"Could she simply be a woman?" I don't care what logic you use Preston. You can't convince me that there isn't actually a race of sexy ice demon waifu's north of the wall.
What if at first she was that a wildling woman but the nights watch or northmen killed her and the nights king went to the others to find a way to resurrect her...but then they had to make a pact with the others to offer children and that’s when all the other shenanigans happen with nights king and Queen I know it’s a rough draft of an idea but maybe it’s a bit of the truth but also prestons practical thinking
I take a certain amount of solace that I'm not the only one who has attempted to wrap his head around the biomechanics of human copulation with a frigid woman.
Two things to note: 1. Benjen Stark distrusted/disliked Craster, as he never went to Craster's Keep when he went ranging despite it being the only outpost north of the wall. 2. Craster immediately picked out Jon Snow as having the look of a Stark, despite the fact that the only Stark he ever would have seen was Benjen, who didn't visit his keep if he could help it. This implies that Craster is familiar with the Stark line through other means.
travdye347 interesting... i do remember that GRRM once wrote an obscure novella about a gender swapping time traveling noble called „the princes bride“ Obvious parallels?
This is simply GENIUS work. Even if it all turns out wrong; Preston your work on this series and the depth to which you break it down with actual thought is simply amazing! I hope you do write your own book series one day, I’d be one of the first to buy and read it!
I think it just means that Others have a strong preference for skinchanger babies, as those are the ones that can learn to control (warg) corpses. There are probably some regular others that just serve as powerful footsoldiers.
Playing devil's advocate, the night's king rule may have been only gradually revealed. If he kept the wife secret and gradually brought more of the Watch under her influence. Finally, the Stark and KBTW both agreed that the Watch had been compromised. Man, that would be a sick story.
Just a heads up if someone wants to poke holes into the eye color difference in the potential Albino Night's Queen: some forms of albinism do not effect the eyes and others typically do not give red eyes (my fiance is Albino and her eyes tend to be a steel color unless she is in a dark area looking at a well lit area; they are red then).
Oh Happy Day! I've been waiting with such (im)patience for this video! I can't get quality literary analysis like yours anywhere else! And your theories are always so well-reasoned and well-presented. I'd pay good money just for the latter two!
I love this/the whole north series. I think initially everyone is by and large fascinated with the east, the doom of Valyria, dragons, but there’s so much going on in the north. The way you put everything together and try to approach each thing logically to figure the bigger picture out is why I love your videos.
I am not tall for Dutch standards but compared to the rest of the world I am far above average. But now I wonder where Jacobs lives (I want to meet him in person)
My height is about the global average of 1.75m, which is also great since all things are designed with people of like me in mind. Suffer in Airplane Purgatory ya tall bastards! I don't know about meeting him, could be cool but in the end I think he'll be just another tall guy telling me my idea's are wrong :-D.
This might be a bit boring news for you but I just found out that another youtuber I watch is also living in the Netherlands. Mind is blown. But I am 1,78. I got bullied for being really small until 3 years ago. But I miss being small, life is easier when you are small
Hey Preston if you're going to make shirts you should do a Shade of the lamp shirt and a Gilbert King ! shirt ,Oh and maybe a Ser Twenty Goodmen shirt .
Gahhhhhhh!!! How can I wait for part 3? Even sans the snarky lugubriousness of your NK character, and the bumbling stoner-Knight Tod, you SLAY me. But I HATE WAITING (which makes me your standard ASOIAF fan.). Thank you, Preston.
Preston, get your merchandising going. You've created such classic characters over the years. Get 'em on t-shirts so I can wear them nerdly on my chest!
Blue eyes isn't an albino trait. I like the idea that she's some sort of ice sorceress similar to Melisande as a fire sorceress. Considering the Night's Queen is colder than normal, but warm enough for copulation, like Mel is warm, but not too warm to touch. The 13 year rule leaves open the possibility that his sacrifices were the Others he was sacrificing to. Could this be the first time Others were created? Perhaps as an effort to survive the long night? I don't think they were inbred. What do you mean when you say "contemporary" in this context?
