We live in central California. On memorial day my husband, Kris, bbq hamburgers, hotdogs and grilled some onions. It was simple and delicious. Our weather was unusually around 75 - 85 degrees. Just wonderful. We enjoy yours and Shannons videos. We're in our 70ies and still enjoying whatever we're able to do. God bless you all. 🇺🇸
God bless yall and be safe
M in Central Floida andits 90 and bad humidity!
I am sorry you live in California. Please do NOT move and bring the laws your folks voted for; and bring that to nice, civilized small hometowns across America. We do not appreciate fvgs or flying the Ukrainian flag or rainbow flag MORE than our own American flag 🇺🇸
Be safe.😮
Very nice letter to Ken and Shannon. You both have A nice heart. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Makes me feel happy.
For y'all that don't know what a chipotle pepper is, it's a smoked jalapeno pepper. If found in a can it's in adobo sauce.. His joke about never cooking anything without jalapenos was tongue and cheek. Hilarious.
I made my battle buddy this similar meal back in 2005 in Iraq expect for the potato salad (which sounds delicious) for is 30th Birthday. I had his wife sneak the pork steaks, beans, some potatoes for baking, Charcoal, and his cake on a air force supply flight from Germany. We were all good friends with the pilots (yes Army and Air force can be friends LOL). It was one of the best meals I think we had that year. We made a grill from 55 gallon drums. It was a great little party in the middle of shit hole. If I remember correctly temps was still well above 130 degrees that time of year. (we also acquired some other ingredients and stuff from the chow hall).
Thanks so much for cooking for them and thank you all for your service
Thank you all for your courageous service
Much respect and honor to you all

I made this potato salad with dinner tonight. It's so good and is a huge hit with my family.
I love loaded baked potato salad & now I have your recipe to follow instead of buying it from the store. Thank you
We hope you enjoy and thanks for watching
You must be rich
@@rusted5408 Are you kidding? He's married to Shannon and has at least four dogs -- perhaps five. And read most of the comments about his and Shannon's cooking. Yes, indeed he is rich -- and rich far beyond what money can provide.
@@thewaywardwind548 must be rich to spend that much on one meal. Wow.
Made the pork steak. Best pork steak I've ever ate. No doubt the family will be asking for this one many more times.
My man will looooove this!!! 😋 Thank you so very much for sharing, much appreciated from Ontario 🇨🇦💖🦋
We’re in the 90’s today, humidity is high 🔥 but we cook on!!! 💪🇨🇦
Thanks for watching
Kent, that is a meal fit for a king!! Been eating pork steaks my whole life, 70+ years!
Get some pork on your fork 😋
Thanks for this one Kent what with how the state of things has been more folk are gonna have to stretch their meals out. May as well be some very tastey ones. 💙
Yup, dark days ahead.
@@csmw4483 Hard times make stronger people or so the saying goes. We'll make it work. God will see to the rest.
@@NotTheWheel Amen to that.
What you made is what I called pork and beans. Or I should say my dad’s version of pork and beans. Pop died several years back. This gives me one hell of a starting point to recreate a childhood memory! Thanks!
Go for it its awsome buddy
Another fine recipe and so good. Liked the red taters with the jackets left on sure miss the Eastern Ohio cooks, they didn't use mustard either. You did a great job with the fixin and I know it was all good too, thanks for sharing with us. Fred.
Your welcome Fred
There is not a lot of humidity in my area of Cali, but when it gets up to 110-114, it's a lot of fun for sure
Growing up and living just outside of St Louis still, pork steaks on the grill are a staple. Always with baked beans on the side and potato salad. Incorporating the beans with the pork steaks is an amazing idea!! I’ll be trying this soon Cowboy Kent.
Grew up in Southeast MO and living in STL Co. now. My DNA is probably 50% pork steak. The price can't be beat and I usually have a pack in the freezer for the grill. My cousins in Jeff. Co. didn't put beans on them, but threw them in an aluminum pan of barbecue sauce after grilling. Let it simmer on low on the gas grill. Literally fell apart. Good stuff.
You would be surprised how hard it is to find them in other parts of the country. Fortunately, we can get pork butt most of the year and cut boneless steaks off of them.
I made this Friday evening and took leftovers in to work Saturday. They were a huge hit. One of my buddies even saying ‘this is the best pork steak I’ve ever had’. No joke. They were phenomenal.
