Kent you and Shannon make me so happy that I'm calling random people in the phone book that i don't even know. And letting them know that yall are my mom and dad. Lol jk but seriously you 2 rock.
Agreed!!!!!!
That microphone he wore really picked up the sounds of life
Possibly even a international treassure 🙂
Cheers from Sweden
You will get bored
God bless the cowboy that loves their mama & respects his country’s service men & women.
Your comments on bay leaves brought back memories of my childhood. My mother was an excellent cook, but she also had a sense of humor. When she would make spaghetti sauce (marinara), she would always leave one bay leaf buried in the sauce. Whoever got the bay leaf in their scoop of sauce had to do the dishes after dinner. Somehow my mom and dad never got that leaf. It was always one of us kids.
😂 🤣 😂 🤣 😂 🤣
Now, that is a great con.
Brilliant 😂
😂😂😂 good idea
That's some heartwarming memory!
Came here for the food; stayed for the love & blessings.
Thanks Uncle Kent 🥹
God bless! 🙏🏽
I believe we would all be better off if we watch Cowboy Kent instead of the news. The beautiful countryside at sunset, a group of good dogs, family and friends, good food, and prayers of gratitude to the Lord. This is what life is about.
Amen! We need more people loving Jesus and his father, Lord. ❤ So much anti Christian beliefs. The devil is having an easy time collecting souls right now. Breaks my heart.
Aren't Mums just brilliant ... The love, the cooking, and the wisdom.
Miss mine everyday since she passed.
I hear you on that, my mother taught me a lot about cooking and life
Kent, the wife and I were at the intimate evening where the marriage proposal happened. You, Shan and the rest of your crew were the perfect hosts for that event, and we appreciated your hospitality. We would drive the 1000k+ miles again in a heartbeat. God bless you and your family.
We thank you so much for joining us, God bless you and yours
@@CowboyKentRollins Kent, I truly want to thank you and Shan for sharing your blessings with all of us, it's really easy to see the Lord shining through both of you. I love the Pets also, these videos make a difference more than just cooking. God bless
As a kid about 8 I ate a bay leaf. It hurts like hell going in an out ! ! !
Dude that’s awesome 😊
While the world is in questionable shambles. Mr. Rollins knows how to keep the American spirit alive. Thank you for keeping our values and traditions alive as we all forget where we came from
If folks would gather around that table and bless the food and those around them it would be a happy meal all around
@@CowboyKentRollins thank you for your contributions to our culture, history, and country. I appreciate your reply good sir
I'm not religious at all, but when Kent tells me to bow my head in prayer I's gon right along!
Should be. It feels so good admitting you believe Jesus is the son of God and be full body submerged in a baptistry. None of that sprinkling like some do. Non denomination Church of christ is the way to go. GOD WANTS TO KNOW YOU! ❤ Id love to see you come judgment day. God bless.
I grew up on a small family farm here in Ohio, and remember coming home after school, coming in the side door which was the kitchen door. You could immediately smell the aroma of what mama was cooking for supper. Her pot roast was my favorite. To this day, my brother and sisters are scattered all over the country, and we all still cook her beloved pot roast. We’re all in our 60’s now, but our kids and grandkids have come to love moms roast. I miss my parents, think of them almost daily at some point. One day we will all be reunited at Christ’s bounty….what a day that will be. May Christ Jesus dwell in each of you who read this. May God bless America, we sure need his guidance now more than ever.
-Steve, Ohio 🇺🇸
Uncle Kent.......yep that’s what I’m calling ya. The blessing at the end made me feel like a part of your family. I’ve been watching your videos for years now. Thank you for bringing a family vibe to everything you do. We all need that right now in the world, even if we are strangers. Amen
I absolutely love Kent and I know the Lord does too.
My favorite comfort food. Thank you, Kent and Shannon. Edit: Holy schnikies! I just noticed that you have 2.25M subscribers. Way to go. You've worked so hard for this!
Mine too.
@engineer gaming Can you read?
I love cooking a roast in cold weather, so it is about time to cook one.
@engineer gaming go back under rock.
@engineer gaming
Goodness. A simple question. Your question didn’t deserve such a vitriolic response. The answer is, his favorite “comfort food.” (See how easy that was to give a simple, yet polite response?)
Whenever someone says that American food and food culture sucks I try to get them to watch your videos. No one can tell me with a straight face that what you cook doesn't look absolutely delicious - and it's all made by hand and from fresh ingredients!
Thanks
People that say that about us have never been here!! They're ignorant!
I've lived and worked in several countries. Most people I know ,know good food.
The people you refer to think the U.S. is a fast food stop . That's probably how they eat in their own countries.
Well some people from other countries cook with their feet! Nuff said!!
@@emilywhitfield2780 I can't say for 100% sure but of the majority I definitely know they've never been to the US indeed.
My grandmother's beef roast was what I requested for my birthday dinner every year. This really reminds me of her recipe, although she didn't use a Dutch oven or coals. Haha. Miss her.
Thanks James for watching
Hello sir James ☺
You know what? Come to think of it, my Grammaw's roast beef was what I remember her making the most. She was born in 1887. Lived to 98 years old. My request for my birthday supper was my mom's chicken and dumplings. We raised our own chickens. Sure miss those days. Big family.

