Hello, very good video, congratulations, is it safe to lift the engine from the alternator? And in the conditioned air compressor? If you explain to me so I can feel calmer since I will do the same work? Some use the crankshaft pulley to lift the engine, why didn't you use it?
Hey thanks for the feedback I personally didn’t feel safe lifting it but the crankshaft pulley because that’s putting an unnecessary amount of stress on an already fragile piece.i picked the alternator/ac compressor because if something goes wrong I can always replace those parts and not have to rip out the whole engine. Remember this whole thing will take some time to do if your alone I just never felt comfortable putting that stress on a crank. Hope your project goes well
Where exactly did you put those jackstands? I'm trying to put them on the pinch welds. There's enough room on the driver's side to get my floor jack and 6 ton stand on there but there's a plastic thing ( I think wiring harness on the passenger side and no room to do it. I really don't want to put the stands on the part next to the crossmember brackets. It has a bit of an angle to it and I'm scared it will slip while im under there.
The jacks stands are put on the metal bar that’s god across the bottom of the transmission. You can put the jack stands where ever you want that’s makes the car secure to you. I was on a flat surface so it wasn’t that big of a deal.

So glad mine is a 5.7 2wd instead of a 4x4. Working on the bottom side is a breeze so far.

did you take off the intake plenum? are the front tires off the ground?
I have an after market intake but I’m should you will need to disconnect it. And if you can’t fit Under the the car you may need to lift it

No I don’t think so they look like the same part
