"you think people will wonder about why we're wearing a costume?"
"you mean like out of context?"
"yeah."
"nooo."
"no?"
"we're actors."
*SO TRUE*
Must’ve been easy to impersonate Shakespeare. He’s met him, after all.
Twice
@@Kamechan98 the second time to apologize
ahahaHA
they both have
😂💙💙🙌
I will NEVER not laugh at Micheal Sheen in profile looking out a window like a cat who has clocked a bird.
I can't unsee it now. 😂
for me its the turn towards the camera like O__O "jUsT aDjUsTiNg. YoU aLrIgHt????????"
Those chickens are up to summat.
I laughed as soon as Michael came on screen. I love that man.
A 'glance'.., that's part of mC2F 🇬🇧ℹ️ & 'Rose Theatre' history., 👍🏾👍🏻👍
At this point, can David and Michael just get an on-going TV show for them two, plus Georgia and Anna?
I would love more Staged 😊👍
And occasionally Dame Judi Dench to shake them up!
That would be quality telly
Good Omens?
@@juggert I mean, if Neil Gaiman feels comfortable about doing more Good Omens, considering that Terry Pratchett wouldn't be around to co-direct and write, then I would at least like a Christmas Special.
I want more of this! Those two playing other famous pairs in history, but same standard zoom just in ridiculous costumes
Me too!
That would actually be pretty goddamn brilliant…
Yes! When I first saw it shared on fb I thought that's what the whole "Staged" was about! And although I enjoyed the actual show, I'd have loved to see more stuff like this one!
Maybe a sick Mozart telling Salieri about his new opera.
Michael: handsome costume and blends in with the stony hearth in the background like a charm (like the angelic bugger he is)
David: wearing something out of a carnaval's store discount rack with gleaming kitchen in the back. (chaotic demon boi style)
Yup. Love em. xD
RIGHT?! LOL
nailed it!!! 😆
and whats even more funny is the fact Michael brought the costumes lol so he set David up good and proper. Excellent bit of detail
1:42 how David Tennant managed to say "Are you" using squeaks, that my friend, is talent
"I'm afraid my severity would dilute your VACUOUS CRAP!!" I really want this to be based on a real conversation between Shakespeare and Marlow.
Seems plausible enough for me.
Yesh!!!
300th like!! Also this phrase is going right into my daily vernacular.
If i remember correctly, Marlow died about six months before Shakespeare came to London and started writing
@@claragodwin-suttie3594 oh that's interesting. My mistake. Perhaps between Ben Jonson and Shakespeare then. Wasn't old Ben notoriously grouchy?
"Are you making up words again?" Brilliant!
I was getting into them being Shakespeare and Marlowe having a real conversation; that seemed like a taunt Marlowe would make to Shakespeare, but Christopher Marlowe didn't get old enough to have grey hair. I sorta had that in my mind too.
As a theatre person, surrounded by others who decided it was a good idea to do this as adults, I can verify that we just randomly wear costumes for no reason. Possibly *why* we chose this career path?
Wanting to wear a costume is a perfectly legitimate reason.
Truer words have yet to be spoken.
These two are such good omens to this world
I see what you did there.
Yup, Good O-Mens!
I'm blown away about how insane Michael's hair makes him look. And yet, he looks insanely gorgeous.
"Escapism!"
"Are you making up words again?"
Am I the only person who basically sees these guys as Crowley and Aziraphael IRL, pretending to be Tennant and Sheen? Because srsly, that vibe, lol.
Same.
Truth
You mean they're not really ineffable husbands?!?
it's a really brilliant human AU
Nope, Prartchett and Gaiman are Aziraphael and Crowley IRL :)
THE QUEEN BLOODY LOVES A LIMERICK! - David Tennant 2021/1592
I bet she does too! (probably both Elizabeths)
the years make it look like he blinked at an angel
and he married her, so he'd know!
@@no_rhyme_or_ 😂😂😂
Could not stop laughing. Those two are incredible together- likely platonic soulmates.
Also, did anyone chuckle at the bobby pin holding David’s hair back (which looks awesome long)?
Are you making up words again???😂💐💀
I live for Michael and David doing anything together. These men are brilliant.
David And Michael are simply magical together.
If one good thing has come out of this horrible year David and Michael are it. Bloody marvelous.👏👏👏👏👏👏👏❤️❤️
agreed
Georgia totally curled David's hair for this
Haha right?
the more I see them on TV, the more I think they weren't acting THAT much in Good Omens
"Something with a donkey..." Y E S !!!
