@@thegamingt-rex3885 Plecos are not known to do this. You may have confused them with the *Siamese Algae Eater* which _does_ eat the scales and slime coats of other fish.
Also, if a Pleco is eating off a fish, it is most likely scavenging it anyway. Plecos are opportunistic scavengers, but are not equipped to hunt.

On a serious note, don't reuse that wooden frame... if the wall is leaning, all that stress going on the frame has probably already deformed it, and wood is only supposed to handle tensile strength in one direction. The weight of the wall likely is subjecting it to compressive stress as well, which it isn't made to handle. Better safe than sorry, replace the whole thing.

These fish have been together since atleast 1.5 years yet all of a sudden they exhibit this chasing behaviour( probably mating as they have reached maturity) but the victim fish gets pretty drained out and I did not take any further risk...

The goldfish in my grandpa's pond are fucking monsters. I've had multiple deaths caused by the (not-so) little fuckers. Poor goldfish with ripped fins, missing, bleeding eyes. Some even lived to tell the tale (for a year or two before they also bit the dust). I don't know why they do such a thing, maybe territory? The pond is roughly the size of a bathtub and not that big. Still, to have that many deaths caused by brutal mutilation. It's horrifying. I've even had to personally euthanize a few because I knew they had zero chance of surviving. I still remember the blood and guts that flowed out of their lifeless bodies. Bodies didn't go to waste though, plant food and all...
