@@creativemindsyoutube He really is! "Madvillainy" by Madblib/MF DOOM is one of my favorite Albums. The way these types of artists sample has always been a musical inspiration for me. damn, that bucket of water quote is really sweet. that resonates with me, being 20, working a 9-5, trying my best to stay afloat and seeing all these horrible things that go on in the world, i DO start to feel apathetic. sometimes even apathetic to the people i love, and the things that should matter. the rest of the stress seems to bring down the value of the few indisputable blessings i have. so dealing with that apathy in a generalized sense, throwing water on the problems of the world when you can, would probably help a lot with keeping in check the way depression creeps in and makes sweet moments sour. the knowledge you do what you can, i guess.

Everybody has a different perspective of what “success” looks like to them. Some people don’t care about popularity & some only care about popularity. Being a great artist is a combination of being an introvert & staying focused on a craft while also getting your music heard by the world & network & make connections with people. My problem is I used to like being around people but over time I’ve realized nobody treats me how I treat them so I feel the average person doesn’t understand my point of view. This is why I make music for myself & by myself cuz it turns out the way I want it to everytime & it doesn’t cost extra for me to record or make beats myself, depending on the day. The greatest artists have a balance of being social and being introverted sometimes I think your relationship with yourself is what matters the most & the fact that you respect yourself as a creator/ source
Self respect, and loving your own practice whichever way it takes you, that sounds good to me. Thanks for sharing your story and adding to the page here.
thank you for sharing, incredibly helpful perspective, especially "mastery of self". I've been working on that in different categories of my life, especially relating to navigating a new mental health diagnosis different from the previous one, and looking at my own history through a lens of Neurodivergence and giving myself Grace instead of internalizing all of the '-isms' acquired through living in this world.