Hey Kent and Shannon! Last weekend, here in NW Georgia, I cooked a small 10 lb. Beef Brisket on the Char Griller Akorn Smoker. It, and our Baked Beans & Homemade Bread were delicious! The weather here thus-far is the best we have had in years. Our high temps have mostly been in the 70's and 80's F' going into June. When it gets hot here, in the 90's and 100's, we just have to tough it out... Many times in mid-summer when the humidity is so thick it can be cut with a knife, I've wished we had some of your Oklahoma breeze just to stir things up! Thank you for another Great Video Recipe!
On Sunday (5/28/2023), I smoked some chicken wings at 275-300 degrees with apple wood. It was about 75 degrees here in southeastern Wisconsin. Thanks for all the shout outs to our cheese.
If you have ever experienced an asphalt parking lot in the full sun, that about sums up summer here in Georgia. If you want the full effect then hang out in that same hot parking lot when it rains just a little bit. Love your videos Sir and Madam.
Blessings from KENTUCKY...Thank you Kent!!! Always love your videos. The food, the out takes, the Pups & time for remembering Our service men & women!❤
Thanks Mary and God bless you
This looks delicious and has my mouth watering. Those Pork Steaks & Beans along with the Potato salad is a full meal. I'm going to have to try your Potato salad recipe this weekend. God Bless y'all.
Hope you enjoy
The pork steak and beans looks good. The potato salad looks like it might be good if you leave the cheese off (I can't eat cheese).
Y'all know he's doing it right because he's using Duke's mayonnaise. That's the real stuff.
Your food looks delish! Your dance has a good step!! Shalom!!
I'm going to try this out, looks amazing
Hey Kent, it’s 78 today just below Atlanta, Ga. It’s Cloudy and Perfect day for Grillling!
Great day it is
We are in SE Georgia and it's really been a mild June so far. We done some pork steaks on the grill, some rice and butter beans and a salad for dinner. I absolutely love y'alls channel and one day I would love to meet you guys in person. God Bless.
I made the potato salad tonight. The BEST potato salad I've ever ate. Thank you so much.
We're 90 here in north Texas today with about 50% humidity after the rain yesterday. I'm absolutely loving this meal! I never thought of putting the pork steaks in the beans to finish cooking! Great, and tasty idea!
So easy and so good
Hey Kent we are on the space coast of Florida. Great video! I cook steaks on my kettle grill directly with oak lump charcoal to sear it flipping often until brown. Then, I cook it on the indirect side until medium rare :). I use a gravity 560 smoker also! I don’t mind the heat!!! I’ve recently been learning how to properly cook in a wok and I use a 270,000 btu burner outside. I love outdoor cooking in Florida. Besides that air conditioning feels so good when you go back inside after being in the heat😊! But, anyway, I cook outside all year long over here!
New subscriber here! Hello from Utah 👋 I feel blessed to have found your channel! My family is going to be thrilled! Thank you 🙏🎉❤
You were asking what the temperature is like where we are. I've lived in the snow in Southern California and in San Diego for 30 years. It doesn't matter what time of year it is it just matters what temperature is your smoker and your barbecue. My opinion. 🤠🇺🇲
Yep everyday is a wood burning day
I'm from Corning, NY and I would never leave out the mustard, or pickle relish, but I never thought of sour cream and creame cheese (although I put cream cheese in my potato filling for my Pierogi's)! Thanks for the amazing idea to top the pork steak with the beans! I've got to try it!
We hope you enjoy
TX here. Grilling at night when it cools down is the only time we can do it. ;)
Here in Ontario Canada we are sitting at 30c. I've been doing a lot of stuff out on the grill. Definitely going to try this meal. And the baked potato salad looks like a good lunch box idea.
Got anymore ideas for lunch box worker.
Kent & Shan you all make the simplest meals so great I couldn’t hardly watch with out eating something 😊
By far the best pork, beans and potato salad
Looks absolutely delicious
You did it again Kent and Shannon
Amazing
Definitely worth the farts it is
Howdy Kent! Grilling from Fayetteville, AR. It's a beautiful 80 degree day. Will definitely be using the loaded baked potato salad recipe this weekend! Y'all stay safe and enjoy the summer.
Hope you and everyone enjoys
Perfect picnic meal
Great recipe. Thanks for reminding me that pork steaks still exist. Used to be very common but seem to have fallen out of favor in my area. Appreciate it!