God bless your mamma ❤️looks great! From the northern prairies of🇨🇦❤️
We thank you James so much
The soul he puts in his cooking. Amazing!
it's a cool rainy day here, 39. neighbor had a big old pile brush firen going in his cow field yesterday. went by it this morning, there was a cow laying right next to the still warm smoldering coals. BIG POT ROAST 😋
Yep i bet it was
I will never tire of watching Kent Rollin's. Besides the Pasta Grannie's, he's one of the most authentic people on this platform. I love how he paid homage to his mom and always remembers our service men and women. Love those doggies, too :)
Best Sunday meal that I remember momma fixing. She would put it on before we left for church. When we came home the house smelled so good and the food tasted even better. Thanks for the memories.
Our pleasure Marcia
Only thing that fills the house with a close second smell is fresh bread:)
@@brian70Cuda roast is good, but bread is better.👍
@@sam__304 It's very nice for sure:) Grew up smelling both. So nice!
One of the best outside cooking channels in youtube, very nice to see old recipies. Your channel pushed me to go outside from concrete jungles in real wildlife and I started cooking from your recipies too. Me and my wife are very happy to see new videos on your channel folks, keep doing this in the best form! Greetings from Jonas and Elena, Vilnius Lithuania!❤❤❤❤
This has been on the table for as long as I can remember. And my memory goes back near 50 years. Always smells good, always tastes good. Fills the belly and fills the heart.
What a great video and great channel. The world would be so much better if it were filled with more Kent and Shans. Love the prayer. And i love that u thank us viewers and treat us like family. Also its great that you are using your moms techniques and recipes and also teaching us your own spin. Its like you are leaving your own legacy and creating one for your mom that we can now pass on to others. What a legacy! Thanks for being so great :)
God Bless both of you...every time I see one of your videos, I walk away smiling. You can turn around the most challenging day with your honest goodness, heart, and spirit. Keep up the good work!

At my mom's house around 60 years ago, pot roast was a Sunday thing, too. A cozy meal, everybody talking and laughing, a sense of peace and love. Just great for warding off winter's chill. I still have her Dutch oven, and I miss those times. Thanks, Kent and Shannon for all the good vibes and love that come with your videos!
We thank you so much for watching and those were great times
Thank you kent, god bless, you made me emotional with that blessing. I live on my own and don’t have anyone to share my meals with. Your meals are the best I’ve made! I just finished up eating the cowboy goulash and it was oh so good! Got leftovers for the rest of the week for work when I’m driving along the railway. Thank you, and god bless all your souls.

Amen, our friend we all miss our Mothers and those Sunday dinners.
Well you've put a few more tears in my eye Mr Cowboy Kent!!! Thank you and may the heavens above always keep you in the light of the blessed!!!
Kent and Shannon, my momma also had a pot roast she did every Sunday. I inherited her large Magnalite roasting pan that she would slow roast all day in the oven. Then on Monday she would take the leftovers (her roasts were 8 to 10 pounders) add a few more veggies and cook it down to make the best hash you ever put in your mouth. Ummm. Thank you so very much for your wonderful videos. You two are a treat. God Bless and congratulations on the over 2 million subscribers.
This is the first cooking show that brought tears to my eyes...Kent, you are the greatest! After this video, if you cooked a rock I would try it...😊
God bless you Mr. Rollins and your spouse and family. I love your cooking’ and giving thanks to Him just is right. Amen.👍❤️🙏🏼✝️🇺🇸
Thank you for including us all in your videos Kent!
So blessed to be part of your family.
-Cheers!
It took you long enough I know I asked you I think 3 years ago. But does it ever bring back memories my mom made the best roast beef and then she would cook the juices down and add a little corn starch in and it would become the best brown gravy in the world. It went great on top of those boiled red potatoes as those are the only type dad would allow in the house.
So good that roast gravy is, We thank you my friend for watching
Just like my grandma used to make. Yes sir and amen. 👍🇺🇸

