This is the original Batmobile for me, it departed from the original series Batmobile and was truely a character in its own right. The outlandish designs from the later mobies were pale imitations and never had that same spirit.
The Tumbler is a completely different animal, just like everything else in the Chistopher Nolan movies, and I'd hold it up right beside this one as the true embodyment of the spirit of the Batmobile.
That said, this Batmobile has a special place in my heart, right beside the Ecto-1, and Kitt... and probably a few others I'm forgetting.

  • @rebeccaschade3987

It's so weird to hear people say "an underrated Batman" about the Burton movies. Burton's Batman set a new standard for superhero movies. It was, for a very long time, seen as the gold standard for Batman. And as a movie, it still holds up to this day. The visual design especially is some of the best ever, and last time I checked, it was still fairly widely accepted as such, and not just my personal opinion. And all of a sudden, Burton's Batman is considered as underrated? Perhaps forgotten, because a lot of Batman fans today weren't born when that movie came out, and many young people aren't interested in seeing movies that are older than themselves, but I still think among those who were alive when the Burton movies came out, this is considered to be the ultimate Batmobile.

I've driven one of these in VR that I modded into GTA V. It's nearly impossible to see over the hood. Literally all you can see is the bulge for the turbine. I still think this is the best Batmobile.

Everyone's favorite Batmobile is the Tim Burton Batmobile. I wouldn't trust anyone who said otherwise

60's Batmobile is the original, the best and therefore my favourite. Burton's '89 version is a close second though.

@@lwaves That's a great car as well but the cheese factor always kept me from enjoying the show so I see that car in a not so flattering light.

That actually isn't the first Batmobile. The original comic Batmobile was a 1936 Cord 810, then in the first weekly or monthly batman movies in the 40s was a 39 caddy mostly. I don't think it survived though.

    • @lwaves

@@RoomerJ I wasn't counting comics as they aren't real, drivable vehicles, even if they were based of real ones. I'd forgotten about the earlier movies though, so that's a fair point. :-)

I wouldn't even bother with the license plate on that thing, I'd just wear a batsuit and when the cop stops me I'll say "sorry officer, but I'm Batman" and drive off

I‘ve got that handbrake handle in my 1971 Reliant Bug 750 ES. Which does not mean a lot because those things were build from whatever they found in the scrap yard that day.

What a great idea. A feature perfect for The Grand Tour. The iconic Movie and TV car shootout. I'd imagine Hammond turning up in the General Lee, Clarkson in the original Batmobile and May in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang! Lol

Austin Morris 1300 handbrake (google that car interior), my aunt had one. Given how many on here know this lever type, a firm must have been producing for BL, Austin and Morris.
