Hi mate. You are 100% spot on with most of your info. Only tje silicone intake don't work. It sucks close and can't breathe. Use steel and some silicone where the joints are. I am running 1.4 bar boost, 76mm exhaust, max egt of 720 on uphill, big cooler, moved the pump timing up a bit or actually the lift on the pump is at 1.6mm if you check it with a dial guage. Ute runs very well. Only problem is gearboxes. They are shit. Can't handle the torque. Been looking for Mazda RX7 box, but that is a no no in South Africa. Enjoy your ute. Those 2.5 engines can take alot of abuse.
Hi mate. Someting that I also noticed. You are sucking in hot air from the engine bay. Try and make yourslf a devise that picks up cold air from the outside of the engine bay. You need to get as much cold air to the turbo intake as possibls. Trust me. It makes a diferense in power right through the rpm range. It could even lower egt a bit.
Need a steel pipe my bro and a new filter. Your turbo is wanting more air than the filter can provide and is sucking your silicon pipe closed. Grab some more if that rodeo roll bar, seems to do the trick.
Hey bro, really appreciate what you're doing for the wlt community man. Hard to find some good video help with this shit so ups to you. Just wondering, was it difficult to mount the evo intercooler considering its over twice the size of the stock one? haha, got any tips?
Just wandering, did you cut off the steel bumper brackets that stick out the front and will it pass wof just cut off? Looks like they are the chassis rails? Thanks in advance
U shud run a mamba gt2554 on that thing might help with efficiency and bring boost up they sell them in a kit fir a rd28 patrol but if u can get the oil lines jigged up it wud go miint
Hey bro your videos choice man got heaps tips off ya got 02 4wd flatdeck her name Donna she just shat the head from good Bush thrash...do you have video of head an timing belt replacement?start finish bro?I never done one but sure highly capable too haha cher bro
The standard IHI RH5 can boost up to 1.8 bar. The promlem is that the head gasket cannot handle the high boost. You have to make use of a metal head gasket. I am trying to find one myself. At 1.8 bar with correct fueling and safe EGT these engines perform fantastic. You can add about another 15kw by having the ports done by someone that has a proper flow bench. Also have the intake and exhaust ports matched and polished.
@@jacokoen8859 thank you for the info man, just got myself a 2006 ford courier with 187000km..or as they call it the ford ranger in malaysia, not really sure why they didn't just call it the courier as it is the same with just updated body styling and interior...it's bone stock right now but will be planning on upgrading the intercooler and adding 2" straight pipe exhaust from the turbo to the back and then upping the fuel which i hope will also increase the boost a bit..
@@ifwatwawat942 .Hi there. In South Africa it is also called Ford ranger. I would suggest you start with 76mm exhaust from where it bolts onto the turbo. You will need a custom flange for that. Then you need to replace that baby intercooler with bigger one. You also need to look at better air intake and before tuning up the boost or giving it more diesel, please install a boost guage and egt guage. You do not want to melt the head.
@@jacokoen8859 thank you for the great info man, really appreciate it, but won't a 3" pipe be a bit too much for the small rhf5 turbo?...planning on installing a egt and boost meter later on before i start modding the truck, and also, can the factory con rod handle 20psi of boost or will it bent?..i mean 20psi all day long cause where i live, we have so much hills and sharp corner and no long straight road so will meed more power on low to mid end of the rpm
cheers bro good vid. had a courier was good, just needed flat bed for work" an got 2003 bravo, its been good so far 68 on the clock then. but petrol, would be keen to spend bit on headers new exchaust" i know its dum cos still be slow, but fukit. one thing i did was bigger rims n tyres shit it better. after rain used to just spin and apoligise to people behind me" haha i like it what u rekon i can do without a turbo make it bit better n bit more power?
Ok step 1.. fuck wl engines... they weak as shit.. lol.. head cracking issues in my country.. i turned up fuel n tried this b4.. bleh.. got a new used engine.. n i leave it stock.. to about 12psi .. but i got to admit.. those cone filters good for air flow . But sucks hot engine bay air.. so what i did .. i leave the stock air box n eliminated the baffle piping.. n made sure the pipe is from the wheel well.. so i pull cold air from outside .n used a injen pre filter to prevent water from getting in the piping to prevent hydro lock .. and u should look into a freeflow muffler .. it could be the same size. But the cats or original silencer are heavy n restrictive
Just bought a 2004, most rusty thing I have ever bought but videos like this keep me going
Haha thanks man, hack it lol

Installing a wrx bumper and need to either cut them off or bend them.
Do you need a cert for a front mount? Why would u need to take it off for a wof
My front bumper doesn't fit with intercooler on
Is ur egt guage in farenheit by ny chance
Na man celcius

The silicone hose closes bro you need metal with minimal silicone hoses otherwise the pipe squishes and doesn't allow air in 🤙
Mmm figured that out
Good to see a bloody video that actually has no dislikes from random ass holes! tops to you mate! keep the vids coming.
hell yeah bro, thank you so much for the video
Bet a Mazda b2600i hood and grill would give you the look you want for that truck. Sure looks like the old b series mazda style
yeah i like the old square shit, R31's an such

are you still using the factory turbo? which is the rhf5
vh33 pretty sure it is, ballbearing not roller bearing which i think the rh5 is