And so A Midsummer's Night Dream is born
"A pox on charity" was my favorite bit.
It gave me quite the giggle.
They already owned those clothes and we all know it 😍😍
My obsession with Staged just blew up so badly I don't have a roof anymore. Anyone else?
David Tennant, Michael Sheen and Misha Collins are the only celebrities that can make me legitimately smile and laugh these days.
Misha makes me smile just by seeing his smile.
seriously loving the 'bardcore' version of the theme music! 😄
As soon as I see these two together, I start helplessly laughing and do not stop until they stop talking. Good comedy is SO rare, and these guys are the real deal.
Man, my "I enjoy Elizabethan Theater" brain now REALLY wants to see this version of Marlowe and Shakespeare finding out about the Authorship Question (particularly the conspiracy theory that Marlowe wrote Shakespeare's plays).
It would be MAD 😂
These two are amazing together, right up there with Fry and Laurie.
These two are just brilliant together...I'll watch anything they're in together!
Thanks for your love and support
David and Michael’s reaction to Lenny’s entrance is akin to 2 kids being caught and told off by their mother for misbehaving.
These two playing Shakespeare and Marlowe is something I didn't know I needed, but goodness, it's perfect. Just, the dynamic, I can't. 😆
Shakespeare: It'll take a miracle to get anyone to come see Hamlet!
Marlowe: All right I'll do it my treat!
Shakespeare: Really? 🙃
Marlowe: Still prefer the funny ones
Good omens?
@@aexh5159 Correct! 😇💝😈
Somehow watching these 2 lose their minds has helped me keep mine.
"Are you making up words again?" - beautiful.
"You making up words again?" ROFLMAO!
I love it 😂👌
Even took a moment to throw Simon under the bus-its in the Staged continuity!
“David and Michael should do a cosplay of their good omens character for their fans.”
4:11 why does Michael’s little wiggle give me joy?
Also: great covid hair guys, looking good.
Micheal. You've named the wrong Sheen. :-)
@@lwaves hahaha, like in the show, ok I’ll correct it, thank you!
@@Lumibear. Yes, like in the show. I wasn't sure if you were referencing the show or not but couldn't see anything jokey so....
That wiggle shows Michael's playfulness and these two are so good together.
Pure joy from the start.....then Sir Len drops in to tell David and Mike to tell them to quit sodding about 😆
David stumbling on words at 1:21.
That is SO MUCH like his normal self I smiled.
A match made in heaven. I love these two together, and their comic timing is brilliant.
'Willie' 🕯️🙏., Would've applauded 🇬🇧👏
These two are the best team up of the century!
Seriously could watch another five hours of this
Im so glad good omens paired these two
We would pay to see these. Brilliant pair. So beautiful. How they got Sir Palin to say with a straight face (he didn’t but you have to watch the mouth movement) that the Pythans stuck to the script. A beautiful man.
Sir Palin? That was Sir Lenny Henry
@@BodaciousWench Sir Michael Palin was in the first episode of Staged series 2.
Pythons!
I love these two!! I would sit & watch them read a phone book with their snarky comments. LOL
This is what humor looks like: purposefully making yourself look ridiculous, mocking stereotypes and frivolity. It's genius.
these two are bloody brilliant when they get together doing this. totally makes an immediate smile come across me face,
I will live my life waiting for the moment in which I can say these magnificent words: "'I'd be scared that my severity might dilute your vacuous crap!"
"i can think of a few charitable things to do with your sonnests"
BILLY. YOU ARE TO CALM YOURSELF.
The way Michael Tennant says "Are ye?" without moving a single facial muscle kills me lol.
It is in times like these; when two actors make such a brawl out of something so simple, that I feel compelled to interupt their actorial business and so utter the name of the Scotish play.
I now think Michael and David need to do some Shakespeare together. Or The Odd Couple. And switch off roles per week.
Suggestion approved ☑️🇬🇧
How about the Odd Couple in the style of Shakespeare?
@@R.M.MacFru Clearly not YET seen., 'Blackadder' 📺🇬🇧 !!
THE ODD COUPLE?!? Now THERE'S an idea!
@@HeyouCrow ... Blackadder and Baldric are not on the same social standing as Felix and Oscar are. Plus...as much as I love David, I'd rather have Rowan as Blackadder.