Preston great video! I am so glad you brought up House Blackwood because I would have asked you if the Nights King was one. That would account for them being exiled to the South but still being so loyal to the Starks. In addition, it might also tie back to Daenerys who is also half-Blackwood.
Old video but you might answer: do you think that if the others have been after this telepathy (hive mind) gene, that any of the Starks the generation before our current storyline had the ability? For example, are there signs that point to Lyanna or Brandon or Benjin being wargs? Or is it likely to have skipped a generation? Or is it that magic just now became strong again?
@prestonjacobs u devil u. On a saturday morning? With as avengers infinity war out? Way to start the weekend. Thanks man... I've been impatiently waiting for a month lol
I can't help but think the Starks had the name erased from history because they wanted to protect their own name (reputation) and not have and black mark or shame associated with them
Great stuff. Keep it up. This made me think of an correlation with the show. So the WWs were looking for telepathic babies. These babies were then changed into WWs.These WWs would then add to the Telepathic WiFi strength of the Nights King. Allowing the Nights King and the WWs to control a larger force of whites.
So if all the Stark children are wargs then that means that catelyn must have the recessive gene for skin changing as well, right? Could this be why littlefinger is interested in catelyn then sansa?
I have a simple answer for the question at the end of your video: George wants to make a parallel to real life, where one and the same practice a few hundred/thousand years apart are one time viewed as completely intolerable, but later are even viewed as the most intelligent thing possible in that situation.
I have white skin and blue eyes and when I stand out in the snow, my skin gets cold. I think Preston is making this alot more difficult than he needed to.
do all the others bring the cold? or is coldbringing a telepathic ability unique to a select few others with the right genetics, similar to dragon riding, dragon hatching, warging, greensight, and wind telekenises? Maybe the reason the others havent invaded westeros in 1000 years is because they had to wait for a craster baby with the right mix of telepathic genes to lead them?
Preston, I came across an interesting idea the other day. In Westrose, many "magical" families seem to have poor fertility, Sweetrobin and the Arryns in general seeming to be prime examples. Targs have lots of kids, but a lot of them get sick, die, or are just generally not healthy. Then we have the Starks. Catylen was pregnant after her wedding knight, then had 4 more healthy kids, no miscarriages that we know of. We KNOW Luwin studied magic. Do you think there is a chance the anti-magic maesters are...interfering with magical families and Luwin isn't, or maybe that most maesters aren't interfering and magical families just have poor fertility, possibly related to inbreeding, and Luwin is doing something special to help the Starks have more kids?
People seem to think the corpse bride is a Northern woman or one of the free folk due to her pale skin and blue eyes - of course we have another prominent possibility in the story, a people who also generally have very milky pale skin and blue or purple eyes - maybe she was Valyrian. That would be another parallel to BloodRaven, and it might explain why she was seemingly distrusted and called a sorceress (not due to any particular demonstration of powers, but from a distrust of the "other"). It would also fit with the recurring ice and fire theme in the story much better than him being a Stark and her being a Northener or a Wildling. Valyrians were also rumoured to conduct human sacrifices. The possibility she was a Valyrian makes me wonder about the similarities between what happened during the Doom and what happened at Hardhome.
Barry Hood maybe more than valyrian she was from the etnicity of the empire of the dawn that gave rise to the valyrians they are just descendants of another family like the high tower keep in mind that amethyst means purple
I like the idea that Bloodraven is the father of Craster, and the parallels you presented in the story's told of the Nights King and Bloodraven. If that were the case then I think the Mother of Craster could only be Shiera Seastar whose description closely matches the Night's Queen told by Old Nan of a woman "with skin as white as the moon and eyes like blue stars." If that's the case then the Others are getting children with dragon riding/Greenseer genetics for certain, and I don't see how the Nights Watch could benefit from this.
I'm sorry, I know this is not exactly on topic - but what is that tune you play when you introduce the relationship with the Nights King and his bride. I love it
I only watch these out of loyalty and because i love your theories. But my love for ASOIAF has been thoroughly corrupted thanks to HBO, i’m not sure how much longer i’ll be around. But thank you for all the great listens, i’ve gone to sleep listening to many an old preston tin foil.
