SAAB is/was in Linköping, yes. SAAB still makes planes, they make fighter aircraft for various countries. I'm not sure if they still make the planes in Linköping or not. @14:58 The factory is just a big waste incineration plant that sits next to the highway, IRL it's made almost all out of glass. I don't know anything about Nessie (yes it's called that) in Jönköping, someone else will have to comment about that. I'm from Motala, a small town worth west of Linköping. Doesn't look like it's modeled in the game since the E20 goes to the west of lake Vättern and E4 (the motorway Squirrel drove on most of the way) goes to the east of it and there's no roads between them.
Chassiporten and the close areas to it (mainly inside of it) and the background higher ground and the railway bridge way to the left are spot on. the roads not so much but that goes for every city in the game. :) Source: Lived in Södertälje for 30+ years. Can't wait for this DLC! Might even visit at the 25th. :)
Thanks for replying. I don't like driving anywhere unless I know something about the place I am picking up from or delivering to including how to pronounce the name:-)
Thank you for your awesome video and the resent stream. Can't wait for the dlc to be released. See you in Södertälje! Happy trucking at Scania factory! Greetings from Sweden!
That celebration toot was perfect. I can't think of a more british celebration of a milestone than a half arsed , anti-climactic, simulated lorry horn. Love it! Looking forward to Scandinavia (Even my missus loves ETS!) And especially ATS! This was the squirrels nuts! (Had to be said)
Congrats on 300k, Paul. Well deserved. I still remember when I first found your channel when DayZ was new. The good ol' days with the squad and your adventures. You've come a long way!
Wow Squirrels going to the Scania factory to drive his favorite truck this will be awesome! I remember the first time I sat behind the wheel of my favorite truck for the first time (Freightliner) I drove a Western Star for almost a year before getting moved into the Freightliner, but to actually get invited to the factory would be amazing! Good luck Paul and congrats on 300k subs! Happy trucking from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada
Just bought it today n its much better then the other parts off the play been playing it for hours since I got it roads are nicer to drive on thanks to squirrel for getting me in to this part off the map well worth it 😊
Great Video Paul, Scandanavian DLC looks very impressive.. Congrats on the 300K Subs too! Cant wait for the Scania weekend and SNT on your birthday.. 2015 really is looking great #YOTS
At 12:14 there is a bridge with a resturant that exist in real life that is called "Rasta" and it's amazing how they have done these details! I Can't wait when this comes out!
This is so damn good and similar to Sweden. I go down these roads pretty often and i see all these kinds of things beside of the road every once and then. The Scania factory is basically the same in real life and the bridge you drive under to get to your destination is there as well. The airplanes is of the same reason you were bringing up, it has to do with the SAAB manufacturing. The factory is also pretty similar but i don't know what they are producing in there. Great work here by Scs, they are the best! Good job and nice video!
My uncle used to be on the design team at scania. He started with Dodge trucks then to saab scania. Must have been to the factory hundreds of times, he loves sweeden.hope you have a gteat time
Congrats on the 300k subs, getting to Stream/UA-cam full time, the invite to SCS Software a while back, and your overall success bud! It's been great watching ever since the first 'ETS2 Introduction' video. Best of luck to ya in your future endeavours, and thanks for the awesome vids! Regards from Nowhere, Kansas
Fantastic video enjoyed it very much, have a great trip to scania factory and thank you for all your work in the videos they are very entertaining and you narrating is excellent. 10 out of 10
You were absolutely right. SAAB still makes aircrafts and they do it in Linköping. Nice deduction. The "Loch Ness monster" is actually called Nessie, and is a sculpture and popular symbol of the town Huskvarna, a suburb to Jönköping. They've really thought about the details here.
On 12:15 there is a building that looks like a bridge over the road with a key sign, I believe it's a swedish road caffee, I ate donuts exactly in this one before the Scania factory. At least looks completely like the one I was in. Good memories.
What a coincidence. Today me and my class took this very trip from Stockholm to Södertälje to visit the Scania factory, and it's well worth the visit. Check out the museum as well if you have the possibility. I have to say that the video shows it the way it is even if Stockholm and Södertälje (as you state in the video) aren't as close as they are in the game. Well driven! Hope you get to drive a real one as well.
