Dude, I’m so keen on a 703 review. I love my 702 touch so much more than every other monitor I’ve owned so I’m keen to hear your thoughts.
Also, with the 60x… how often are you noticeably deviating from 5600k? I’m just curious if you are constantly taking advantage of bicolour or if it’s just daylight 90% of the time for what you are doing.
Great video, I love that it’s 100% content and no fluff 🔥

I'll make sure I put out a 703 review soon!
I'm constantly using the bi-colour feature with the 60X. Typically I'll white balance my FX6 under the available lights and then match the 60X to that. I find I have a colour temp around 4200-4500k in some office spaces. Depends on how much window light spill there is.

Great breakdown of the setup, you’ve really got it sorted for corporate jobs.
How long do you get with the 150w battery on the Aputure 60X?

Thanks for watching! I'm always looking at ways to perfect my setup.
It really depends on the % level I have the light set to. I do use the 60X at 100% quite a bit. I don't know exactly how long it lasts, but my batteries do have an indicator of how long it's suppose to last (but it isn't always 100% accurate). I'll have to pay more attention next time I'm using them, but I have 3 x 150 w/hr batteries in my bag and a 190 w/hr. That lets me power my FX6 rig, 60X and gimbal setup when I go out on half/full day shoots.

@@YourStoryStudiosAh no worries. Always on the lookout for a reliable light with a reasonable power drawer. My 300Bi is glorious but chews through V-Mounts

Yeah, I have 2 60x, and p60c for my mobile kit on Flashpoint 9.5" air cushion stands. I recommend the aputure 4545 softbox, too.

Excellent! Thanks for watching. I do own an Aputure 300X and am toying with the idea of using that with a big lightdome... but due to the size and weight, I feel the 60X is a smaller and better option.

Great video but intrigued how that small hd 703 justifies spending more than on an additional camera body!? I’m probably going to get the newly updated ninja v with stop based false colour added but am still looking at options

Very good question! I was looking at cheaper options, but in the end I wanted a 10-bit panel that was bright and could be viewed in bright conditions. I found 1000 nits wasn't enough for all my shooting conditions, and I believe the SmallHD 703 is 2,200 nits. I like having the physical buttons as well and overall I saw it as an investment into my video production. I've also heard some producers really don't like the Atomos monitors and much prefer SmallHD... so if I can have the right tool in front of the right people, it is win/win and will HOPEFULLY lead to future bookings. A bit of a shallow answer, but it is what it is ;)

Could you share the place or what you did to your Sony antennas? I have the same units and would love to do the same upgrades.

Are you running the shotgun mic wirelessly into the Sony receiver?
And how do you find the diffusion of that small 60w set up compared to something like the light dome?

Excellent questions! I currently don't run the shotgun mic wirelessly. I am looking at getting the XLR transmitter, but haven't purchased yet. The NTG-3 is just running through an XLR cable into the top handle on the FX6.
The diffusion on the 60X does the job. I haven't had any negative comments from clients. I could use my Aputure 300X with lightdome to get a bigger and softer source, but depending on the shoot, it may be extra work for little to no reward. A lot of the space I go into are small and I need to be quick to setup/packup. I find the 60X is a great size and very easy to setup and packup quickly.
      Thanks for watching!
