    Very cool! I've got the 2019 version and would love to throw a gauge on there some day.

      In the 2019 version, you don't have enough space to put the pressure gauge on the front. Inside, there's a plastic holder for the controls. I was reworking a 2019 model once and put a pressure gauge on the side

    Been thinking about this mod and the dimmer switch mod instead of the opv, why have the pump waste water when I could just reduce the flow to 9 bar. At least then I'd have the option to go higher than 9bar should I wish. I think I'll leave the PID out for now, mine seems to pull shots just fine to be honest, no difference than the commercial gaggia except for the 10 seconds to wait for the steam.

    It was gas powered driller that you used, wasn't it, do you think that home use battery powered drillers are able to make through stainless?

      Hey, I'm using a 230v cordless drill. I think that if your drill has a fairly high speed, you can easily drill this hole.

    Hi, I notice that the gauge needle is stable, is this because of the capillary? I have a portafilter mounted gauge and the needle vibrates very aggressively. Thanks

    • @Gaggia_Fixer
      @Gaggia_Fixer  3 роки тому

      The one on the portafilter I use is a glycerin manometer, glycerin keeps the needle from vibrating.
      The one that I installed in the casing of the coffee machine is of good quality and does not vibrate. Maybe you have the wrong pressure gauge? Maybe your prortafilter pressure gauge is only for air installation? I used to have one that came from the air installation and it was trembling terribly.

      It is a thin brass tube/pipe to send pressure from pump to gauge. You can bend it by hand to line up with T fitting.

    • @Gaggia_Fixer

      The pump is able to deliver up to 14bar, but nowhere is it said that you need so much pressure to make a good espresso.

    I'm going to do the same mod with my Gaggia Classic and ordered all the parts already... Just not sure if I need anything to fit the T-connector in the original tube from pump to OPV? Just cut the tube and screw it in? The ends of the tube on the original connectors to pump and OPV are thickened... How to achieve this in the additional T-connector? Or not necessary at all and it keeps tight by just screwing it on? I'm afraid to cut the tube and it won't be tight after... Means no coffee until the spare part would arrive! Would very much appreciate an answer! Cheers