First Grats to all subs =) When you pass Linköping in the video so you are right about saab aircraft. The plan is Lance, Dragon, SK60 and Viggen. The plant on the right hand side you were wondering about is Gärstad. Where they is burned garbage.
Looking forward to the DLC. Really glad they included my home town of Uppsala in the DLC. Of course it would have been even cooler if they included the entire east coast, the northern parts are really spectacular to drive through, and the E4 running along it is a major route for heavy trucks.
Omg!! When you drove through Linköping there was a plane and It's exactly like that IRL! I live there in Linköping! The plane is a "Saab 340" a passenger plane. Along "Route E4" around Linköping all the planes that "Saab" have made are up lifted like that. From combat airplanes to passenger planes! Though the other planes were not put in to the game.
Powerplant @ 15:15. That's what that is, those 2 ponds would be the cooling ponds used to convert the heat from burning coal to steam, the steam to run the turbines, and then the steam cooled back to water.
The aircrafts are there to mark SAAB (Swedish Aerospace Ltd.) They sit just outside Linköping on the north and south highway junctions. You will maybe pass them depending on what city you fly to. If you fly to Arlanda (recommended) or Skavsta you won't see them as they are roughly 250 - 100 km to the south of those airports. Unless you make a dedicated trip to see them. I can confirm that the vistas are really accurate. The bridge you went under just as you came on to the motorway is the train station you will use to get to the Scania factory. (Source: I've lived in between the Södertälje and Linköping all my life. About an hour car journey to either.)
mixmasterlandberg Like you say, the aircrafts are, might miss one, SAAB 29 Tunnan, 32 Lansen, 35 Draken, 91 Safir(think I saw it in this video), 37 Viggen, 39 Gripen, SAAB 340 (the first A/C in the video) and the SAAB 2000. The factory is the Linkoping heating plant.
The Scania R is my main truck, and the first one I bought too. The big thing for me is the highly visible fuel gauge. Looking forward to visiting the factory, in-game anyway.
The wooden figure you saw outside Jönköping is called jätten Vist aka Giant Vist and is according to the story the who created the island you saw to your left opposite of the "statue"
A few things about the DLC: 1. No Scania Test Track, which is there, btw 2. Most of the roads near the factory are blocked off (you know, how huge would the ets2 map be if they just unblocked all the roads that are blocked) 3. It looks like we will have to wait until ProMods updates their map mod to incorporate the DLC to use the Scania Test Track. I can't believe ProMods will have the DLC in their map. How good is that:-)) If SCS and all the map modders unblocked all the roads in the map we would have the start of a proper sandbox.
Really looking forward to the Scania factory video. Unfortunately I can't come as I live in Australia 😢. But thankfully I've got the power of the Internet to be there with you!
That was a cool video, I will be out of town when the DLC drops, but can not wait till am back home and Truckin 4 Life! on ETS2. Keep up the cool vids.
Outside of the town Linköping there are two aircrafts along the highway, there are two fighterjets and a Saab 2000 passengerplane. It is due to the fact that Saab actually builds planes in the township of Linköping.
if you find the amount of scanias at 6:55 alot you have to check the scania factory in holland it filled with tons of trucks and they build about 128 each day
The aircrafts you saw in Linköping is there because there are aircraft factories there. And saab dosent make cars no more but they are still making airplanes (jas gripen) and weaponsystems.
HI live in the very south of Sweden, so it would be a 6 hour train ride to Södertälje, but it would be so cool to meet you and go in to chassiporten. Also, my brother lives just 5 minutes from the factory, so it's right at home (in some sense) for me :) *Random fact:* On the south side of the long bridge by Scania is the intercity train station. Don't know why I added that..
The planes that you saw next to the road outside Linköping is SaaB made planes. Most of them old not used today but for example "Draken" = Dragon (an air fighter jet). The factory that you saw i'm not quite sure of but i know i have seen it.
In case you are wondering how do do you download the beta right click on the game in the library and click "BETA" and try to find find "1.17 beta branch" i think
SAAB is/was in Linköping, yes. SAAB still makes planes, they make fighter aircraft for various countries. I'm not sure if they still make the planes in Linköping or not.

