@@ferarre6095 that’s awesome Thank you
I have to change my lower radiator hose today
@@daltonkleman7626 that one is no too difficult if I remember correctly
Hi! I'm trying to figure out my 2012 Ford focus. The radiator fluid keeps boiling over. No coolant in the oil. Spark plugs are clean as well, I'm thinking of replacing the thermostat just to ensure that's not an issue. Doesn't overheat at all. Replaced the coolant temperature sensor as well. This is a great video to help me get that hose replacement done 💪 just subscribed to your channel
I would definitely replace the thermostat especially if it’s the original one. Appreciate you watching.
So i have a 08 ford fusion se 6cylinder i had a mechanic break my line from the coolant to the radiator. Ive heard ppl say something about jb well. Idk nothing about so should i just get a brand new radiator or is there simpler fix for that
If the radiator was damaged I would get another one, if it was me. I’ve tried to repair them in the past with no luck.
Thank you for watching.
Thank you
Thank You for watching
Thanks
Thanks for watching.
Great video, my son has a 2012 Ford Focus and we will be replacing both hoses, thx from Tx
Thank you. Appreciate you watching.
I am having trouble getting the elbow connection to seal up and not leak. OEM hose was leaking, replaced with a Gates (only option that day) Gates connection also leaks. I inspected the tube on the radiator and don't see any cracks, I ordered a Motorcraft hose and am going to try that next. Any advice or things to look at is greatly appreciated.
It that hose was leaking my guess is something is wrong with that hose.
If it’s going to leak at all it would be at the end of the hose if the clamps aren’t tight enough. It’s hard to say without actually seeing it. Sorry hope that helps some.
Appreciate you watching
Thank you for this video. My ford focus 2012 had a hose bust under the break , clutch and accelerator paddle couple of months ago, i took it to a mechanic, he fix the hose, but since then if i drive the car in a bit harsh way or go for a bit long journey , the coolant stats boiling, and disappears while im driving or when i stop, and the fan starts at a very high speed and j can see that coolant is going down However there is no leak and head gasket is also fine. And if i make small trips then there is no problem at all.
What would you recommend for me to do ?
Thanks a lot
I’m going to be honest, I have no idea, if it’s not leaking and the head gasket is good I don’t know where the fluid can be going
Do you have a part number for the elbow connector? I’ve been looking all over for it and can’t find anything online about it this is the only thing I have seen
No I dont. Im pretty sure you have to buy the complete hose assembly. I dont think you can get just the elbow connector. Ive never seen one.
When installing the plastic end of the hose, does it line up with the mark on the radiator inlet?
It doesnt matter as long as the hose is seated properly all the way, it moves and rotates a little.
Do you have a part number to the radiator hose connector for the upper
Are you talking about the clip or the actual radiator hose??
I heard a slight hissing noise after pulling in my driveway today and poped the hood. There was a leaky hissing kind of sound coming from in-between the motor and the battery where all those hoses are, along with a little steam. It stopped about a minute or so after turning off the engine. Turned it back on to see if the gage was leaning hot and it was about 3/4 the way to the right, not in the red though. Turned it off immediately. Also a bit of what I believe to be coolant leaked into the driveway. 2010 focus otherwise in great running shape. Any thoughts?
It could be several things. Upper radiator hose, heater hose, water distribution pipe see link. www.partsgeek.com/gbproducts/WC/28812-01298608.html?YN&PartsGeek+Google+Base&+Ford+Focus+Water+Distribution+Pipe+Genuine+W0133-2335873+08-11+Ford+Water+Distribution+Pipe+2009+2010&fp=pp&gbm=a&PartsGeek+Google+Basecid=6774379819&aid=79287199093&keyword=829684093849%3A%3Apla-829684093849&kid=829684093849&gclid=CjwKCAjwybyJBhBwEiwAvz4G74Gd40efxKVdfIeSw6u_T4RcHfbUgKgoujTDo3pi5uZ2_pyE1siCPhoCr0sQAvD_BwE
@@SouthernBlessedHomestead Thanks for the response sir. When I get to the bottom of it I'll come post it here.
@@SweetandSourohmy that would be great I’d like to know what it is. Sounds like a hose the way you described it, should be easy to find. Run engine and look for the leak.
I had the same problem this morning. Gage was 3/4 the way also. Except it appears my leak is on the other end of the hose where he used the pliers to get the clamp off. I can't tell if it's just loose and needs a new clamp or a new hose.
i suspect , for installation, you can put the spring clip on the hose first ...then push the hose on until the spring snaps into position....will let you know next week
I’m not 100% sure but I don’t think it will because the spring snaps into place in a groove. If you try it I’d like to know how it turns out.
@@SouthernBlessedHomestead will let you know, i think on other cars there is a ramp /cone for the spring for the install direction, it then falls into the"square" groove of course not possible for the removal direction.
@@unionse7en oh ok cool I’ll be waiting for your reply when you try it. Thank You
@@SouthernBlessedHomestead , OK ,confirmed, just put the clip on the hose first. Then simply push the hose on the top rad fitting, The clip will snap into the groove on it's own.Maybe do an update in the text description, will save people some hassle.
@@unionse7en thank you for the info I appreciate it.
just did this all went well but got back in the car and went around the block just as i was pulling in the temp light came on. any suggestions as to why that would happen. do i need to drain the radiator or could their be an air bubble in there stopping my coolant from getting all the way down
Sounds like it could be air in the system. Crank it up let it warm up and squeeze the radiator hose a few times it should works it’s way out. Thank you for watching
@@SouthernBlessedHomestead thank you sir
@@xxtegridyfarms1849 you are welcome I’m glad the video helped you.