@@CowboyKentRollins the best cook but the conversations about life I really miss
Kent thank you for the awesome recipe and the wonderful prayer as well - in these trying times, prayer is so needed. Love you and Shannon and the pups too of course. Thank you for what you do!
Bay leaves are generally not eaten because they can break and have sharp edges that can do bad things in the digestive tract. But you can blitz them into a powder and eat them just fine -- I use that for my garam masala blend all the time.
But what are they good for...do they improve the taste/flavor of what you're cooking?
It's so refreshing to see a good down to earth Christian man making family friendly content . U never have to worry about what my kids are watching when we are watching u Cowboy Ken thank u 🙏. God bless

Loved that Jesus was honored before the meal. Thanks Kent . The food looked good and is one of my favorite dishes
I remember learning how to make this as a youngster, my mom made the best bread and the two together were wonderful!! The weather is getting colder!! Time for some comfort food!!
Love me some Sunday or any day Pot Roast!
On the topic of Bay Leaves, Mama always told me we take ‘em out cause, if you eat ‘em, they come out just the way they went in! 😜
and scratch your insides
Yeah, don't eat the bay leaves. They add flavor, but are not good to eat. Like eating a dry leaf off the ground...🤣
Gotta love Kent’s happy dance 👍
Always😊
Thanks so much
Thanks for that. My Mom, now 90 is still 'rousting-about' and as a knee-high I looked over many a pot, skillet and baking pan and never knew I was learning something. Now in my 67th I cook almost everyday, sometime full meals and sometimes prep for meals. 'Got me' a dutch oven (or two) and will give the pot roast a go. Cheers, Mark
Thank Mark for watching and tell your mother i said howdy
Great video Kent and Shan! Thank you for sharing your cookin’ and for sharing your faith. In this old world we seem to just hear and see the bad. It’s good to know there’s still folks that stand for Jesus. Love y’all! Keep it up!

Mr. Rollins, I am about to embark on a new journey and I hope your cooking will help out. My wife passed away on December 4th and it's all up to me now. I hope this doesn't sound harsh. I really don't care about eating now, but I will have to in order to survive. I miss her so much. Thanks for all the great videos. My best to your Mrs.
I’m so sorry for your loss. Bless you and May you have peace.
Bless your heart, so sorry to hear of your loss. When we marry, we become one…I am in him and he is in me. Your wife sees through your eyes and hears through your ears….now, you must carry on, see everything you can, relish every sound, so she may live on through you. When your heart is quiet, you will hear angels speak. Peace
You are (truly) in my prayers. Sometimes folks say that, but don’t really mean it. I really mean it. Since the summer of 2020, we (my family and myself) have lost SO MANY CLOSE FRIENDS AND FAMILY that sometimes, it just seems like the world is crumbling below our feet. Hang in there and make sure you remember to: H.A.L.T.!!,
which means, while you are healing, never allow yourself to get too

Food is definitely about creating memories and sharing with others. I also like using a base of onion, as well as carrot and celery, on my pot roast. It's also a good support for the roast, and it adds extra flavour. That pot roast looks great. Thanks to our farmers and ranchers for helping to feed us, and thanks to our troops and our vets for their services. Cheers, Kent and Shannon, and God Bless! 👍👍✌️🙏

I could almost smell it through my phone screen. I expected all the pups to be sitting right there waiting.❤️🔥
Thank you Kent. I woke up real early and was feeling low this morning due to some things depressing me over which I have no control, including the sad state of affairs we are living in. A friend has a daily thoughts he send out, and in it he cited the old song "His Eye Is On The Sparrow", which I have loved all my life. Then, my wife said we need a recipe for a roast to cook when we go camping next week. And here you were saving the day. I hope mine turns out just as good, though it will be my first cook in my new dutch oven. And your blessing and talk about your mother and family really cheered me up to know the whole world can stand against us and we still have the Lord's love and grace to depend on. God Bless you and Shannon today, my friend.

After all these years he is aging well and cooking better. I've used many of your cowboy recipes and they have always been a hit with the family
one of my favorite meals.
So good
Hopefully this will help to answer your bay leaf question.
Bay leaves are great to cook with but are almost impossible to eat. They are considered a choking hazard and if you were successful in chewing and swallowing it could become a blockage in your digestive system. Hence why cooks across the world always remind you to remove them before serving.
Thank you for all your wonderful videos.
Thanks Heidi
If they don't become soft from the cooking they can also even cause tearing in the intestine, so its important to always remove them. This only applies to the dry ones since they are very stiff.
In times of turmoil, it is so nice to watch your vids. You remind me of how great America was and how great it can be. God bless you and yours.
