Tuareg people are the very essence of blues. Not just from the robes, which stains flesh (color is packed without the use of water). Due to their nomadic lifestyle, they have been exploited time and time again, in a seemingly endless loop of war and seeking refuge.. With that said, they are a proud people, with a rich culture. Their resilience is inspiring. Love and respect to my tuareg brothers.
@fsdds1488 Including scholars, slaves, descendants of slaves, among other social classes. The ones you speak of were the nobles, referred to as Imazighen (meaning free men), usually of lighter complexion.
Alright, let me tell you what I’ve been through to get here. I’ve been on this bizarre journey, a quest, if you will, for months. Every night, I’d sit down at my computer, open UA-cam, and start typing the most random strings of characters into the search bar-nonsense words, numbers, combinations no sane person would ever type-anything that might somehow summon this video. I’m talking HOURS of aimless searching, just scrolling through endless recommendations, refreshing, diving deeper and deeper into UA-cam’s twisted, infinite rabbit hole. At first, I thought I was just exploring, but soon it became a mission. I started obsessing. Convinced there was something out there waiting for me, hidden just beyond my reach, like some sort of legendary lost relic of the internet. People around me started noticing-“Why are you always searching weird things on UA-cam?” they’d ask. But they wouldn’t understand. No one could. I knew this video was real. I could feel it. Every night, I'd go to bed frustrated, lying there thinking, "Maybe I’ll find it tomorrow." But day after day, night after night-nothing. Just failure after failure. And then, today… it happened. There it was, just sitting in my recommended feed. Just staring back at me like it had been waiting for me this entire time. The audacity of it. It wasn't me who found the video-no, I realize now, it found me. It had been watching me all along, waiting for the right moment to reveal itself, as if to say, "About time you caught up."
Yes, I thought the same. The pulsating beat and the repetition of the guitar licks would probably have gone down vey well at Monterey 1967 right before Jefferson Airplane.
Because Saharan artists such as Bombino did study artists from that time period such as Mark Knopfler and Jimi Hendrix. That’s why it sounds similar, but it’s with a North African twist
I saw the thumbnail of what they were wearing and holding a guitar with a green screen background of some desert. So naturally I had to hear what sound they were making. Started with a nice little something, ok they can actually play. Then 0:25 happened and just blew my mind and it only kept getting better as the song kept going. This was great music.
I saw this a month ago, promptly went onto Bandcamp, and bought all of their albums. Absolutely no regrets. Niger and Mali are putting out some of the continent's best music right now.
Spotify is amazing .. last FM was , might still be. Also you don't need an algorithm you just need to take the f****** time to listen to the f****** music.. 🎉🎉 🎉

Love and respect to my tuareg brothers.
thank you for sharing this knowledge!
They are historically very fierce warriors, employed by many empires.
@fsdds1488 Including scholars, slaves, descendants of slaves, among other social classes. The ones you speak of were the nobles, referred to as Imazighen (meaning free men), usually of lighter complexion.
Im American, I love music and Toyotas, these are my kind of people.
I'm Portuguese, I love music and Toyotas
I think they are Touaregs. Actually they hate Russians too.
@@macadames lmfao i hate Putin, Russians are good people.
1. Why was I recommended this song?
2. Why did I listen to the whole song?
3. Why did I share this with my friends?
...... 🤟🏻
The Sahel rock rabbit hole is a deep one, and one you should definitely fall into!
This is legit such a fucking good song.
EXACTLY!
lmao. actin' like you got friends.
I want to say thank you for sharing your journey
Cool story bro. 😳
You ran a great one brother , now we’re here 💪🏽
This could be a 60's track... these guys rock.
Yes, I thought the same. The pulsating beat and the repetition of the guitar licks would probably have gone down vey well at Monterey 1967 right before Jefferson Airplane.
Fuzztones "bad news travels fast"; vintage garage rock 60s vibe.
Sounds like something Santana would do
@@josephfreeman4938 I was thinking more Al Di Meola, it has a groove he'd rip a solo over.
Same i thought they must be really good
Cause everyone of these people knows how to play guitar
“Ok, they can actually play” that sounded r… Why they possibly wouldn’t?