I've been waiting for years for you to make a potato salad! It's my favorite thing about summer. I love this pork steak recipe, too. I usually make sweet and sour pork out of pork steak, but I can't wait to try it this way. Thanks Kent and Shan! Hope to see down the Calgary Stampede trail one day
Would sure like to see it and the country there
When I lived in Houston I didn't know anyone that grilled. Everyone had an Old Smokey smoker (even though it's sold as a grill). Low and slow, all day, start in the morning, be ready for dinner.
I'm cooking here in Southern California near the coast. The weather has been in the 70s. Very nice for cooking out. And my local grocery store does carry Ranch Style beans so I look forward to trying this delicious looking meal. Thank you!
What I've noticed with store-bought pork lately (last several years) is that the flavor is like garbage. I think they are just fattening them up on the cheapest stuff they can find.
They're feeding all the animals worse quality food nowadays.
Including us.
That’s why it’s important to support your local farms. Way better quality meat.
@@JoshEbersole Right 👍
profit is the bottom line and quality is not the most important thing
Exactly right, when I buy pork steak at Kroger you're right it has no flavor you got to put a ton of spice on it, but when I go to the local butcher in town and get pork chops because they don't have pork steak all I do is put a little salt pepper and garlic on it and it's amazing 😊
I need chopped pickles or relish in my potato salad so that's the one thing I'd add. Everything looks delicious and I swear I can smell it from here! 😁
I thought I was one of the few that love relish in as well. I also add deviled eggs
@@richbennett6577 I forgot the eggs! Only difference is I just add boiled eggs since the "deviled egg filling" is already in the dressing.
@@lynneedwards3208 i understand! I separate the whites from the yolks and make the dressing with the yolks and add the whites with the potatoes
them are some weird bake potatoes
I do olives in my tuna salad can't eat it without.
Brother Kent, I'm in Vero beach florida , and have cooked all over , now in vero 98 , real feel , he'll ish. around hot and humid through out the summers , south even worse . Love ya my friend's .
Just finished this one,,,,, family was amazed. Thanks
Pork steak is the way to go! Beans look great, close to how I make'em, and I love the idea on that potato salad!
Awesome job my friend!
Thanks
Oh my gosh! That looks so good. I'm drooling 🤤
Same here.
For $30 it better be. Sheesh. Ppl have too much money if you can spend $30 on dinner for a family
WOW, Sir.... you hit it out of the ballpark with this one!
I just made both recipes. While the potato salad was amazing, I don't have words for the pork steak/ beans.
Since I don't have a charcoal grill at the moment, I used a pressure cooker to cook the beans/ pork. It turned out freaking delicious! Your list of ingredients were perfect. I wouldn't change a thing. (I used the optional blend).
Thank you! I'll impress a few folks with this one!
I'm sooo jealous of those cowboys!
(I've always loved pork steak)!
How did I miss this video? This recipe looks awesome but I'll probably not try it for a few weeks. Its insanely hot in North East Arkansas. Temp in the mid 90's with about 80% humidity, miserable weather to be grilling. I usually oven cook pork steak in a pan of gravy low and slow. This cooked with the baked beans has to be good. The secret to good baked beans is Hatch Green Chilies. You get lots of chili flavor, yet they aren't so hot the wife objects. Thank you and God bless.
That loaded tater salad looks amazing!!! Can't wait to give it a go. As for the pork steaks, never had one so that is a must to do. Looks like I got a bit of work to do this afternoon. Thanks Cowboy Kent. Much appreciated.
Hope you enjoy and thanks
This is good eatin'! Have done the meal similarly, but never thought to do the steaks and beans together, great idea. Molasses in my beans, along with a little powdered mustard and a sprinkle of cinnamon. I can't do any of the hot peppers because I am really allergic to them, but the rest of my ingredients are like yours. I'm from Missouri, and pork steaks are a summer staple. Our son moved to New Jersey for school and was dumbfounded when they didn't know what a pork steak was. He told the butcher, just slice me a pork butt into 3/4 inch slices. The butcher said, "Damn, I learned something new today!" They both had a good laugh. Instead of the cream cheese in the potato salad, I add some ranch dressing, oh, and a little of the bacon grease, 'cause everything's better with bacon grease 😋. Love your videos, keep them coming!
We thank you for watching
Powdered Ginger is tasty to dress up canned beans, it is.
Nice job! I will use this one. We appreciate you guys.
