DIY KYDEX® Project : How to make a 2-Piece Holster (Feat. Dave White)

In this video, Dave White of www.NSRTactical.com shows us his personal method for designing and forming a 2-piece (pancake-style) gun holster. Watch Dave as he demonstrates the basic steps necessary to layout and construct a KYDEX® pancake holster for a M&P Shield. Included in this presentation are basic vacuum forming & tee-shirt heat press usage. This is a great video for beginners to intermediate holster makers who want to learn the basic procedures of professional thermoform holster making.

Very nice holster nicely laid out, cut, drilled, riveted and belt sanded, sanded, sanded and did I say sanded.
I've seen paint dry quicker than that. Edit out about 6 or 7 min.
Of belt sander and you have a WINNER!!!!!

You can use standard wax paper placed in-between hot index in the vacuum press and the index will not stick together while cooling.

NSR and Green Force ? You can't find better holsters. .both of these companies are the gold standard of holsters.

How do you keep the dremel from melting the kydex because of how much heat it generates

Like sanding or polishing, you don't hold it in one spot too long. The dremel will take Kydex off faster than it can melt if you keep moving. The dremel will remove material fast so be careful that you don't remove too much.

What type of blade is used on the scroll saw?

They're standard tooth (metal) blades. We're using one of the 3 that came packaged with the unit. KYDEX® doesn't even slow it down.