@@rafaelcarvalho8297 Were you born yesterday? Do I really need to explain to you that/how people can be bad at something?
I saw this a month ago, promptly went onto Bandcamp, and bought all of their albums. Absolutely no regrets. Niger and Mali are putting out some of the continent's best music right now.
groovy baby, props all around & very good mix...!
Why is the only algorithm that actually works to deliver joy UA-cam's?
100%
Not sure. What type of music do you like?
Spotify is amazing
.. last FM was , might still be. Also you don't need an algorithm you just need to take the f****** time to listen to the f****** music.. 🎉🎉 🎉
listening to Aldous Harding now... holy shit ... What a great artist !! explore with me.. :) ..
.
@@thereverendepi_gee565 i don’t like when my algorithm takes money from artists to fund military AI
IN SHALLAH WE HAVE FOUND THE BEST DESERT ROCK BAND
If this is my algorithm, I’m doing something right. In fact, I think my SOUL is doing something right. This is amazing
We have been blessed by the algorithm, good lord this band grows on you quick
Lads, I’ve finally landed here today. Happy to see the men of culture in the comments.
This is what I get for procrastinating. It has finally paid off after all these years
Lol
😂
This is what UA-cam algorithm does the best. Glad I clicked here.
just from the thumbnail i knew this was going to be a banger.
I clicked on this simply because of the thumbnail. Didn't exactly know what to expect, and insanely groovy blues rock was absolutely not my prediction but this is killer! These dudes know how to jam, and it's so clear they're having a blast with it. The algorithm hath blessed us once again brothers and sisters!
This is great!🎉
Brave men, wherever you are,
Remain fearless and make use of your courage,
Be well behaved and carry yourself with dignity,
I would like for us to be united, helping each other hand in hand,
Well said, brother. ✊️
Almost every man on Earth has the same enemy in the end, though money makes him take many forms-the old Money Trust of ancient Europe, with tentacles across the world.
💪❤️🫡
Thats the whole lyrics?
Saharan blues was the least expected genre but I am glad it exists
My late father would've loved this! He'd be 74 if still alive. I inherited his taste in music. He had me listening to zulu music in the early 80s. He loved the Bhundu Boys. Not bad for a working class man from Ireland.
Your daddy really had great taste in music. Have you listened to Paul Simon's Graceland album and the live concert? If you haven't, check it out. You'll love it.
@PKBassPlaya lovely reply 💗. I like the way you called him 'daddy'..that's what I called him. And yes indeed, I have listened to Graceland.
@donnasmyth45 my parents are still alive and I always thank God for their lives. I always talk to them and visit all the time I can. Your dad really raised you right and I can tell he was a very stellar person. God bless you and bless his memory.
@PKBassPlaya and God bless you too and your mummy and daddy.
The dog running along with the camels and trucks. Everyone wants to be loved and free.
They're playing is so good, the cars behind them couldn't even touch them.
I love the dog running with the guys in the minute 5:05 of the song. It feels part of the pack 🔥🔥🔥
Grateful to have been chosen by the algorithm gods
I'm so glad my algorithm is cooked enough that this is what I get recommended
It’s like a reward
Same here XD. Years of conditioning the algorithm works!
As a big fan of Tinariwen and Mdou Moctar, it's always awesome to see other (especially older) artists in the same sphere get a big break here in the west. Each release is another window into a genre with such a rich history that I want to learn everything I can about it, but get so few opportunities that each one is extremely valuable.
Moctar did this song justice 😊
This whole package goes so hard. The Hiluxes doing donuts, the camel race, and most of all the music is the only thing that’s happening right in the world right now. These fellas need a Grammy. I’m so happy I found Mdou Moctar years ago and it lead me to these guys. Keep it up fellas , it’s gosh dang perfection I tell ya.
I love the algorithm when it does stuff like this ❤
Never knew camels could go at that pace.
They even have races with camels. The camels are expensive as a good racing horse.
yall recommend me some paintings of them rushing i wanna see artistic depictions of it
I've heard tuareg melodies were created from long travels traversing the desert. The tempo dictated by the cadence of the camel.
@5:04 dont forget about the dog
