I managed to get a 10.16.16 Pro 14 just over a month ago. I'm a DJ using Serato as my DJ software, and Lightroom, Photoshop, Final cut and Logic for anything creative. I've upgraded from the Late 2012 Retina 13, so a massive difference in performance was noticed straight away, and I am impressed how I can run Serato, which is a very resource heavy software during the best of times, and run logic smoothly. I agree about the fan, I had to render a bunch of videos, and I was shocked to actually hear the fans LOL, but that is the only time they have kicked in. Overall, I love this MacBook, and I certainly do not have buyers regret by spending that bit more to get this version, rather than the 8 core version.
I have the same machine and yes it's perfectly fine. As the owner of a Surface Pro 7, I noticed though that the Surface Pro's wifi range is better than the Macbook Pro's

Hello. I’m planning to get a MacBook and I’m not sure which one should I choose. I have two choices M2 air with 16GB RAM 512GB SSD or base model 14 inch MacBook Pro M1 Pro. Also, is it worth it to get more CPU cores in 14 inch one? I’m planning to become a DevOps Engineer and I’d also do Blockchain development. Also, I’m from India and the temperature rises a lot in summer.
Hey Suyash. You should go with the 14” MacBook Pro all the way. I have both of them and the performance and everything about the 14” is just way smoother. You don’t need to upgrade the cores. If you have the extra cash, sure go for it. But imo you won’t need them😁
How do you feel about the weight of these machines? I’m comparing the m2 MacBook Air and this one and am undecided on the overall differences between the two.
I think that the mag safe makes sense because it can push through more power than the usb-c/thunderbolt ports hence the larger fast charge brick. you can charge the MacBook using the usb-c ports and that works just fine but it's slower. so if it didn't have magsafe yes it would have a port that could be used for more I/o but it would not have the faster charging capability or the safety feature of like your charger getting pulled on but your computer not flying off your desk.
@@JorgePowell Agree. I don't see any use for the Magsafe, but I like the idea of having one charger and a USB C cable for almost everything (Grr. I hate that Apple is saying with Lighting on phones until next year.)
I bought the base model last week. Been mulling over whether I should get the m2 air or this one. Ended up getting this, and I am absolutely satisfied with it.
I did the same thing after having an M1 air. The Air is nice and light, but for my work, it just did not cut it. Neither would an M2 Air, unless I loaded it up with additional RAM and storage. And by then the price of M2 Air was $200+ more than the typically available price ($1599 on Amazon) of the base MacBook Pro with the same 512 GB storage and 16 GB RAM.

new M1 MacBook Pros - "16" and 14" tonight. The body is squared off and thicker than my 2019 MBP. WHAT??? And it feels cheap, not like the former Airplane Grade aluminum. You knock on it and it feels hollow-ish. And the bottom feet are harder than previous models, almost like a cell phone case that is hard plastic and sort of hits the desk too hard. I am pretty disappointed. Why, Apple, Why?
Love yout setup; nice work on your video and your editing skills are so nice, hope to learn from you. Sub from México; BTW, wich monitor do you have? looks pretty awesome.
I'm curious, in all this time, no dents on screen? no dead pixels? I've got some on mine and sent it for screen replacement. Unfortunately I found that is a frequent issue. :(
What I appreciate in this video is that you actually use the keyboard and the trackpad included on the MacBook when using your external display. Like the keyboard/trackpad are awesome on this machine. I would never try using a different keyboard and mouse with this setup.
Exactly… only way I would use a different keyboard/mouse would be if I had it docked in my living room on the big screen tv being laid up on the couch…
I’ve had it for a little over a week now and I don’t even notice the notch. Honestly it shouldn’t bother you because the screen has a higher aspect ratio than normal so the top can just black out when you are full screen in an app.
You can get an usbc to hdmi 2.1 on amazon and it will work in 4k 120. I do it to an Alienware 55 inch 4k 120. Works like a charm and allows dyanmic, but i just stay at 120.

A bit confused with the line "I would recommend upgrading to the 10-core version, however, for the reasons mentioned at the start of the video". At the start of the video, the reasons given were "2 extra cores" and "fast charging", but the fast charger can be purchased separately regardless, and you even said it didn't matter as much as you didn't need to charge very often. So... why do you recommend going for the 10 core over the base 8 core?
Hey, thanks for the question. I think the 10-core version represents the best value out of the available options, two extra performance cores and double the internal storage gives you a higher ceiling for particularly intensive workflows and even though the battery life is very good, you will inevitably have to charge this laptop eventually, so I think the fast charging brick should be included in every box, personally.
I’m torn between the m2 air and the m1 14” or waiting for the m2 14” that could happen in October. I currently have a M1 Max 14” ordered for delivery in 2 more weeks but now after your video that may be too much and with a new possibility in a month is it going to be dated so soon?

(My vision is poor, so I can’t read fine print easily). Is this 14” MacBook Pro the right gadget for me? I don’t want to cheat my headphones, but the most I would be able to spend is $2,000. I did just buy the $2,000 14” MacBook Pro, so I have 1 1/2 weeks to return or exchange it. 👀 also, I’ve been unable to use its USB C ports for external DACS, (streaming Tidal). How would I fix this? (I’m wondering if streaming lossless audio from Apple Music, rather than Tidal, would solve the problem (?) Thanks!

