I don't know whether to thank you or curse you for producing this extremely helpful, detailed video. Because of this video I managed to get the job done myself at the cost of a few new tools, an aching back, several weeks of time, and an overflowing swear jar. Due to weather and my schedule, I've only been able to work on it intermittently. Without this video I'd have had to get it towed to a mechanic and paid a considerable sum to get the work done promptly. Thankfully the car I was working on is a spare, so it didn't need to be done quickly.
I commend you for your calm and patient demeanor. I don't know how you got through this without swearing once. I was questioning the parentage of and cursing the engineers responsible for this design every step of the way.

Thank you so much for this detailed video!!!! This was the only resource I could find for the repair, my manual had nothing. To anyone else doing this who wants to replace the rubber sections: for the hose coming off of the thermostat, you might have to move the lower radiator hose clamp away from the thermostat to get the 2nd clamp on and off (unfortunately one of the prongs on mine broke off right when i moved it enough to be out of the way😂). I ended up doing surgery on my old one with a razor and some hook tools, and I also had to cut off the old one on the tee

Hi there, I used your video to repair my 2008 Ford Focus. I had to replace the thermostat. I broke the plastic heater hose. I needed to by the metal hose. I had to take everything out and the transmission stick as you did. It was a good amount to things to take out. It took me about three weeks to do this job as I work a lot. I finally fixed everything. I put everything back together. I now see that I have a leek at the engine block just above the upper right radiator hose. Thank you so much!

For anyone doing this. It is easier to get the part on the heater core and thermostat by removing the fan and shroud or unbolt it and move it out of the way easier to get out from the bottom, only two bolts and electrical cable. Remove battery, air box and upper radiator hose, and just like the video you may need to remove the transmission bolt, only the upper one to get a little bit of wiggle room. Then proceed to remove the PCM wire connectors. Hope this helps someone. Also, thank you for the video helped me out.

All those rubber tubes in general are quite dilated. Eventually you're going to have problems with almost everyone that requires some pression.
Rigid plastic tubes directly crystallize and break without warning, as has happened to you.
The good thing is that by looking at the reference you can find high temperature resistant rubber fuel hoses that can be a good replacement for those tubes.

I found removing the lower radiator hose from the Radiator and removing the fan was much easier than disconnecting most of the cables and parts done in this video. Once the fan is removed, there was much more room to maneuver the new rigid aluminum hose. If proper tools are used, the lower radiator hose may not need to be loosened or removed as long as the screw holding the fan can be removed.