@preston jacobs do you think this stark cover up might be the reason they're buried in the crypts (and all that this entails) rather than somewhere more old-godsy?
Hey Preston , just wanted to know. In the about section of your channel, you wrote next videos : Varys plan, stannis's followers. So I was wondering if you still plan to make them. I also heard about a Royce video too. Anyway, just wanted know if those videos were still on the menu
It’s a random thought and a bit off topic but I’m doing a reread of the series and if we are under the assumption that Jons parents are R+L=J and Jojen only knew he was looking for the “winged wolf” not specifically a named person wouldn’t Jon with dragon and wolf blood make more sense? I know it’s not the case just a random thought.
Preston, have you commented yet on how the Wall precedes the Others? That is, if the Night's King was the First Other and the starter of the Long Night, then the Wall preceded the Others and the Long Night. Unless I'm forgetting some details.
How dare you?? That music is reserved for Daemon Targaryen, the rogue prince.
@@saml7400 probably true
"Could she simply be a woman?" I don't care what logic you use Preston. You can't convince me that there isn't actually a race of sexy ice demon waifu's north of the wall.
Fucking RIGHT!
Liz Lee I need a link to this now! It sounds hilarious.
Liz Lee fair enough, I'd never cheat on my boy Preston.
Liz Lee lol just found it though. That is pretty horrific.
"to pull a Craster" shall henceforth be a part of my everyday vocabulary
Where do you live?
Wondering where you were finding uses for that everyday 😂
So you're either from Alabama or Saarland.
It takes thirteen years to "pull a Craster" - Preston Jacobs
I take a certain amount of solace that I'm not the only one who has attempted to wrap his head around the biomechanics of human copulation with a frigid woman.
Ask my wife!
Two things to note:
13 years is the minimum amount of time required to "pull a Craster"
I'm fucking dead
Preston you can't play rogue prince music for sexy time
But the rogue prince had lots of sexy time, some of which with his niece!
Juan Pablo Mina and lot‘s of threesomes with the dwarf fool. FAKE NEWS
You missed his subtle giveaway....the nights queen IS the Rogue Prince!
travdye347 interesting... i do remember that GRRM once wrote an obscure novella about a gender swapping time traveling noble called „the princes bride“
Obvious parallels?
Juan Pablo Mina that's true. So its a general sexy time theme music enh. I hope Preston doesn't have to make a video on Aegon IV
"Soon comes the pale mare, and after her the others..."
I also think that the Starks are not going to look too favorable at the end. Hiding their name means that they were somehow complicit.
Lmaoo “Pulling a craster” .
This is simply GENIUS work. Even if it all turns out wrong; Preston your work on this series and the depth to which you break it down with actual thought is simply amazing! I hope you do write your own book series one day, I’d be one of the first to buy and read it!
One of your best series, thanks for your work.
No Preston no. You cant just use the rogue prince theme all recklessly
but he could. and he would. deal with it or imagine the deeper dorne title instead :D
The night's queen must have been an ice Melisandre
Emilio Camacho Erice that would actually be pretty logical
Hassan H. Yeah I agree with LML on saying they were the ones making the others and I think what the cotf created was nights queen
never thought of it but it makes sense
Rakonax George also has a blue Melisandre figurine
Or she was an ordinary woman and got exxagerated over the centuries into being some sort of supernatural shit.
That would mean only skinchanger babies can become Others. Which means they warg corpses. Cool
Milivoje Popovic that explains the reanimation. Just strong wargs with a puppet army
It also explains the destruction of said army when the Creator is destroyed.
I think it just means that Others have a strong preference for skinchanger babies, as those are the ones that can learn to control (warg) corpses. There are probably some regular others that just serve as powerful footsoldiers.
Wight Wargers.
Playing devil's advocate, the night's king rule may have been only gradually revealed. If he kept the wife secret and gradually brought more of the Watch under her influence. Finally, the Stark and KBTW both agreed that the Watch had been compromised. Man, that would be a sick story.
Damn it! Every time that beat drops I am looking for the "Rogue Prince" lol
Thumbs up for the Rogue Prince-Theme alone
Weird sexual acts: **exist**
No one:
GRRM: "I'm going to write a story about that"
A Game of Thrones:
"It's not fetish material! It serves the story!"