Just found a crack on the plastic elbow at the end of the hose while doing an oil change. Was dripping coolant. Rockauto had a Continental brand hose for $25 CAD, so prolly less than $20 for you guys in the States. FYI.
I like Rockauto I’ve ordered from them several times. Thanks for information and for watching.
I just ordered a new radiator because of that cracked elbow, do you by any chance know if a new radiator comes with that elbow?
@@postit4273 I wouldn't think so. It's part of the hose. I've seen the elbows for sale by themselves, but you might as well get the hose and not screw around.
@@pfsantos007 yeah literally just went and got the hose with the elbow built in and got it in but thanks man
Mine is leaking at the opposite end of the hose where you used the pliers to take the clamp off. My car was overheating and you can smell the coolant. Seems like your instructions would help. Any advice??
Maybe the clamp is loose? Try tightening it. Are you sure it’s leaking from the hose and not the water outlet housing it’s attached too?
@@SouthernBlessedHomestead thank you, I'll be sure to check the water outlet housing to make sure
i have an 08 focus and have noticed a leak but couldn’t find from where , dad was helping me yesterday using your video we were able to replace the hose! honestly not sure if it was the culprit. no visual signs of anything on the hose to indicate a leak , anyway you could tell?
Thank you for watching. After you replaced the hose did you notice anymore leaking? Could be several things causing the leak. As you ae standing in front of the car looking at the engine, if the leak is coming from the right side it could be the thermostat housing, engine coolant water outlet housing or heater hoses. If the leak is coming from the left side it could be the water pump or left radiator hose.
Should be easy to visually check with a bright flashlight. You can google these items and see the engine location so you will know exactly where to look and what the part looks like. I hope this helps, let me know what you find out.
@@SouthernBlessedHomestead we took out the air filter housing and saw it leaking from the upper hose where it connects, we replaced it and have been keeping an eye on it so far so good just not sure what else it would be if it wasn’t the hose
@@beautylizzie97 Well is sounds like the hose from what you said, if it still leaks it could be the radiator. I think you fixed the problem if you've been running the engine and haven't seen any leaks you should be good to go.
when you put the radiator side back on, the upper hose will it not slide in place with the metal ring on will it not push it out till in place ?
or do you have to pull it out of the new one and then put it back on....
@@vcolet2011you can use the new ring or the old one, I prefer to use the new one. The hose will not slide onto the radiator if the ring is on it. Remove ring from hose side hose onto radiator then snap the ring in place.
@@SouthernBlessedHomestead ok thanks your awesome
@@vcolet2011 hope it helps you. Thanks for watching.
This just happened to me today. The hose basically broke at the elbow so I need to replace it. Would be easier if I could just by the elbow 😫
That don’t make it easy or cheap anymore like the good old days. Lol
Thanks for watching
I just replaced the radiator on mine and I burped it and everything and now itll run and hold temp find but shake a little but when I push the gas it pops that hose off and blows my fluid. Do you know what I did wrong?
I’m no expert but it sounds like the thermostat might be stuck closed causing back pressure. That’s what I would check if it was me.
@@SouthernBlessedHomestead Yeah me either I'm just broke and struggleing thank you for getting back with me I'll check it. I also noticed I'm missing that metal ring/clip for the radiator hose you replaced
@@auspicioustoot well that’s why the hose is blowing off. The metal ring is a clip that locks the hose into place.
@@SouthernBlessedHomestead whats weird tho is when I first done it it held for like a week lol
@@auspicioustoot I would still check that thermostat. Hope you get it fixed.
Tie the hose rub guard with string or Panduits.
Good idea
What's the name of the elbow part
Upper Radiator hose. I dont think you can get just the elbow, it comes as one assembly
Thanks alot for making that video. These bean coutners & engineers baffle me.....who makes a a hose with plastic components and figures lets run piping hot water through it and then ask it to work in freezing temperatures also. Whatever happened to rubber hose & worm gear clamps. Easy peasy. Not $50, $60 for a goofy hose design.
Totally agree. Thanks for watching
Thing is cracked and broke off so I gotta replace the plastic thing
You got this 👍🏻
@@SouthernBlessedHomestead got it fixed thankfully it was very easy
@@AzamatSlowedAndReverb that’s awesome glad you got it fixed.
Patti is so lazy she should be doing this at least chicken man does work around here 😂
😂
She could have at least held the camera for you geez 🙄 😂
@@Mrwillie95 that would have helped a lot lol
I know she is so lazy
Worst hose design ever! I put a new one on and it still leaks. Looking for a video to see if I can put a regular hose on the neck of the radiator with it being so small 🤦
Did you get a defective hose?
Horrible engineering design. What ever happened to just hose end connections? My guess is Mack made a video that most Ford Focus owners have experienced.
Thank you appreciate you watching
I don't understand how you can say that this is an easy deal where you already started from the back the front but the back is where you need to go to you have to take off the 1st thing in the front then the 2nd thing on the side that you have to take off the holes that you have to take out a whole cover thing you're not even getting to the back yet so how can you say that this is an easy fix. Your kidding right
wow that was totally confusing. LOL
This actually was easy. I got the part from Autozone at 6:50. Back home at 7:10. Done at 8:00.
