- In this video I help my buddy Braxton out by digging down to the foundation of his home, so he can seal up a small crack in his foundation
Well, the basement will eventually spring another leak. The water needs a place to go. It really needs the complete side of the basement dug out, perforated tile going to a sump pit and backfill with pea fill. The water will always find the next easiest place to get in if not properly drained off. But this seems to be an easy fix and could possibly work for quite a few years. The little trencher seems to do the job and with that size tree near by, I'm sure you had to deal with a few good size roots.
I’m surprised we didn’t hit any roots! I thought for sure a root would have been caused his leak.
What did he used for a rubberized sealant to cover the crack in the foundation? How did work out for him?

I been considering investing in either the harbor freight backhoe or the northern tools one.. sure a lot cheaper than the attachment for my Kubota L2900.. i was concerned they would dig very well but looks like they do pretty good probably abit slower than regular backhoe..
I do wish it was faster! But it has worked very well for me!
Either way it still beats a shovel!!!

Did your buddy seal the wall ? Is it leaking still? Iam considering this because of basement leaks on few places at a new house I just purchased
Yes he rolled/brushed on a thick black basement outside sealer. He told me it worked great! He had not had leaking issues since. After he put the sealer on, he let it dry a couple days and then rented a skid steer to put all the dirt back