Thanks Kent and Shannon. Great video. We've been cooking chicken in a huie huie sauce. I have no idea if I spelled it correctly I just bought it and she cooked it. We've had some warm days this spring but it is fairly cool right now. The mountains are full of snow so we're loving the cool weather. hope the snow lasts till August. It has been dry for twenty years. God bless you and the viewers
Thanks Richard and God bless you
Smothered pork steaks with the delicious baked beans. Mighty nice.
Thanks Richard
Kent proves he can cook without using jalapeños by using chipotle peppers instead, which are smoked jalapeños 😂. Great recipe though, I’m definitely going to try it in the best Spring weather we’ve had in years here in the NC piedmont.
I was just laughing over that
THANK YOU for this GREAT video!!! Looks delicious! I will try this very soon
It was a little chilly and rainy in East Tennessee. The guys braved the weather and made some yummy burgers and dogs! All of us ladies finished off the feast with sides. Enjoy your videos every week! God bless!!
Thanks Debbie and God bless you
This looks DELICIOUS 😋. Love your videos and content. Yes, I put mustard in my potato salad 😁
I always put a "tad" of mustard in mine too. Gives it just a tiny non-spicy kick.
I can't wait to give this a try this weekend. I lost both of my hound dog taste testers & I really miss my boys. They would always be by my side and loved it when I cooked. I did make the mistake of giving a couple butter beans to my beagle once. You will not make that mistake twice, I promise you. PJ
This looks great ,love watching your channel
As always this looks amazing. Thank you for all you do. God bless you and the puppy dogs!
This is right in the zone for the times. I cut my grocery run down to once every 2 weeks. All the stuff I get costs 400 bucks and it’s gotta feed all 4 of us for the duration. Lots of stews. Big challenge is eating lots of vegetables. Keeping nutrition in mind🐸🍺🔪🔥
You pay $800/month for groceries? 😢
Yeah bro. Hawaii is one of the most expensive places in the world. For most my life I’ve had 3 jobs and I work in kitchens so I don’t go hungry. I’ve got a wife and 2 kids. It’s 2400 a month for a one bedroom out here…
@Johnny Harper Scouts Table damn, dude, sorry. I admire you for working 3 jobs when most don't work at all nowadays. Hey, at least you get to reside in Hawaii, though.
Yeah. Thought about leaving but I’ve got lots of family here and I’m doing really great in my career. I’m a sushi chef at the four seasons resort. I’m happy. Just work allot. Lifestyle man…
Pork steak!? Didnt know people outside of Missouri knew of them
like # one over here
Live in Texas and eat 'em all the time!
In Texas & Louisiana they don’t, butcher says he never heard of them!
Every time we butcher a hog we make a pile of Pork Steaks!
@@daveruff7722 I lived in houston and no one knew of them there
You the man, Kent! Love your style and recipes.

SW Oklahoma here. With this rainy month of May we've had a lot of humidity this year. I'm from the east and am used to it. I like it.
We sure needed the rain
Love you guys. Best cooking show ever!!!
I absolutely love yall's videos and have binged watched almost all of them. You hit the nail on the head when you talked about the humidity. Im in south Alabama & we didnt grill out any this summer between the temps over 100 plus humidity.

Gulf Coast here. I have a Blackstone and gas grill on my screened-in back patio (smoker and Weber Kettle are outside the screened-in portion). I cooked some strip steaks last week. It was 92F on the patio when I fired the grill up. When I took the steaks off after 10 minutes of heating the grill and five minutes of cooking it was 104F. Humidity was 86%. Nothing like having to make sure you're hydrating properly before cooking dinner. :)
Ken you just added jalapeno peppers to your beans with the chipotle peppers. As you know, chipotle peppers are mature red abalone peppers.
Hello Kent and greetings from Oregon. Dry and about 75 for the week so far. Love your show and getting inspiration to cook for the household.

Cowboy Kent, My name is Jake I’m from St.Louis and it’s low 90 degrees here. Getting Muggy next to the Mississippi River. Never stopped me before. An ice cold refreshment keep me going. People around here claim St.Louis invented pork steaks. Looks great Sir!
Spent all my life in Texas and recently moved to Mississippi. When people talk about a dry heat being more tolerable they are spot on! Cooked out yesterday and it was 94 but with the 50% humidity it made the heat index 103! That kind of temp you walk out and it feels like you opened the door to a sauna!
Now that's a great meal.
It's winter for us here in South Africa, cold and dark.