A Feast for Crows:
"Yeah, this is fetish stuff."
Preston's videos are like Lightbringer, they bring the light to this dark and evil world.
I was about to go to sleep, Preston... Just kidding, you can post whenever you like, it's always welcome!
Ser Preston thank you for your asoiaf videos in this time of Westworld craze
Westworld is so fucking shallow compare to this , i mean this is just a small obscure part of the story told by old lady in the first book.
I absolutely love when you bring martin’s other works into play.
Oh Happy Day! I've been waiting with such (im)patience for this video! I can't get quality literary analysis like yours anywhere else! And your theories are always so well-reasoned and well-presented. I'd pay good money just for the latter two!

The way you put everything together and try to approach each thing logically to figure the bigger picture out is why I love your videos.
I'm actually Dutch and I'm not tall or pale. Damn you genetics!
your ancestors must have bred with crannogmen.
I am not tall for Dutch standards but compared to the rest of the world I am far above average.
But now I wonder where Jacobs lives (I want to meet him in person)
One of my Grandfathers was Jewish, but my Dad, Uncles and half brother are all taller than me. #NapoleonComplex

Hey Preston if you're going to make shirts you should do a Shade of the lamp shirt and a Gilbert King ! shirt ,Oh and maybe a Ser Twenty Goodmen shirt .
goon143 yes! I would love to buy preston merch!
I want Shad Summerchild, I want to be queen in the north
Gahhhhhhh!!! How can I wait for part 3?
Even sans the snarky lugubriousness of your NK character, and the bumbling stoner-Knight Tod, you SLAY me. But I HATE WAITING (which makes me your standard ASOIAF fan.). Thank you, Preston.
The intro gets me hyped each and everytime.
Preston, get your merchandising going. You've created such classic characters over the years. Get 'em on t-shirts so I can wear them nerdly on my chest!
4:49 Are you familiar with the webcomic Oglaf, specifically the Snow Queen arc?
Its as if you don't WANT Spring to come"
ha ha I laughed so hard every time the sexy music started. ha ha
The Rogue Prince theme is back !!!
Val is also described as being pale with blue eyes in DwD
Emilio Stark is my new favorite Stark on par with lady Sandra
but Lady Sandra is a Bolton!
Lokidelin I've heard conflicting reports
Great as always! Part 3 please👍😊
was about to sleep then this came on great video now I'm excited for your Winds of Winter readings
Brilliant! As usual I'm right on the edge waiting to see more when he says, " .. and we'll talk about that, next time." Argh .... Haha.... can't wait!
Craster = Halfhand confirmed
Hans Olo thanks preston
Craster = secret Targaeryan confirmed
Craster = Jon Snow, but from the future
Then Gilly is more than 50% Jon Snow. Sam liking her so much = explained.
Nights king = Karl Fooken Tanner, from Gin Alley
When George dies and hasn't finished the books, I hope Preston writes a fanfic to finish them
Outstanding as always Preston!
Preston the art and production of your kids is so awesome
YES these are my favorite type of videos!
I like your videos so much that I don't press skip ad
Finally the part 2! 😃
I barely can wait the part 3
-40° is the same in celius and Fahrenheit
Yes and it is the temperature were petrol turns to sludge so I would be wary about hitting that.
FORd planned it all
woohoo! -- whoa - great catch on Craster & the Night's King.
Went to the fridge and got a beer before watching this.
I eventually did regret my decision to crack open a cold one before watching this video.
Blue eyes isn't an albino trait. I like the idea that she's some sort of ice sorceress similar to Melisande as a fire sorceress. Considering the Night's Queen is colder than normal, but warm enough for copulation, like Mel is warm, but not too warm to touch.

I don't think they were inbred.
What do you mean when you say "contemporary" in this context?
The Night's Queen story sounds like an homage to 'The Frost-Giant's Daughter' Conan story.
Preston great video! I am so glad you brought up House Blackwood because I would have asked you if the Nights King was one. That would account for them being exiled to the South but still being so loyal to the Starks. In addition, it might also tie back to Daenerys who is also half-Blackwood.