Two great actors with perfect comedic timing. and Lenny Henry
Omg David looks just like Shakespeare it's insane
And Michael's intensity as Marlowe is absolutely amazing
Anything these two do together is gold 🙌
Brilliant please make a 3rd series of staged. Have bought the 2 seasons on amazon so I always have a copy of it as it's not permanent on BBC iplayer or Netflix even though that's free.
I just found this and have watched it an unhealthy amount of times 😂😂😂
I have to admit, if I saw David and Michael wearing ruffs I wouldn't question it...
Two of Britain's finest actors , I watched again for the umpteenth time Michael in Fantabulosa and he was so believable i had to remind myself it wasn't Kenneth Williams, David is absolutely brilliant in all his roles Bad Samaritan is an amazing film, and his portrayal of Denis Nilson was spot on.
David in "Secret Smile" was chilling !!
It took me ages to watch him in Veronica Jones, cos I had to keep pausing it. It scared me that much! And when he was captured, and put in the cell, well, I couldn’t watch it for weeks, til my poor heart had calmed down!
I could listen to them talk and argue for hours and hours 😂❤
I could watch them all day every day...hopefully there will be another Staged!!!
If you haven't seen " Good Omens" as of yet, I would suggest it to see more of David & Michael.
@@heathergittens3223 I've seen it-twice!!-when it came out-and during lockdown..such a pleasure!-and so well made!-hope Gaiman wants to do another of those too!-I live with hope!!!
Counting this as win for me and my name 😭 ‘pox on Charity’
Deserving of the re'Minder 📺.,
'Sweet'
I would watch these two all day everyday for the rest of eternity.
I adore these men
'are you making up words again?' XD Brilliant!
I love this series so much!!! David and Michael are iconic together! Also, who else has noticed that both Aro and Caius have now played Christopher Marlowe? lollll
David & Martin are the best British acting duo since Sir Ian & Sir Patrick. Thank you for helping keep us sane during maddening times.
I bet the present Queen could write some lovely limericks. I hope she's written tonnes of them, and she'll startle us all with their perspicacity one day. She has to do something on those long trips. It is good to see and hear you both in the rudest of health. Never fail.
I love Michael squeaking, "FIFTY shillings!"
There once was a fellow from Stratford
Who fell in with this bunch of actors
They pranced round in robes
At a place called the Globe
And some of their bits are still adored.
Finally! What I was looking for!
I am not talented enough to make one up, but here is one of my faves:
A bustard's an interesting fowl,
With minimal reason to growl.
He escapes what would be
Illegitimacy
By the grace of a fortunate vowel.
😂😂😂
They are so perfect!
Thank you for make me laugh after such a terrible week!
2:26 I love Michael. Hahaha 🤣
Hell they are so funny together. Such good scene partners
So much LOVE for both of these gents
This is still one of the funniest things to come out in the last 20 years.
I truly respect and love these two men
THIS made my day! 😄 LOVE these guys and love this time period!
These two wonderful actors make magic together. I hope to see more of them in the future
this was perfection, and a fantastic ad for Staged because the whole thing is this good. I could watch these two for days!
Oh, this is precious! ❤🤣❤🤣❤🤣❤
An inspired phrase for all.,
'Rose Theatre' ℹ️ PRtours of 'LotR' Hobbit-Uals. 👋🏾👋🏻👋
Love these two. Cannot get enough of their competitive ‘rivalry’.
This just made me miss Doctor Who more than anything else.
I love how they're always getting a bollocking from someone 😂
I love these guys so much... Thank you for all you do!
This is just above and beyond. No other way to put it.
Yay! More David and Michael please!
Love this so much. I can't stop watching it.
I can't get enough of these two!
I love this show please make a 3rd series.
While good it is time specific to the ridiculous situation of this past 12 months. And it won't work too well now we are getting back to normal.
Mind you back to normal will reduce my social life as I have had a more active social agenda during lockdown.
So going out of lockdown will increase loneliness for many as idiots return to pubs etc.
And I have never even started to worry about the virus as I am a teacher.
Sheen is fantastic and that shrill cackle as Aro...unforgettable.
Michael & David *need* to be in Horrible Histories.
i love them with my whole heart
Could watch them forever 😂😂🥰🥰🥰
I love these two so much!
They are both bloody brilliant!!
Meu Deus! Isso foi simplesmente maravilhoso, estava esperando dias para ver isso! Maravilhoso!
Michael's, "Are you making up words again?" to Shakespeare, the inventor of hundreds of words😂 Too brilliant.
