It’s time for an all-American showdown!
We’ve got Mat in the Fisker Ocean, and he’s facing off against the Tesla Model Y Performance! The question is, can this new EV player perform against the class-leading Tesla?
Well, let’s check out the stats. Starting with the Fisker, it’s packing dual electric motors which combine to produce 565hp and 740Nm of torque. Naturally, for an electric car, it’s pretty heavy, tipping the scales at 2,434kg, and when it comes to price, it’ll set you back £62,000.
Then we come to the Tesla. Just like the Fisker, it’s equipped with two electric motors. However, in this instance it’s down on power compared to the Ocean, producing 527hp and 660Nm. But while it’s down on power, it’s also down on weight and price, coming in at 1,997kg and £60,000 respectively.
So how do you think this one will play out? Will the more powerful Fisker snatch it? Or will the lighter Tesla cruise to victory? There’s only one way to find out for sure… LET’S RACE! - Авто та транспорт

That diagonally stuck Fisker screen is symbolic for the state of the company right now
Investing in Fisker might seem like a bold move, but let me paint a picture of the incredible potential it holds. Here's why:
They've already secured a hefty $150 million investment from current backers, indicating strong faith in the company's future.
With a potential $400 million injection from a major automotive player, there's a golden opportunity for collaboration, leading to the launch of exciting new vehicles and mutual benefits.
Temporarily halting production shows their commitment to ironing out any existing issues, demonstrating their dedication to delivering top-notch quality.
The upcoming 10k filing is a positive indicator of transparency and regulatory compliance, instilling confidence in investors.
Sitting on $200 million worth of inventory ready to hit the market once production resumes, coupled with the promised investments, paints a promising financial picture.
Furthermore, imagine the impact of sending revamped cars to reviewers - a move that's sure to bolster trust and instill confidence in both consumers and investors alike.
The electric vehicle market is ripe for innovation, and Fisker's sleek designs stand out as a testament to this. Every startup faces initial hurdles, but nothing that determination and innovation can't overcome. Remember, Fisker cars aren't facing the explosive issues that plagued early Teslas.
I firmly believe in Fisker's potential to soar, and I'm confident that they'll not only overcome their challenges but emerge as leaders in the EV industry.
Fisker's vehicles boast captivating designs and impressive range, making them stand out in the electric vehicle market. Despite encountering minor bugs, their over-the-air update capability ensures swift resolution, maintaining their commitment to delivering exceptional driving experiences.

In some early versions of the Lamborghini Gallardo, there was a feature called the "Reverse Lockout" mechanism. This was designed as a safety feature to prevent the driver from accidentally shifting into reverse while the car was moving forward at high speeds. The mechanism typically required the driver to come to a complete stop or engage the clutch for a certain duration before being able to shift into reverse. This feature was present in manual transmission models to prevent damage to the transmission and drivetrain components. However, it's worth noting that specific implementations of this feature may have varied between different model years and versions of the Gallardo.

Agree. Tesla looks unique. The Fisker looks generic
Really? I own neither, so am unbiased, however I think the Fisker is streets ahead in looks. Looks like a modern take of the Range Rover Evoque. The people in a Tesla look like they’re in a fishbowl on wheels, when driving around town. There’s a lot of glazing going on, in the 3’s and y’s. The model S is better in this regard. The Teslas certainly look more aerodynamic than the Fisker though. And are certainly more efficient. That’s the advantage of a 10 year head start. I just hope Fisker stays afloat. Nothing wrong with healthy competition. It drives better deals and improved options for us folks when we will move to EVs.
Sam had me in stitches 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
One of the funniest videos I’ve ever watched on carwow. 😂
I’ve driven the old fisker and that was really slow as well. I kinda like the way it looks though
Wow, Fisker Ocean is considered a proper SUV. So it is rapidly!
I love that it's still a woman's voice for the countdown even though it's a man doing it.
For real
A beautiful car that Fisker, i have to say.
Hope you one day can manage to get the Ricky Atoms 1000bhp 650kg Ariel Atom here on Carwow. Think that could have been very fun to see.
Greetings from Bjoern, a Norwegian living in south Brazil.
Matt and Sam should team up with Chris Harris and do a Top Gear-esque programme. Would be epic.
You can’t do launch control at all in the Model Y. Sam was just incorrect about that. In addition Track Mode cools the battery and severely limits straight line acceleration. I don’t know why CarWow insists on crippling Tesla vehicles by using Track Mode.
We know why… 🤫
