I mentioned that the waste gate closes to stop over boosting, it actually opens! easy mistake hahaha. I hope you guys enjoyed the video, and if you did please consider liking and subscribing. Cheers, Finndawg.
Hi mate you should run your waste gate line to your manifold for more accurate reading. Then your turbo line goes to your diesel pump. You will get less lag. Cheapest mod for these engines. I believe there is a video on UA-cam showing this too.
@cozh53 yeah I used to run the hose swap mod, I'm actually working on a video comparing the stock set-up to the hose swap mod, there's surprising afew trade off's between the two. Stay tuned it will be one of the next 2-3videos I'm working on.
After spending many years working on/around petrol engines, I've recently picked up my first diesel. Found a pretty darn tidy example of a stock '01 Bounty 4x4 and have really caught the diesel bug. This video series is great. Keep it up! Cheers 🤙
Yeah that's the go, when you find a clean stock one that's always what I go for, I hate getting something other people have played with. Cheers for watching!
@mr.eervianlesmana9263 a regrind just surfaces the cam lobes, it won't do anything to get additional performance unless the surface is already scuffed but at best you'll back to near stock performance, not increased.
Great vid mate, I’m fairly new to the diesel tuning scene and just did the boost line swap on my 03 courier (so running the line to that goes from the intake manifold to the compensator I think it’s called and plumbing it directly into the turbo) but will definitely look into doing some of these cheers 👍🏻
Cheers for watching! Yeah I used to have the hose swap but really didn't feel like it did a whole lot so I just went back to the stock configuration because it looks a whole lot cleaner.
@@Finndawg yeah right, that’s odd made heaps of difference for me. Way quicker at lower speeds, turbo spools quicker and I’ve gained 3 lb boost. Possibly cause I haven’t done much to.
@@ewanfitzpatrick5466 it did make a noticeable difference with the stock turbo but this one is almost instant pressure so the pressure gets to the intake plenum pretty well instantly.
@@virgosavageyt6088 shouldn't change the fuel at full boost homie, all the hose swap does is reduce the amount of lag between the turbo and the fuel compensator, shouldn't effect fuel availability. But I'm no expert i could be mistaken.

Hey mate, thanks for watching :) The pillar gauge mounts are from 4x4concepts for the PK/PJ ranger and the air intake plenum is made by a fella called Gareth Brunt.
Sorry for the late reply I am just going through and finding everything I haven't seen/responded too and replying. Hahaha funnily enough I rock saas gauges, they're the digital muscle series so they're not low end saas gauges, combined they cost about $350 so similar to a multi-gauge by redarc or similar, I have never had accuracy problems with them, if you get low end cheap stuff just expect inaccuracy. But generally speaking you get what you pay for.
Sorry for the mega late reply only just figured out how to see all the comments I haven't replied too. They're saas digital muscle series, higher end saas stuff not some of they're cheaper nasty ones
How much power are you making i have a 2005 wl 2.5turbo diesel its slow & old i want to mod it so that it makes double the 3.2 rangers on the market ,also the 5speed i have makes it heavy on fuel i want to 8hp45.or 70 swap it an thoughts if all that would work or possible ?
you won't get that sort of power out of a wlt unless you massively modify it, and figure out a better gearbox solution sorry. They just can't handle that sort of power.
This isn't my missus asking is it? If so got it all on special for $20. Hahaha, though in all seriousness do you just mean the parts in the video or all my mods?

@@Finndawg is there any a performance Camshaft for this wlt engine?
@mr.eervianlesmana9263 not to my knowledge but you could always get something custom machined, but I don't imagine that would be cheap.
@@Finndawg what about Camshaft Regrind? Is that good?