Det är åtta år senare nu men häftigt att se någon annan från Motala!
Chassiporten and the close areas to it (mainly inside of it) and the background higher ground and the railway bridge way to the left are spot on. the roads not so much but that goes for every city in the game. :) Source: Lived in Södertälje for 30+ years. ColinZeal Could you tell me how to pronounce Sodertalje? Sorry I don't have the proper Swedish letters on my keyboard:-)
Thanks for replying. I don't like driving anywhere unless I know something about the place I am picking up from or delivering to including how to pronounce the name:-)
Congrats on 300, 000 subs Paul! You deserve each one, we all are big fans! Very nice video, interesting! Thank you for everything Paul!
I'll have to say that SCS has advanced so much in the past 2 years. I am super excited to play this DLC!
my dad used to be a self employed trucker, he was for 30 years and he let me drive his scania about 2/3 years ago, it was amazing!
Thank you for your awesome video and the resent stream. Can't wait for the dlc to be released. See you in Södertälje! Happy trucking at Scania factory! Greetings from Sweden!

This looks so real even the cases where the spare parts are being transported are in the real color they've done a really great job!!
Congrats on 300k, Paul. Well deserved.
I still remember when I first found your channel when DayZ was new. The good ol' days with the squad and your adventures. You've come a long way!
Wow the attention to detail is amazing, great video!

Congrats on your 300k + subscribers.
It's a pleasure. Cheers!
I was so shocked when squirrel said he just hit 300k. I thought that he would have way more than that. He deserves it!!
Wow Squirrels going to the Scania factory to drive his favorite truck this will be awesome! YAY! :D You are in Sweden, I live there :DDDAnd btw, that plane at 14:33 actually exists, but it is a jet plane in real life :3
Just bought it today n its much better then the other parts off the play been playing it for hours since I got it roads are nicer to drive on thanks to squirrel for getting me in to this part off the map well worth it 😊
I think it's amazing how big and strong of a community this game has. Makes me wish other games had communities like this.
Great Video Paul, Scandanavian DLC looks very impressive.. Congrats on the 300K Subs too! Cant wait for the Scania weekend and SNT on your birthday.. 2015 really is looking great #YOTS
For funzies, play the orginal ETS. It's fun.

This channel deserves more subscribes and views/likes
My uncle used to be on the design team at scania. He started with Dodge trucks then to saab scania. Must have been to the factory hundreds of times, he loves sweeden.hope you have a gteat time
I live in in a small city close to Stockholm and my friend is working on Scania, in Södertälje, so I can visit the factory whenever I want :)
Can't wait until the public release of the DLC! Great video as always!

Fantastic video enjoyed it very much, have a great trip to scania factory and thank you for all your work in the videos they are very entertaining and you narrating is excellent.
10 out of 10
There also is a scania factory in zwolle, holland. I live near zwolle and its really big. Lots and lots of truck there. Love driving past it!!
Cool to see you drive here in Sweden!

GREAT VIDEO - Looking forward to more videos and the DLC
Paul I am speechless it looks really good I look forward to it coming, my money is ready when the steam press the release button.
Looking forward to the DLC. Really glad they included my home town of Uppsala in the DLC. Of course it would have been even cooler if they included the entire east coast, the northern parts are really spectacular to drive through, and the E4 running along it is a major route for heavy trucks.
Gratz on 300k!!!
my family have a picture of us stood around that wooden man thing, it is really cool!

The sky makes it look like a brand new game. Amazing is what it is.
Can't believe your going to the Scania factory, have a great day & look forward to seeing your vid. :)
Congrats man!
Well done on 300k subs Paul I have been subbed since about 50k so proud of you
Hope you have an excellent two days at Scania, and an joyful birthday and I will try to drop into SNT and say "Hi!"
Grabbed the beta, was looking at the profile pictures, and lo and behold, Mr. Squirrel is in the game!
i can't wait to see u driving scania!
Powerplant @ 15:15. That's what that is, those 2 ponds would be the cooling ponds used to convert the heat from burning coal to steam, the steam to run the turbines, and then the steam cooled back to water.
Been watching a lot of old Squirrel ETS2 videos and the intro is nostalgia city :)
Those airplains you saw was the first things SAAB ever did. The first two was a model of the JAS Gripen, which Sweden are still making today.
Looking good! And congrats with 300k subs!