Mbp 14” is better than M2 even with the cheapest configuration. Even though the 14” is more expensive when you add 16gb of ram and bump the storage of the 13” m2 mpb it will be only like 300 away from the 14”. All in all, the 14” is a better option in terms of screen, speakers, performance, memory bandwidth, storage speeds, gpu, PORTS, etc. I have a 14” and recommend it.

You’re not wrong, it’s definitely time for USB-C adoption - that’s just the current state of monitors though unfortunately. The frustration comes from the fact that Apple won’t allow HDMI 2.1 speeds over any other port either, so if you do happen to have a TV/Monitor capable of 4K120 via HDMI, there’s no workarounds that would allow you to utilise this.

(I’m wondering if streaming lossless audio from Apple Music, rather than Tidal, would solve the problem (?)
Thanks!
Do you have the 144Hz variant of LG display?
Wallpaper?
will 16 gb ram be enough for 4-5 years for normal usage without video editing or rendering at all.
definitely get a different monitor... I have a TUF monitor with hdmi 2.1 and a DisplayPort... use the hdmi 2.1 for my ps5, and then I use the usbc port to DisplayPort of my MacBook Pro for 4k 120
how can I get your wallpaper?
Here! www.gumroad.com/alexcasabo ;)
I love my 2019 16inch Macbook. Just a better design. So nice and thin. Wish there was a sd card slot and it wouldn't run so hot. I don't want to get the new chunky 16 inch and the 14 is too small...
How much RAM does your MBP have? Kinda curious since I'm looking to get one. Thank you.
Probably the standard 16gb since he didn’t mention anything about it… if it was me I’d definitely go 32gb with the 10/16 version, just because I’m not a “constant upgrader” type, I NEED it to last “forever” dropping 1500$+ on a laptop, and THIS IS THE MacBook Pro to buy for the long haul!
Where can I find that wallpaper?
I need a macbook I'm stuck between m2 air and m1 pro, I need just for regular computing ,chrome, mail, Web, etc which one to get??
I just posted a video comparing these two laptops - hope it helps!
hi, how can the wallpaper in your mac be found, I really liked it
Link is in the description 👍🏼
Great video! After more than a year use, how are you finding the scratches and finger prints on the space grey? I like the space grey but heard so many people talking about scratches, fingerprints and colour fading. anyone have any opinions?
Wondering about the colour fading problem too
I might get silver bc of this.
Can I have a link to the background on the MacBook in the video? Thanks

Does PREMIERE Pro n aftereffects work smoothly on this
hie, im planning to use virtual machine on my macbook ( win 11), no other heavy work load. is it advisable to go for the m1 pro 14 mac pro over the m2 MacBook air 16gb / 512gb?
I just posted a video comparing these two machines, hope it helps!
how much ram do you have in your macbook?
I am using a 2019 mbp 16 with a high refresh rate display, and it works through a thunderbolt-display port cable. I don't see why it would not work on the newer mbp
Because I was talking about HDMI output specifically - displayport isn’t the issue
Which one best?
13" MacBook Pro M2 or 14" MacBook Pro M1?
13" MBP M2 with 16gb RAM, 512gb ssd and 14" MBP base model.
I'm an Interior Designer. I'll use SketchUp, vray, Blender, UE5, C4D, Photoshop softwares.
So which one to buy? Please suggest me.
@@rubeng0246 thanks a lot... Then I'll buy 14" M1 MacBook Pro.😀👍🏻
@@Sachin_Banasode check for the 14” in best buy daily… I’ve seen it drop to 1750 which makes it a better deal! Since back to school dates are approaching I assume they will lover the prices in the upcoming weeks! Congrats in advance!
Also, Prime day is coming so maybe theyll lower it on amazon!
@@rubeng0246 Sir, I'm from India. And thanks for your suggestion.😀👍🏻
@@rubeng0246 Don't mind one more question... Almost i use crack software like SketchUp + vray, AutoCAD and lumion.
So crack software will work on Mac OS?
It’s very annoying that you can’t do 120hz on external
nice wallpaper, where can find this wallpaper?thanks
Link is in the description 🤙🏼
What desk chair do you have?
I made a whole video about my setup - you can find it there!
great vidéo bro, you speak a little bit fast for a french but yeah, thats good ahah
How much GB memory you have?
how does the screen size on the 14 compare to the 'old' 15 inch MBpros?
But I thought people love USBc as the unified standard? Why suddenly HDMI is good? Maybe time to ditch all the HDMI monitors and make them USBc?
😁
You’re not wrong, it’s definitely time for USB-C adoption - that’s just the current state of monitors though unfortunately.
The frustration comes from the fact that Apple won’t allow HDMI 2.1 speeds over any other port either, so if you do happen to have a TV/Monitor capable of 4K120 via HDMI, there’s no workarounds that would allow you to utilise this.
Where did you get your wallpaper
Link in description ✌🏼
@@JorgePowell thanks
watching this on a base 14" MBP
Where are those hooks for your bags from?
Why u didint went with silver?
Does anyone know how loud it can get (in a classroom environment) considering it has fans whereas the M2 air doesn't
Unless you’re working on very large projects you’ll probably never hear the fans, it’s a very efficient machine.