FFS FINALLY PRESTON!!! Thanks dude 😊
Edit: you used the Rogue Prince theme song. I can die happy.
Wasn't a follower but I am subscring, great TOPIC and research. Thank you and give us more.
4:30 How would they copulate? By doing it to The Rogue Prince theme. :D
PJ IS BACK!!!
I can't help but think the Starks had the name erased from history because they wanted to protect their own name (reputation) and not have and black mark or shame associated with them
Great stuff. Keep it up. This made me think of an correlation with the show. So the WWs were looking for telepathic babies. I want George to write an Emilio Stark in the story now.
piggy201 I want George to write The Winds of Winter
murO Lol. 😂
Cant wait for part 3. im hooked
Are we finally going to discuss how special House Blackwood, especially women, are?
Why were they forced to leave the North and given succour in the Riverlands, are we given any answers to this?
So if all the Stark children are wargs then that means that catelyn must have the recessive gene for skin changing as well, right? Could this be why littlefinger is interested in catelyn then sansa?
"if she was an other why be poetic and amgigious and only insinuate it." Oh Im sorry Mr.Preston are we reading the same series the books or what ?!
What do you mean by this?
I have a simple answer for the question at the end of your video: George wants to make a parallel to real life, where one and the same practice a few hundred/thousand years apart are one time viewed as completely intolerable, but later are even viewed as the most intelligent thing possible in that situation.
Hbo should credit you for keeping me interested in the story while they take their fifteen year break between seasons.
Wouldn't an albino woman have "red" eyes instead of blue ones? You know, because of the missing pigments?
In the real world albinos tend to have both red and blue. That said, GRRM tends to write them with red eyes. So, she might just be pale.
Preston Jacobs she could have been an icy version of Melisandre George has a blue Melisandre figurine
Barry Hood maybe more than valyrian she was from the etnicity of the empire of the dawn that gave rise to the valyrians they are just descendants of another family like the high tower keep in mind that amethyst means purple
Don't ignore the Qartheen. There's some weird shit going on with those milky, arabesque people.
one does not simply go to bed when sir talldutch palejack uploads a new vid
stop procrasterinating and write the fucking book, preston!
11:07 Trivial, but the map shown includes an error ("Lost Heath" is supposed to be "Last Hearth", the Umber castle rather than a region in the north)
Good stuff, one of your best imo.
Oh snap, return of the Rogue Prince riff, hell yeah lol
Thank you, Big Pappa!
I'm sorry, I know this is not exactly on topic - but what is that tune you play when you introduce the relationship with the Nights King and his bride. I love it
Great use of the Rogue Prince theme. I come in peace
I only watch these out of loyalty and because i love your theories. But my love for ASOIAF has been thoroughly corrupted thanks to HBO, i’m not sure how much longer i’ll be around. But thank you for all the great listens, i’ve gone to sleep listening to many an old preston tin foil.
I already at peace too with twow wont happen
"Her skin was as cold as ice" kind of sounds alluding to magical shenanigans
Love these videos!
@preston jacobs do you think this stark cover up might be the reason they're buried in the crypts (and all that this entails) rather than somewhere more old-godsy?
Thank the gods!!! An ice and fire post!!!
It's good to have some Preston Jacobs to look forward to again onwards to three!
*waits
thanks PJ
Wow Preston.. that part.. you know.. great job :D
I can’t believe I just watched a video talking about the night’s king’s “frozen longsword”
Do you think that Bronn is the Young Tarbeck baby that escaped when young Tywin destroyed his castle? Or do you have any theory's on who Bronn is?
That other drawing is legitimately terrifying :O
BACK!!!
10:08 Lord Frank of House Martinez from Rich Port Island represented !!! :D
Hey Preston , just wanted to know. In the about section of your channel, you wrote next videos : Varys plan, stannis's followers. So I was wondering if you still plan to make them. I also heard about a Royce video too. Anyway, just wanted know if those videos were still on the menu
Uploaded 10 minutes ago??? I clicked UA-cam at the right time
Preston, you're a genius. A little crazy but a genius.
4:19 I'd argue ice breakers _are_ flirty banter