Part of my job is to collect parts for Scania from places all over the UK. I'm collecting turbos out of Peterlee tomorrow!
Wow the game looks fantastic. I want to play again.
You deserve 300k you put effort into your vids and they are great, always watching
Congrats on 300,264 Paul love all of your videos
jamie Taylor Love your surname :D
Luke Smith
Careful or we will make you a Luke Taylor... Maybe even a Taylor Taylor? :D
The thing on the left near Linköping was for the aircraft company that builds the Swedish fighter JAS 39 Gripen
Hey Squirrel, I live in Södertälje, quite close to the Scania factory. Really fun that you will be visiting my hometown! :)
Thanks Squirrel, you always make my day!
Really looking forward to the Scania factory video. Unfortunately I can't come as I live in Australia 😢. But thankfully I've got the power of the Internet to be there with you!
nice congrats on 300,000k subs :)
Squirrel I am incredibly proud of you welldine on 300k subs
Squirrel its not Scandanavian, its Scandinavian (check the title)
Aleserx I don't think he'll change it, he still didn't change part 2 of the interview with Pavel
***** No he didn't. Both the title and the description has Scandanavian instead of Scandinavian.
Aleserx squierrel as spell Scandinavian in the title right
ian poynter Yes, he has changed it. Now its correct
***** This one, yes, the other one, no. Anyway, never mind.
Have fun!
well done man. Kudos to you
Congrats on 300k Paul
I love watching u play euro truck squirrel and watching u drive a scania because it is my dream truck to drive
That was a cool video, I will be out of town when the DLC drops, but can not wait till am back home and Truckin 4 Life! on ETS2. Keep up the cool vids.

this dlc looks unreal so realistic squirrel
if you find the amount of scanias at 6:55 alot you have to check the scania factory in holland it filled with tons of trucks and they build about 128 each day
and btw i recommend the volvo museum in eskilstuna... its about 100 km west of södertälje and its where volvo started
The aircrafts you saw in Linköping is there because there are aircraft factories there. And saab dosent make cars no more but they are still making airplanes (jas gripen) and weaponsystems.
I just love Scania trucks and your channel
+Zerebox me too im a huge scania fan
+Stephen Helvitson peterbilt for life
Awesome vid Paul I can't make it but really look forward to the picture and vids from Sweden. Have a good time.
14:47 yes it does have something to do with Saab
By the way, I'm from Sweden and been a fan of Squirrel for a while now! .. Also been playing SCS's games since the first hard truck :3
I was today years old when I learned Squirrel _almost_ shares my birthday. Off-by-one error!
wow that´s nice! :O Been in Södertälje not long ago and its made awesome!!! good job scs :3
Hi Squirrel, please keep the videos coming.
You'd be nuts not too.
Wow, you really deserve those 300k+
The super market is also avaliable in ATS if u watch the gameplay... But this gameplay is fantastic especially the weather...
Also in Linköping SAAB made airplanes, SAAB means "Svenska Aeroplan Aktie Bolaget" witch means Swedish Aeroplane Company, (roughly translated)
I was drooling the whole time
Please, please do a trip to Bergen! Great vid as always Squirrel! Congrats on 300k!
Finally a ets2 video yes !!!
HI live in the very south of Sweden, so it would be a 6 hour train ride to Södertälje, but it would be so cool to meet you and go in to chassiporten. Also, my brother lives just 5 minutes from the factory, so it's right at home (in some sense) for me :)
*Random fact:* On the south side of the long bridge by Scania is the intercity train station. Don't know why I added that..
That plane is there because of SAAB as you said. They make Swedish military airplanes such as JAS 39 Gripen and such.
"Thanks fellow Volvo driver !"
Paul were you drunk ? :p
Congrats
MP4 + DLC + MP .... can't wait ;)
The planes that you saw next to the road outside Linköping is SaaB made planes. Most of them old not used today but for example "Draken" = Dragon (an air fighter jet). The factory that you saw i'm not quite sure of but i know i have seen it.

Yes it was a SAAB plane you saw.
And they still make airplanes, the SAAB JAS 39 Gripen jetfighter
(its a different company called SAAB Group)
That part of Linköping is showing off the Swedish army aircrafts, made by Saab.
Also you missed the fighter jet before the other airplane
