    Get a sonic tour of the Fender Super-Sonic 22 guitar amplifier. Sweetwater's Mitch Gallagher plays through a John Mayer Stratocaster, giving you a great idea of what this amp can do on both the Vintage and Burn Channels.

    Great demo; really shows how the controls work and the different sounds available. Great sounding amp too!

    This is the amp I use. Pro Jr for recording, but this amp for live. Big venues mic it anyway. No reason to break your back or bank on a big huge over the top amp. Take the 22, get the tubes cooking, and mic it. It really is a great amp.

    Sounds great with single coils, but I wish he would have demoed the amp with a few different guitars as he usually does. I would like to hear how it sounds with humbuckers.

    I use archtop guitars, for rock, blues, and country, and would like to hear you use one with that amp. Thanks !

    Definitely sounds like the amp I would pick to replace my Blues Junior (also bought from Sweetwater)...and with the cost of the BillM mod's for my current amp that would pretty much equal the price of the Supersonic 22. I like all of the sounds Mitch came up with...small nit - I'd be interested in hearing what Power and Output transformers Fender used for Supersonic 22...anyone know? Mercury Magnetics transformers are probably too much for this price range.

    Excellent excellent review. Went over all the sounds well. Only review I've seen that did so well. Kept it fairly neutral too, not too treble-y, which you find alot of in reviews

    i think a big mistake on a lot of the demos of fender amps is not using other guitars besides Fender's. would be nice to hear some humbucking guitars on fender amp demos. we all know what a fender amp combined with a strat sounds like.

    Two Questions: I think it is the best amp for clean tones with a lot of head room. But, I have seen some negative reviews for a loud popping sound when switching channels, and a loud tube hissing when not being played. (1) What do you thinking of these problems? (2) Do you like the stock Fender Lighting bolt Eminence speakers? Some people the Cannabis Rex speakers, or the Jensen C-12K would be great.

      Buy the SS-22 head version and get a Mesa Boogie 1x12 closed back birch cabinet with 90 watt Celestion if you want to play rock. Jensen for jazz. Cannabis for Princeton.

    This Super-Sonic 22 vs a Reissue Deluxe Reverb, which is the better amplifier to play through both are either the same wattage or very very close and are the same physical dimensions, but has the gain circuitry in it WITH Reverb plus full Bass, Middle and Treble control and the other has the Reverb and only Bass and Treble control. Which should I go with??.

      If you can get a good deal for a used SS22 it'd be great. DRRI is the better sounding clean amp. I think that SS sounds a bit better with pedals and of course you have a dedicated dirt channel. Depends on what you want

    ... and mukkezz... yes ! the amp would sound absolutely different if Mitch would play mixolydian b13 ... too bad you cannot write too bad right ;)

    @Stratthead is isn't really used for metal by the masses, it sort of everything up to metal. It was a pretty decent review, granted there could be a little more to it, but it wasn't terrible

    To all the Fender ss 22 owners... Add the marshall 2x12, jvm, open back, heritage and vintage speaker to this amp and you'll be amazed!!!! One amp, 3 different speakers, best sound ever.

    don't forget to turn your effects loop volumes to zero so you can pump the master. :o) Works essentially like an attenuator.

    Does it drive anyone else crazy that these dudes just straight solo it all the time? I'd ten times rather hear more common chord progressions and here how those sound then this dude trying to riff it up for 7 mins.

    • @yellowood252
      @yellowood252 7 років тому +3

      Michael Fralick I mean no... that's what I'd be doing. I know everyone has their reasons, but I bought a strat to jam out, not play beginner chords all day. Just my side though, know not everyone agrees

    • @Mfralick3ify
      @Mfralick3ify 7 років тому +2

      yeah I get you but i'm talking about the amp... maybe it's just my ears, but every amp "demo" sounds so similar when they're noodling around and I feel like I can get a better idea on the tonality of the amp if they're more ringed out chords.

    • @PatricioLeija
      @PatricioLeija 6 років тому

      I know what you mean. If I like the sound of simple chords on a guitar or amp that means the sound is going to rock on the solos.

    • @Allanthia
      @Allanthia 6 років тому +2

      Yellowood252 Well if you're in a band odds are you're not soloing for 5 minutes straight in a song. So it's kinda nice to hear both sides.

    • @LeviBulger
      @LeviBulger 4 роки тому

      I agree, always a lot of pentatonic blues wanking. A few lead lines are nice, but chords really show you with how the amp really sounds in a full frequency context.
