Paint fade console table makeover

In my head I had planned a quick and easy flip with this one - I wanted to strip the finish and just give it a paint wash. As with all vintage pieces, there are often curveballs thrown our way and this was no exception. The stain had sunk into the grain on the top and no amount of sanding was going to sort it out. There are other solutions that I could have done to try and even the patchy woodgrain out but I am the first to admit that I'm all about the easy life - so I decided for the paint option. There are still hints of the woodgrain as I used a technique I am calling a 'paint fade' which I have done before on a couple of pieces and allows you to still retain some of the original wood and combine it with paint.
