Rejaf, Balabil, omad korom, Mustafa Seed Ahmed, Hanan Bulu Bulu, Mohamoud Abdulaziz, and Sharhabil Ahmed, Nancy Agag. As you can see, there is a larger chunk of Sudani musicians and singers here, that because most of East Africa looked to Sudan as the musical big brother. Still does. They got a head start is what my parents tell me.
This refreshingly beautiful, haunting, visceral and grounding blend of styles and influences, that manages to be 100% authentic and original. You guys have a great vibe, listening from New York, USA! Can't wait for more music, much love
Joy is the word that comes to mind as I listen to the new album from Etran de L'Aïr. A joyous album from start to finish. I want to live in their music, in their guitars and drums.
The the most popular video from less than a year ago other than imouha that has garnered such an insanely small amount of attention compared to imouha. The youtube algorithm is not terribly evil, but it sure as heck is unequal...
This is nice, all the nature. But i have to admit: miss the green screen. Glad they kept the editing master, who stayed true to the core of the last video.
Rock and roll ain't ever gonna die. It'll take on new faces and play far-off and unexpected venues, but it won't ever die.
Chill out, my friend, nobody tries to burry rock and roll. :)
it’s in 3 ⚰️

No not rock n roll hahaha not a single tune

They've been playing this music for decades. You're just finding out about it now! This was the blues before the blues!
Are you keeping up with the Siberian and Mongolian music seen? Check out Otyken and The Hu, if you haven't already.
Muy buena música. Saludos desde Buenos Aires, Argentina
Thats an awesome drum pattern, I don't think i've hear this one before.
There are some gnarly drum patterns all over african musical cultures
Etran de L'Air is one of those bands that mesmerizes me. Their music is timeless ❤
On a rain filled day in Ireland, transported (if only for a few minutes) by this warm vibe emanating from the Sahara.
So peppy and so laid back all at once. ❤
It feels like casually strolling through a crowded lively city square you've never been to. You're taking it slow, but nobody else is. 😎
